A member of the VVVTW mod for Rome Total War.
Want to ask me anything then post a comment or PM and I will get back to you.
The dark effect is by the GEM settings,
the units do have a shade of green.
The large list of factions are every playable faction that will be in the final release, that release detail above is just a view of what will be available when we release alpha/beta etc.
-We are currently editing the present map with faction ownerships etc. we feel that we should include a campaign map regardless of whether CA release campaign editing tools. (Which seems unlikely now)
No sure if they have a Moddb page.
Added 8 new unit images, some revamped and some new. Check them out.
Be sure to see the full update preview images of both Isengard and Rohan over at TWCenter.
Also we have added a new miscellaneous faction preview thread, showing Dunland and in the future Dale. (Currently very early worked models)
Misc factions: Twcenter.net
We will be showing Gondor as our next big faction preview.
What can you do? in terms of modding Rome 2.
Big update to the UI coming soon.
We work with set goals, so currently all we are concerned about at the moment is getting 4 factions done to a reasonable standard with the UI being done for them as well along with foundations of some of the core features we are going to add in, So that we can release it as a open alpha.
(The 4 factions are still WIP)
Then we will continue the work and focus on Harad,Dwarves, Elves, and Rhun. for a Open beta release.
So until then we aren't heavily focused on Rhun.
But I can tell you they won't be based on the movie or off of TATW, as we are basing the lore on the books.
We've had similar thoughts, and I think in the end I think this what we are going to do. But it would be a full release first before debating on whether we port over.
Should we stay with Rome 2 or go to Attila?
Post your thoughts here
please post ideas ad suggestions in the forum!
The post of mine above is for you to choose what you want as content to be shown next!!
Post your next update wish, may it be a guess a unit/guess a general/preview of a UI/ Faction preview
Comment below and the most popular will be chosen.
‘Not all those who wander are lost.’ – J.R.R. Tolkien
That would be something we wish to do if the community gets a bigger support with the modding tools, i.e campaign map editing tools, battle maps, campaign models, UI editors etc etc
Thanks for your support :)
The two questions posted in the comments on the deleted image,
"Will you change the unit cards"
Yes eventually, the ones here are just the selection of the unit card, but they are subjected to change. It was more of a test and to see what could be done. For example you can slightly see the tree in the unit card selection.
"what will be Gondor bodyguards be like" (can't remember the exact words of the question)
We are still deciding the roster of Gondor and we want the team to be satisfied by it before we release any information regarding it.
the unit list of gondor is still in the making, so we want to make sure we as a team are first satisfied with the roster before we start telling people.
Hope you understand,
Added a preview of the Gondor UI
The update only includes the new data entry's and files for the Emperor edition update. So there is no new tool or anything except updated files.
we hope to, but at this moment in time I'm afraid all we can do is change the names and the campaign city models I believe.
We are currently editing the startpos.esf, and rearranging ownerships to create some likeness to middle earth. This would be a temporary thing until CA release some form of map editing tool, if they ever do that is.
This is something we wont edit, as it would require voice acting and such to record a battle speech as they are audio files.
Perhaps someone can do it as a submod after we release the final version.
Youtube.com I just want this in-game, marching with my sons of mars.
It's something we could look into :)
We now have a forum section on this mod page! Get over there and get talking!!
-Do you have something you think would add value to the mod? Then go and post it in the suggestions / Ideas section.
-Do you have some great research skills then post them in the research section.
-Do you love to talk about the lore? then head over to the general discussion section.
the units closer on the right with the short spears are unfinished models as you can see, they still have vanilla armour and shields etc. However its the units on the far left with the long spears that are the units we are representing.
Glad to hear :)
Turning the ancient world into the "Tolkien books" of Middle Earth.
No, we are basing the mod on the book version of Middle Earth.
We plan to re-do all of the UI across the whole game.
sure, we want to stick to the tolkien books. And so we don't want to follow the movie representations of the soldiers.
No we won't.
maybe as a non-playable one, but do check out the playable ones in the list above.
