So basically Xeroderma pigmentosum? And Rosa Hiroka is a reference to Ace Combat, isn't she?

Description

The Bronzestone Disease was a rare skin disease in the galaxy. The disease nullifies the ability of a human's skin pigment to protect the body from the ultraviolet light from any sources, which can lead to death by radiation. The most well known sufferers of the disease were Republic ace pilot Rosa Hiroka and Dr. Akim Sokotoski, the latter of whom discovered and named the disease.

Light levels over 2,000 lux will begin to damage the skin, over 7,000 will lead to irreversible decay via radiation and over 15,000 will lead to instantaneous death. It is noted that skin tissue exposed to various degrees of lux erodes as cells die off rapidly, the skin contracts and blackens.

The disease is derived from a recessive genetic trait. It is not contagious.
