OK so, why Unreal 4?!
Well say we wanted to make the game not only look amazing but have split screen gameplay, an open world, controller support and maybe even port the game to consoles... Not that all of this would happen, but it'd be nice. With Unreal 4 we can port to all current gen consoles, Android, Mac, Linux and even the Nintendo Switch. So Mac, PC and Linux support are basically day 1 release goals. Anyway I am using Unreal 4 because it's just such a good development tool as well as its extremely useful, I won't go on but in the end it comes down to Unreal 4 or my own custom engine and Unreal 4 is ready, my Vulkan based engine is not, so amazing Unreal it is.

I'd like to say this game will come out Q2 2017 but I'm not 100% certain, I will be making a new page for it and porting it to Unreal 4 so it will be a standalone semi open game rather than a mod, which means we can add so much more to it.
Stop downloading this, it doesn't work. It was hooked up to CryDev but Cry is now EaaS so go and buy it.
Modding for SP and MP, the Mod Kit has been available since 2008. Even I used to make maps for MP, Someone (Thank you whoever you are) saw that you cant download it from anywhere else and reuploaded it.
You can pin the new lighting down to Source 2013, quite a good update.
Also we've been quite for a bit as we are not sure about either updating to Source 2 or continuing with Source. So we will hopefully be uploading some stuff

A flashlight has not been implemented yet and the glow is just from the reflective texture of the basic text on Unreal 4. Unfortunately it is only me working on this at the moment.
You do have to remember this game was built on an XP system. The differences between XP and Windows 8 are insane.
Not particularly but Unreal 4 has easier scripting and will still turn out better. I'll probably just leave it on Unreal 3 anyway, considering how many people want it on Greenlight. It would be easier to crowd fund the $100 USD for Greenlight and just run it through Unreal 3. Saves everyone the $250
On the Graphics front, thats why I chose Unreal the first few times. Although the graphics may not be AAA or advanced indie, they will still look decent.
Thanks! Yes it is going to be a bit of a challange to keep the scares in cooperative without jumpscares.
We will be keeping the horror and the being chased by the Oni, we will be re-imaginging the Oni to a scarier purple blob but will hopefully still have the choice for the original Oni.
That's because the guy who did this, who I thought at the time was a great mapper. Used a brush (wall/floor piece) as the bed. He should have used the bed model from Half-Life.
Should be a lot better on Unreal though.

Scratch that previous comment, you were exactly right. We are hoping to actually make some progress on the game this year.
norKtre55 is correct, it is a Japanese word and the original top down RPGMaker game was created by a Japanese student.
Yeah, we will be going with Source now due to all the user votes. From what I have tried alredy Source 2013 Multiplayer and Singleplayer do not work whatsoever. I have been working with Visual Studio for the past day trying to fix it. If we cannot fix it I will be looking at the CryEngine due to it being on Steam and the visual improvements graphically and gameplay wise.

also don't you think creating a Valve based game on the Unity engine kind of breaks the logic of Half-Life? I mean Source is a lot easier to learn than Unity, just check out 3kliksphillip!
What? That's ridiculous... I thought you would have at least a 660Ti 2Gb. Just show's how much dedication to optimisation you guys have put into this game. I'd love to see the same amount of ships on my 680 4Gb haha.
Yes, that is one of the many reasons we have returned to the CryEngine. It helps provide the amazingly immersive environment especially with the stealth features we are planning to implement
Whats going on with the trailer? Its all just base CryENGINE assets...
What do you mean? We are not 100% sure if we will be moving over to the Unreal engine. If we do hopefully it will be free. I know the main game will be free and working with the Unreal Engine will make the puzzles easier to create compared to the Source engine.

Yes, the game is still going to be based on the original RPG Maker game Ao Oni. We had changed the name around 4 months ago aswell.
What kind of items etc would you need modelling on Blender? I might be able to help you there

Yes I agree, this was a very early alpha map that we had worked on a while ago. We have changed the layout of the entire house but are hoping to have these maps in there after we edit them.
