Quirel @ JUST WHAT!

What it boils down to is politicking between different departments in the Army. It's worth looking into beyond this post (ignore CadianConscripts. Guy doesn't know what he's talking about), but in the tests of both the M14 and AR15 were rigged.

The M14 had to go because it was unsuited for jungle combat (And really, was based on an obsolete combat model). But the Army Ordnance Office just had to have a select-fire rifle with a 7.62mm round... no matter how hard it was to control in fully automatic fire.

The AR 15 had it's problems with reliability issues, but those were fixed in the first few years, when the right propellant was issued and troops were trained in the appropriate care of the new rifle.

Sigh.
Time to weigh in.

The Hornet was confirmed to be a pre-Halo 3 vehicle in Contact Harvest. You just didn't see them in Halo 2, and the Autumn wasn't carrying them in the original Halo.

Mantises were confirmed to be new in The Thursday War, and weren't that great of a vehicle in Halo 4.
And yes, mechs suck for the UNSC. =D

No, they're not 'Upscaled combat armor', and they're not going to need 'very little training'.

Think about it. If you are 20 feet taller and weigh 5 tons more, is your balance going to be the same? And good luck walking on the same ground that conventional vehicles can cross.

I can't praise this mod nearly enough. The buildings, textures, and vehicles have all been excellent, but this is the one exception.

Good to see this updated!

It's kind of disappointing that you can't get the game to run the way y'all originally envisioned, but I imagine that it's also somewhat elating. Now you know how far you can push the engine.

Also, love the new UI.

So, copy-pasting the description from a Halo wiki, without even taking the time to edit out the annotations and cover your arse?

Loving the work ethic.

I'll admit, the Revenant looks passable and will look even better when its textured, but I'd rather see a short description or no description at all rather than seeing one that took three seconds to copy and paste from someone else.

>The planet cracker was a last ditch weapon for use against
>the covenant "Homeworld" (They didn't know there wasn't one,
>it was built before halo 1) And consisted of nine fusion
>warheads encased in lithium triteride armor. When detonated,
>it compresses its fissionable material to neutron-star
>density, boosting the thermonuclear yield a hundredfold.
>Called A NOVA bomb, It even had a recorded message for
>the covenant,

Nice saving throw against admitting you were wrong.

Think about it. If I was able to cite two nuclear weapons, with the names and the nuclear yield, do you think that I wouldn't know exactly what the NOVA Bomb was, what it was to be used for, or that Whitcomb had stored one last taunt in the device to be played before it was activated?

That whole post is irrelevant to the fact that nuclear weapons were NOT rare in the UNSC's arsenal. Due to the toll the war was taking on the UNSC's arsenal, weapons-grade fissile materials were in short supply around 2531, necessitating a raid on a URF base. There is no evidence that this shortage was long-lived, and every indication (as well as common sense) that it wasn't.

And, as pointed out before, Fusion Missiles need not have a nuclear warhead. They could just as easily have a nuclear powerplant, which would give higher speeds than chemical propulsion.

>Why Fusion Torpedoes??? Any form of nuclear weapon was

The Fury Nuclear Hand Grenade and the HAVOK Tactical Nuclear Warhead would like to have a word with you...

>Even the planetcracker they made in the novels was a
>massive expenditure of nuclear material from their
>reserves, and they only built one.....

Gosh, an entire planet cracker? The one with a TNT equivalent of several EKATONS? If they only produced one of those, it's a wonder that smaller ordinance ever got off the assembly line.
/sarcasm.

Note that a 30 megaton nuclear warhead in the Haloverse is:
>Considered to be a /tactical/ warhead.
>Transportable by infantry. Yeah, Spartans were carrying it, but if it's tactical, it's gotta be pretty mobile.
>Three times as powerful as the largest nuke the US ever fielded.

I don't know.
Normally, I like your designs. I really do. But this one has a real... plasticky look. More like a Mattel toy, or something imported from Japan, than something made by Bungie.

Maybe reduced team colors would help (They did in StarCraft II...) or maybe some clutter has to go.

Either way, not one of your best.

It's a proven fact that if you beat the HW2 engine with latex gloves for several weeks on end, and then put the starving wreck in the same room as a pot of roasted pork, it'll do whatever you tell it to.

Other than that, no clue.

As for YOU, G-257, you've got a correction coming at you.
*cracks knuckles*

The incident where a F-117 got shot down was largely a freak accident. The F-117 was nearing 15 years old at the time, and had been known to the world at large for ten years. The people who shot it down were running Soviet-designed hardware on a longer wavelength than usual (in fact, it had been specifically modified to spot the F-117s), making the fighter momentarily visible when the bomb bay doors opened.

The US hasn't lost another stealth fighter or stealth bomber yet. Stealth is not a dead issue.

Meh, I'm not sure if I agree with you or not, just being the new hire here. On one hand, more mods means there's a higher chance of good ones being made. On the other hand, you have more fingers.

But seriously folks, it WOULD be nice to see a consolidation of talent amongst the Mods. Be as it may, I do believe we're looking for a helping hand.
