I tried the GOG.COM version as well as a dvd version. Still crashed. For me it always starts to crash after I accept the missions from the Bar.

I found the articles about the issues with quick saving.
The game keeps crashing sometimes when I change the level. I noticed that after accepting some side quests from Sidorovich the game will crash every time you try and go to Garbage. It happened a couple of times after accepting some mission from the Bar and then trying to change level. Now it's crashing while I try to change the level to the Bar. It also crashes if I try to load the autosave or the most recently saved game. It's pretty annoying to be set back by an hour or so.
Sometimes the game crashes on quicksaving.

The game is shaping out quite nicely. I like the HUD design, because it's simple and clear to read.

What if I bother to tell you what I didn't enjoy when playing it?
I downloaded the mod on the first day it was released. Having tracked it for a few years, I was thrilled to finally play it.
The intro was pretty suffocating and unnerving, which made me question the overall experience, but after that brief moment, it began to build some suspense and create a dark atmosphere through it's lack of enemies or any type of characters. That state lasted long enough to get the player used to the environment and prepare him for the first enemy encounter. That is one thing I did not like and I believe it could have been done better.
Another aspect I didn't enjoy is the overall level design. The world is built chaotically and is often unclear where to head. I understand you want to put emphasis on exploration, but when the player loses direction it's bad. Using the light a lot more often to guide him through the level would have been an excellent choice.
Thirdly, the hand animation when opening the doors. That must have been the most annoying thing aside the poor ambient sounds and some pitch black areas.
Overall, the mod wasn't that bad, but wasn't very good either. There are a lot of areas that can be improved upon, the story especially. However, one thing you managed to get right is the enemies, which are downright scary.
I rated the mod a 7 because I think it has a lot of potential.
You can always change the name to Call of Dniepr: Call harder.

Great job for coming this far.
First of all, don't fill an area with props just for the sake of making it look "detailed". Try to give each prop a purpose for being there. Create a story through the level, but one that is reasonable.
Secondly, I would focus on completely replacing the vanilla textures since they have been overused throughout the years and mods. I have seen some of the textures making their way into Valve's latest games.
Looking at these three screenshots gives me a generally bad impression on the mod's direction. I know everything is subject to change, but some things need to be corrected early on.
Fox mostly comes at night, mostly.

You can search up for free textures on the internet. There are quite a lot of sites with a huge data base of HD textures. The problem is getting them in the right format, so they can be used in the game.

Nooo! It does not look like Cryengine 2 ... It looks like Source. What's the difference? it uses just a few textures, detail sprites, nice models and lighting. And what's the result? THAT good looking picture!
