Hi, I am Richard and I was born in the 90′s in Birmingham, England. Through my life I have always played a lot of video games and I have a keen interest in Films (World Cinema / Japanese), 90′s Punk Music and Japan. My main aspiration in life is to contribute towards the video game industry in my own way and ideally I would love to make my own video games or even own my own company one day. In the last few years Video Games have gained a lot of recognition as art formats and is more recognized globally as “Career” in society. There is not much to say about my character, I am very passive and quite quiet but I have this strange sense of ambition that keeps me aiming forward. I hope you enjoy my works and I hope that over the years they will only get better and better. Even if this ends up as a hobby I will keep at it~

Did before I started the RPG: Titansterrorstoys.blogspot.co.uk Used their designs as a base for creatures like the Bio Beast and Sonic Beast. If they had actually made that game it would of been scary as hell.

There is a chess looking Icon, As this is the old game it should look like a knight piece (horse/unicorn figure). If you play The Thing 2 the chess piece looks like a Dragon.

I was going to call them "Parasol" as a bit of an obvious dig at a certain other company. There are 5 (+1 Bonus) Endings all of which explore possible options. Just leaves it nice and open, Maybe I will come back to it one day when I know how to code better (if at all) but its difficult especially as it isn't a franchise I exactly own lol.

What engine are you using? This is the original game I made using [RPG Maker VX]. I am currently using VX Ace and I have links and resources for models you may use (they are not mine and you may need to find the sources for accreditation). For the most part I found its best to get your own models made (:
(VX resources can be used with VX ace and vice versa)

The Thing 2 RPG is a stand alone "Fan-Based" game. It runs in an rpg program and will be available to download soon for Windows. The Game is being funded entirely by me and is Non-Profit, thus no sales will be made and it will be free to all. Any borrowed content is subject to removal at authors request.

The Story Line is split into 2 main parts. The "Original Mode" which is an alternative take on the story told by Black Label Games/Computer Artworks 2002 "The Thing" 3rd person shooter game. The second part of the game is "Story Mode" which is an original story created by me which follows on from the Original Mode Story. What occurs in the two parts of the game is purely fan fiction and I understand that not everyone will like it. In Original Mode you take on the Role of Captain Blake embarking out on a search & rescue mission which soon turns into a fight for survival, ultimately becoming a sabotage/seek & destroy mission. In the Story Mode you play as a Player Created Hero who is tasked with the rescue of Captain Blake but ends up in a fight for survival and more importantly the truth, The ending for this mode will be based on your in game decisions. Both modes feature RPG based combat but when it comes down to it the main focus of the game is how you manage your squad and inventory. Luck won't always be on your side.

You will be able to download this game soon for Windows and it will require no installation. If you have an older computer then a "Lite" version will be available to compensate for players suffering Frame rate issues. I do not need any help on the game as I have mainly managed all I can on my own already and Testing is coming to an End. Expect the Game on the 28th November around-about.

October 28th will either be the Beta or Full Release depending on how the next 4 weeks go. Either way it will be fully available with the majority of the New graphics depending on the various artists work ethic as it gets closer to the end. The gameplay is pretty much complete and tested enough so that it works. Just the odd touches needed now.

Hi thanks for your feedback.
1) All The SURVIVING Original Mode Characters are ported to the Story Mode, they are scattered around. Characters who joined you later appear in later levels.

2) Survival Mode will be a 'wave' based game with a highscore system. It will be in a style similar to that of the Mercenaries from Resident Evil. In Original Mode Level at the Medi-Center where you have to kill the creatures before the door unlocks is similar to what I had in mind.

3) The script processing character creation is no longer in use (As of TB8), as mainly it would alter Blake instead of the "Captain". The Game now features my own Character Creation Method which is less laggy and much more simpler.

Thank you for your time.

Much appreciated, Free-roam/level backtracking (bonus objectives) similar to a fallout style is what I am aiming for "open rpg" gameplay as opposed to the classic style original mode. Might not be an update for a while might go back to private testing to tie things up. Thanks for playing.

Yeah I am in the process of getting graphics done for the game, I have to pay for it myself because the game is free to play. Just a matter of funds and finding the right artist. Well most of the scripts are yanfly scripts. I am using his Gab window and his Message System and his Event (pickup/popup) one.

Yanfly is awesome.

I cant script I am flawed. If I understood it I would.
VX scripts are incompatible with VX Ace.
Scripts also have a nasty habit of conflicting with one another and causing the game to crash.
Originally I was using Gubids TBS before I moved to vx ace, But even that was quite unstable.
The thing never truly dies even when you do burn it with fire (like the one in the Norwegian camp in the 1982 film, the one that kills Bennings) Personally I like the way it is at the moment, its actually quite hard.
