First Strike - Dev Diary #19 - RedMonkey999 blog

Hello everyone, my name is Sam “RedMonkey” Olson, I’m 21 years old, and I currently reside in Seattle, Washington (USA). I began my video game development career in 2003, learning 3D Studio Max and C++ programming through the DigiPen Institute's outreach programs. I began my modding career in 2005, with the short-lived Battlefield 2 mod Russian Assault, and haven't looked back since. I'm currently the lead modeler for First Strike, a Star Wars total conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2142, and I'm enjoying every minute of the ongoing development process (except, of course, for those long, sleepness nights in the ramp-up to a major release). My future plans include a full time job in the game development industry, but for the moment I'm content doing the work that I love for free.
