Well if you did include spartans, at this point in time besides the training they went through IIRC they hadn't yet received the augmentations or the Mjolnir armor. So technically besides having extensive skills at killing people the spartans wouldn't be all that much tougher to kill than normal people, assuming you put your rounds on the target.....

Before Booster got the Venture that limit was really just academic, no ships for the civilian sector had anywhere near the limit prior to the Errant Venture......

As someone who's played both Act of War and Generals, I have to object to the remark that AOW is generals with bells and whistles.

The 2 games are quite different both in play style and setting. Using your criteria there are many other games that could be described as General with extras, the similarities you speak of are basically those of classic RTS games....

Really?? Then you've never read the OFFICIAL (As in the GAMES MANUAL) Lore, That by the time that an infection managed to get that far the crew had already overloaded the fusion reactors!! I mean come on, fighter pilots were adding self destruct switches and protocols to they're ships, I doubt a Cap ship would let an infection progress that far without blowing themselves up!!!

Also the Lore for this unit explains the Naar Protocol, The plasma flooding one.

I'll end my rant with this quote from the manual "From that day on, the Naar Directive, as it became known, became the standard response from Allied heavy capital ships to Beast infections. And, while the price in Hiigarian life is always high, instant death in a blast of high-energy plasma is preferable to the twisted immortality of becoming part of the Beast."

(Poor HW:Cataclysm manual, the only thing holding it together is the duct-tape I put on it...)

True, the Ion Cannon Sat has to be directly over a target to fire, Shoot off a handful of railgun rounds and you can destroy it, or at least render it inoperable...

Who said I was trying to convince them to use the halo:wars stuff??? Personally I could care less about seeing the Phoneix Class in any Homeworld mod, Now Sins of a Solar Empire is another matter entirely!!! At least there it has a premade Niche of it's own that it fits perfectly in.....

True on the Halcyon class cruisers, the only reason the Pillar of Autumn was refitted into the ship it was was because of the Halcyon class' primary attribute, It's unique hull design. It was basically a big honeycomb of titanium alloy. The few remaining Halcyons in service at the time showed that this form of hull could more easily withstand covenant plasma weapons, Infact if you remember the PoA was at Arcadia before the Spirit of Fire showed up there, Infact it was heavily damaged during that engagement where the other ships had been destroyed.....

sorry, If you read the various entries under War Assets in ME3 It clearly shows that this is a cruiser class vessel. Although one such vessel did have a slight shipyard mixup and wound up with a Dreads drive core. Got turned into a SHIELD ship to compensate, AKA a Cruiser with DREAD class Kinetic Barriers....
