Oooh! Apologies to El Capitan then! I should have researched a bit more before commenting. Hmm. I'm still not ready to order just yet but I might once a few more features get in. And there is at least rudimentary sound. I don't do loud music while gaming. I like to hear whats going on.
And I wouldnt complain if the price went up reasonably with those features either.
Hmm. Odds of me preordering ever just went from slim to pretty much none. I mean I still have hopes the game might turn out well and would probably buy it once it reached something resembling a released state, assuming the price reflects the over all quality..
But preordering? When the price has gone up before any noticable progress has been displayed where I could find it? Yea, my hope for the games future isnt gone but it's taken a huge hit.
I think calling it a gameplay trailer is a bit deceiving. While it may have been generated in the engine we see absolutely nothing of what its like to play the game. No UI. Most of the longer clear shorts are edited to be views from an entirely too "cinematic" view.
Too much drama not enough substance for a gameplay trailer for my tastes. Should have just been a preview trailer.
Really, really, really want to buy this. But Im broke. And wary after the fail that was RO2. Come on fellas! Give us a sale on individual pre-orders this year instead of a deal on two like last year. Please!
You buy the game once. It is yours. Updates to improve the game are free once you have paid for the game.
And they are done semi-automatically. Even with the demo when you begin the game it tells you of a new version. And gives you an option to update.
Is this the Age of Chivalry mod team? Either way looks interesting. Hope you do better work with the Unreal Engine then Tripwire did making RO2. Huge disappointment there.
Really tempted to take the money for this. Just because I love where it is going. I so need an open ended game with combat that is actually interesting and goals worth working at.
And really there is only one more thing I need to see before I can convince myself that it's worth the ten bucks. Sound. Even just place holder sounds. Some 8 bit music that doesnt suck and some simple generic sounds for the more basic actions. Something. Anything. It's needed.
So wish this mod would move over to Cryengine3. Could be completely free! I already got crysis just to play this mod. Still refuse to buy crysis wars now that crysis has been abandoned.
Bookmarked and waiting for that English version. I mean this as a compliment, one of the best a game dev can get from me. Watching that video made me think of Elderscrolls. Just a feel. And for an alpha indie game the movement animations were very good.
Hoping it turns out to be as good as it looks, goes sub and not F2P, and eventually has a north american server. ;)
Aww. Less hardcore=Sad Roh.
Damn easy mode whiners.
Looking good for an early version! Character seems to move snappy. Love the character customization what making your guy. I am getting a LOT of crashes though. Enough that I can't really properly poke around at this build. But it was cool enough that I am looking forward to the next!
MP? I could have sworn this was going to be SP only. Will it be adversarial or some sort of co-op that tosses you back into the linear story?
I find the graphics pleasing and the mechanics down right amazing for this game. But had absolutely no plans of buying an SP linear story game. They feel like a waste of money to me. Open ended games are just so much of a better value. Possibly endless gameplay as apposed to what.. 12 hours of gameplay if you are lucky? That you can sure.. repeat over and over and over.. >.>
But if there is going to be some sort of interesting adversarial MP involved my interest in the game will go beyond marveling at the mechanics of the dev logs again!
Meh, I like the idea that there are no levels. Everyone has access to the same amount of skills. The mod and website are even well polished. But I cant see playing the mod until there is a point.
As it is now you just collect every item in the mod. Have them... And watch your gold pile up. There is no long term challenge or point of interest. No gold sink. No real point to the mod. Seems silly considering the nice quality of the work done to have no point.
Now it has been a couple months since I played so there may have been further developments. But I see nothing here to make me think there have been.
Sure like the art so far!
Sexy! More options=more awesome!
Really hope this is going to bring back the JJ strafing from MW2. I loved that so much.
I'm curious. You talk about the large game world and having your own buildings or wilderness bases. I'm curious. Will the large world hold resources used by your or npc business and factions? Or will that all be less RTS and more rpg were what you need is assumed and you just pay for it with gold gotten from enemies or quests?
Is it really in a playable state already? I thought the pre-order coming up was more of a support and show your enthusiasm deal. I hope people aren't expecting too much from an earlier stage of development then they are anticipating.
I wouldnt rush him on the preorder. Would luck for everyone to get the game without enough features functional to keep everyone interested.
I personally look for a game where I have a chance to lose things. But of course you first need a game where you can really build things.
A good balance of both would be my gaming holyland.
I've also considered the concept of dealing with no saving and reloading. Mostly for a different type of game. But the general concept still applies. What I was considering was how to handle permadeath. And I also fell to making it harder then most games to actually die as well. I like your blurring the lines term.
I don't know where games got stuck on this idea that you are either alive and completely functional or dead. Dead and gone to be reloaded or resurrected by your friendly neighborhood god. I very much like your advanced health and damage system.
Not my usual thing but it does look even more promising then last time I saw it!
If times weren't so hard I would probably buy it and maybe even donate a couple more bucks to the cause.
Sadly times are hard and I just spent money I shouldn't have on RO2.. Complete waste of money that it was.
Very interesting answer. Sadly I don't think my computer is going to be handling a million stars. Or even half a million. Only on an Ahtlon II x2 240 with four gigs of ram and a barely usable Nvidia 240 GS graphics card.
And of course you have to react to situations around you. My hope is that you all will be able to allow for more then one valid reaction to most situations. More then one way to tackle it. And not one that is just so much easily then all others that it becomes the default reaction. Make any sense?
This sounds pretty interesting! I love open ended games where I can sort of choose what Im doing at the time instead of being guided along. Am I right in thinking this is that sort of game?
It looks like it might be fun but.. Maybe you went a little too simple with the graphics. Could have used juuust enough detail to give the characters some personality.
Glad to know Im not the only one who had to change his undies after watching this.
Sweet! Just hope my eyes are still good enough to be able to see by the time that .5 comes around! ;p
Not really a star trek fan but the video made the game sound interesting enough that I'm going to have to take a deeper look.
That being said... Poor... Poor paper holding guy. Gotta feel harsh to spend a noticeable portion of an interview covering your own face with a large sheet of paper.
I am just waiting to come back and find that we have driven smrt to an epic rage quit of publicly working on this mod.
Wait, isn't this a linear story game? Well I guess there isn't going to be much in the way of replay value sp at least.
