Didn't you know that the cats have been experimenting with humans for years? Toxoplasmosis is just one of their experiments. After all they have ruled human homes during thousands of years, influencing the decision process of peasant and imperator alike.
Like with happens with humans, some cats treat their servants well and others use them as test subjects in their ongoing effort to keep in control.
Some are better than others at collecting information ( Moddb.com ) but overall they are prepared to rule over humans for thousands of years to come :P

You never know man. Cats ruled Egypt as much as the pharaohs could enforce their rule so they could have easily influenced the construction of the pyramids. After all the sphinkx has similar traits to cats...
The fact that scientists discovered most of our leaps of evolution (and those of other living beings) were likely caused by retro-virus (retro-virus don't directly copy themselves like virus do, they add their own genetic material to the host cell genetic material so once the cell divides several cells can produce more retro-virus just like they produce proteins during their normal operation) which explains why certain genes are extremely different from the surrounding genetic material. Cats could have influenced our evolution by simply passing the retro-virus that infested them onto us, thus making us possess some of their retro-virus induced traits.
You never know, we might have just been engineered by cats, they are certainly smart enough to do it.
