"If we are unsuccessful in getting them, we will release the game for PC."
So wait, if you guys do get the dev kits then you won't release the game on PC?
anyhow thanks for your efforts
looks nice, hopefully you'll keep the tattered cloak and/or skirt/sarong
Maybe its just me but I wouldn't make quick-time/one move melee kill, cover-based shooting, and auto-killing with tags a feature. It just feels as though you guys are late to the show. However, I like the character, he feels very Rorschach.
How fast do SSDs move in gravity wells? That is to say, could one "kite" interdictors and in effect trap it in a gravity well?
I love how intricate this is becoming. Really looking forward to this.
Hm... interesting. Even if I know it is in "x" planet's gravity well, will I be able to see it's actual position in space? Additionally, I'm assuming it can't be harmed with AoE when "invisible", but can it still be physically blocked forcing it to either go under or above said blockade?
I have the same picks lore-wise, since I can sympathize/believe in their order. The idea of an efficient and rational empire that serves its people, while understanding that at times a firm hand is needed (woops my inner totalitarian utilitarianism is leaking out).
Gameplay-wise I'd have to say Isard. This comes from a Sun-Tzu mentality, instead of spreading my forces thin, I can use intelligence to choose my battles.
A question though: Can Isard's ability spot the Night Hammer? Or would it depend on where the Night Hammer is, i.e. in phase lanes it can be seen, but in gravity wells it is invisible.
lol the shield is a preview
Grimdark universe vs naive reasonable individuals.
Can't wait till I cut some samurai down as a Tenchu-styled ninja
GOD DAMN IT COUNT THE CHICKENS! THEY WILL HATCH (Well unless they're male, then we gotta kill them, but that's an industrial thing).
That reminds me, did they ever do anything with Creed's tac genius trait? Or at least explain to me how warhound titans could "ambush" my tau pathfinders?
This art looks brilliant
Are you going to bring back the ability to play the campaign in this mod?
@ALECOS Their plot armour is only second to ultramarine armour... and that's why soldiers in real wars paint themselves blue and hold inflexibly to an absurd set of rules (yes, I'm talking about UN peacekeepers).
@HTRK74JR Which mods are you referring to, 'cause I'd love to at least play the ground combat instead of auto-resolving or (depending on the mod) just blowing the planet up.
@Sly442 True (ewoks, using rocks lmao), I just find it so absurd to watch my troops duelling each other. It reminds me of action/martial arts movies where everyone waits patiently to go at it one at a time. Medieval 2 for all its faults felt like the best total war for melee combat, at least for me.
That's just it, they decreased it to what it should be. In the star wars legacy universe, stormtroopers are crack soldiers, with blaster proof armour, are given some of the best weaponry, and are supported by ridiculous amounts of mechanized forces. I just can't imagine how you could nerf any of this without it looking absurd. It would get quite boring to watch wookies trying to move close enough with bowcasters to hit stormtroopers. Even in forested areas, I'd imagine bombing runs would clear everything.
With archers, and pre-ww2 weapons it was kinda enjoyable since rates of fire were quite low, accuracy wasn't that great, and melee still had some relevance. You could position riflemen, take advantage of reloading, use cavalry, etc. With archers, simply getting hit by an arrow wouldn't kill you, and they could fire fast enough to keep a near endless stream of death.
However, much of my apprehension also comes from the horrible ground combat in Star Wars: EaW. That and, I've always found Total War to be at its best when the focus is on melee.
Excited, although I am a little skeptical of a total war game built around ranged combat, especially modern/future weapons.
we'll miss your updates, but have fun
omfg.... THIS IS THE REASON I BOUGHT ROME 2.
f:yes, if you can pull that off.
I believe thats just the engine limitations.
Thanks, I tried just grouping them and it works out much better.
Hmm... is it just me or does the flagship always fly like 3 seconds ahead of the rest of the fleet? My super-carriers keep getting torn apart, so I end up setting up autumns as flagships to reduce losses.
Otherwise great alpha.
It seems to me almost as though the average height has gotten shorter, or rather the variation has increased? Either way, I love the enthusiasm you guys have and am getting really excited now.
I still feel weird about female IG, not because I think women can't fight. Its just that the greatest strength of the Imperium is its huge manpower, and that is built upon the power of a huge population. This in turn is built upon natural births, so it seems as though the Imperium would prefer male troops for the meat grinder. Although the Sisters do seem to be only slightly above the IG.
The model reminds me a lot of the administrator (I think "Dalia"?) from the SP campaign.
