I think you will not be dissapointed!
TGW was added to "Inside1918" group in Mod-DB.
That means we will get some support from them, but that is something we have yet to speak. We will inform you in the next update!
It is our intention to do so, but right now we are very scarce of mappers.
If you hear about a good mapper, tell him about us!
There are many ways to help!
We could always use extra modellers, texturers, 2D artists...
But, we really lack mappers!
So, if you know people with some skill in any of those fields, tell them about us!
We are working to release German and B.E.F faction.
As soon as we are done with them, we will start working on the French faction.
That´s all I can guarantee you.
I have yet to look a bit more into the code, but if it´s possible, we´ll do it.
Yes, both sides will have different kind of air support.
I wouldn´t say that we are going to include a lot of new maps in our first release, but we´ll do our best to include good ones, even if not a lot.
About that old map, it was lost...
There might be way to remove such references to the own unit.
That way you won´t hear references to Volksgrenadiers and all that.
But making a new set of voices would be such a big task that it is not even worth it.
At least for now.
Yes,3DS Max 8 is the best choice for CoH modding as it supports all the modding tools.
1. No,not in-map.
2. Those are Relic maps, there will be trenches in our custom maps (not in all of them of course, because as you said, not all the battles were trench-filled)
There will be no open beta,we will only release a polished mod build.
We chose to do 1918 first because of the great possibilities in terms of gameplay
The new tactics developed by 1918 allow us to make fun yet historical doctrines.
Also take in care that when we get done with 1918 equipment,it will be relatively easy to make some early war assets...
There won´t be bayonet charges at all,but nothing prevents you from using abilities to break supression and run faster!
Thanks for reporting.
We have fixed it already!
Your account should be activated by now too.
I´d say early 2011 but of course that´s just a guess.
We want our first release to be as polished as possible in terms of gameplay and balance.
It would be possible to code and somehow animate a melee attack.
But think about it...would it be worth the effort?
It would look glitchy and quite ugly...
Melee combat doesn´t suits CoH gameplay at all.
But we are open to suggestions!
It´s not supposed to be within the first release.
The question is not as simple as it might seem...the weapon´s damage is an important factor that must be handled with care,as it could ruin the gameplay.
But...short answer: yes
We will have different types of chemical weapons.
About gasmasks...soldiers will automatically put them on when they are under a gas attack.
We can´t answer that simply because we don´t know!
And by the way, that Feldkanone in the gallery is outdated...
First release will include German and British Empire.
Further releases will include France for sure...but there is nothing planned yet for the Ottoman army.
We want to achieve a fluid gameplay...a not so fast one but still dynamic.
And in fact, that is how 1918 warfare turned out to be...
But I have to say that someone could be dissapointed,as we won´t feature massive trench battles...
Well, first,in 1918 it was not like that at all,and second (and the most important reason),it wouldn´t work well in COH,it would be plain boring.
There won´t be carrier pidgeons...how would you represent that ingame?
As for Cavalry...I am afraid that it´s impossible for us to animate a horse...
The rifle is the same,it is just a captured version.
Ingame it is bigger than a regular rifle, actually, the scalling is well done.
Yes,that is the flamethrower tank.
It is called "Wex" or "Wechselapparat"
-There won´t be compatibility problems with the EF mod.
-The spiked helmet (Pickelhaube) was already outdated by 1916 and TGW takes place in 1918.
-It wasn´t a steel helmet with a spike...it was a boiled-leather helmet that offered little protection against sharpnel and other dangers.
