Created the Half-Life mod "Sands of War" left it early in Alpha stage. Then started two very short lived mods. Arctika for HL and Uprising for HL2. They never made it into Alpha as our coder quit. Ran the gaming league Major League Online from 2002-2007. Its been inactive since but we still have a URL up.

Yeah for sure we need something done with the eyes. Ive already talked with the texture artist. Not sure if there is something he can do or if the modeler has to do something. Or if its just the pose or lighting etc.

I advised maybe more wrinkles or the dark look under the eye. Maybe just more darkness to the blue of the eyes. I dunno.

Anyhow we are always looking for help. If you already know how we can make this model better, then please stop in our forums and join the team, even if just to help us tweak things.

This map is just underway, just trying to get several maps ready for Alpha. By Public Beta this map will look even better.
As for the backgrounds, some maps will have dense jungle and mountain backgrounds, some more open to vary the feel. Your just looking at one view of this map ;)

I agree the gun needs more used look. In fact it has it, it just isnt showing up in this video, but check the images elsewhere for other shots of the gun.

Today I actually bought a Vietnam Helmet. This darker helmet is actually just used late in the war. Its the version I bought. Early in the war they used a much lighter simpler camo. The guy I bought my helmet from had one of those also. Finally some helmets had plain covers and others were greatly faded and the camo almost invisible.

Yeah in Vietnam's cities bikes were big during the war, still are. No city map would be complete without them. Some rusty and some new. For now its just a great map prop, not sure if we plan to animate them but could be something fun for Beta, we are still working on Alpha and need one more mapper.

In the original HL mod ToD they had civilian bots.
After we get the player models and weapons done, that's something we hope to look into adding.
Again this is just a show case. Possum is planning to adds tons of details, like trash, bomb craters and more for Beta testing, for now he is just getting map ready for alpha and doing all the textures and models from scratch.
This is why the one map is taking some time. He is normally a speed mapper and can map a league quality map in like 15 minutes. Well it seems that way lol.

At this point it is a static model.
Next up are animation, though it is not clear if that will happen for Alpha but it is an idea we are kicking around for Beta, if it doesnt lag too much. Im not sure what he has planned next, the NVA tank or animation.

All of your suggestions are good ones and it is all up to our coder. We have talked to a second coder who plans to join. If they can code anything that adds to realism, while keeping it fun, we would approve.
We will be announcing a map contest with cash and prizes for jungle maps as soon as we are in Alpha.

Also, I cant edit my earlier reply. Look for the detail like the fans moving, the fog rolling thru at one point, the wind chimes moving (sound coming for those), water overflowing roofs and gutters and bouncing back up off the street or sidewalk etc. Keep in mind this is pre Alpha. I've seen his finished maps before and it will only get better.

Never played Viet Cong. I come from HL background and the mod Tour of Duty. Later I got into BF2 EoD mod. I guess I will have to try VietCong game.
First release is MP, then we will do a singleplayer.

No weapons will be accurate looking but adjusted for balance so gameplay wont be affected. Teams will have classes (Like ToD, DoD or TFC/TF2).
