Anybody else remember how long this game was in development? How it got some front page mentions and how people seemed pretty psyched about it?

True. But disregarding major publishers, you can still find demos for indie games and from smaller publishers (Paradox for example). Check Steam, they usually have at least one new demo a week. And occasional free weekends.

And why would you want to play anything from a major publisher, anyway? Call of Duty games and the like aren't even worth pirating in my opinion.

The typical excuse is, "One lost sale won't hurt this company."
Of course it won't hurt the publisher much. It hurts developers. It hurts honest consumers. But they don't give a ****.

But let me throw this into your fragile argument: BUYING a video game does not give you rights to copy, share or redistribute it for free in any way, shape or form.

Developers DON'T whine about losing sales. PUBLISHERS do, because they're the ones that make money when their products are bought.
Now I know what you're thinking, "I don't care about publishers, they art the devils that bringeth evil into this world!"
Developers can not usually find the funding to make and distribute their own games. Publishers fund developers to make a game and then they distribute it to retailers. PUBLISHERS expect a return on this investment. If they don't make a profit off a game, then they start FIRING developers, or dev companies stop getting work from that publisher.

Piracy directly hurts game developers; programmers, artists and others that work directly with development companies. NOT because they lose sales (they don't MAKE sales), but because publishers won't hire them if they make games that don't SELL.
Piracy is essentially the theft of a SALE.

I don't expect you to understand anything I just wrote, though. I don't think you want to understand anything. You just want free **** and you're willing to take what you want.
If for nothing else but the act of breaking a law, pirates deserve punishment. There is no excuse for breaking a law, even an unjust one.

I agree that "triple A" titles are way to pricey, but two points:

High prices are not the cause of piracy. Indie games with ridiculously low prices are routinely pirated. Remember the humble indie bundle on Steam? That was pirated, even though you could pay anything you want for it. It was pirated a lot.

Second, major companies get away with high prices because people will still buy from them. MW3 is going to sell millions, and piracy isn't going to convince them to lower the price.
Honestly, what with the potential organizational power of the internet, I'm surprised boycotts aren't more popular.

It's not that I can't dodge the arrows, it's that they when I get within range, some players will run away and heal themselves until they can get back to distance or another player kills me while I'm chasing. It's a ******** tactic.

I would have thought the imbalances would be fixed. It IS the reason why this server had no servers after a couple of months of beta.

This game can be fun as long as people don't pick up the bow or abuse healing. Of course, no server would force any rules against it, besides, it's "part of the game".

Well, that part of the game is lame as F***. Fix this mod or we'll have dead servers again in a month.

Now, I'm not asking for a tactical shooter, but it looks like player movement needs to be slowed down. It looks to me like sprint is always on. I guess this is just personal preference, but is there any chance of player movement being slower for release?

Just please don't make it more like AoC or PVK2. Those games are good in their own right (cough), and this game should be unique.

So don't listen to all the whiners... keep making the game in the way your designed it. Listening to feedback is one thing, but once people start asking you to 'overhaul' this and 'completely remove' that, you might want to just tune them out.
