Yes! Im already working on the new Mod, i made templates in Paint.Net for the new Maps, but im training Mapping in Hammer editor 4.X, yes, its the Source Engine, my test Counter-Strike Source Map, cs_cuban, looks really good for the first one! Im training Design and clipping for my other Maps, screenshot:
cs_cuban will have a market place, 4 alleys and the back of an hotel with Swimming Pool, you can enter the Hotel "backyard" through some crates

Im still working on the CT sopawnpoint i will release the finished map here, and yes, im adding the 3d Skybox and dont use brushes.
Oh, something about my mapping history: I dont needed any tutorials, i only started the editor and clicked, then i saw the buttons and tested them out, the clipping and something else i had from the SDK sample Maps.

qeustion: i wanna learn a bit more about HL2 mapping because i map for HL1 and HL2 (last time not anymore iam a bit with left4dead and other games) and i would like to know more i can do much but triggers and such arent really my thing :( i hope you can help me more out
