u need to work on those torches heh, but other than that it looks brilliant!
the excuse that the engine is to complex is really just bullcrap, there are more, and there is less experienced modders, heck there are modders who could make their own engine if they had the time to

oh my god thats a hawt render setting!
the lower parts (handle) of the model looks quite blocky and messy, also parts of it looks very uncofirmatable to hold onto, since its so blocky (giivng of a sharp look)
the upper part looks brilliant though
just need working on those animations, but i supppose its a placeholder? x) you got some amazing lightning going on there, graphically very impressive

well, I tend to buy indie games more often than AAA titels
same quality, less money.
60$ or 10$ for the same, or better quality? 10$ ofc.
I am totally supportive of demos, but theyre getting fewer and fewer, as the greater companies say: "they cost to produce", and thats true.
however, I have definitly seen a decrease in demos, both on indie and AAA, which is quite sad.
I try before I buy, and if I see a demo I grab that one instead of the torrent.
Also: Multiplayer helps, i know all games cant have it, but it helps

if your going with maya or 3ds max you better be cash ready.
Blender is a good choice, but a lot different than 3ds max or maya

thanks, ive done head modelling before, in 3ds max, however its a lot easier when sculpting i fint it, so iam definitly going to keep doing organic stuff in Zbrush

its still modified (modded) however you look at it.

my guess is that it isnt resource needy at all considering my laptop, which barely can run binding of isaac,minecraft, dungeon defenders and such games runs this really smoothly
The less stuff a hud has is better in my opinion: I woudlnt want a stance or weapon icon.
Barely an aim icon, I prefer "realism" in that regard, like Red orchestra 2, there is barely any hud at all there.
In crysis 1 and 2 you could set it so you didnt have an crosshair and such.

They kind of become black towards the edge, might be a smoothing problem? Or it's part of the texture? anyway, i think that's what makes it look blunt

Just a question, from the videos, there's notmuch to test really is there? maybe try the gun handling and thats it? since you have no finished map as far as i can see and no enemies?

texture size of 1024x1024 was an deliberate choice, and do you mind explaining what you mean with "the wood doesn't look real", since by saying that you could just aswell say: "it looks bad" and i would bet an equal amount of information from that.

looking great, however did you use a 16+ cylinder to the barrel? thats unnecessary, can pump out more detail to the gun itself istead!
the handle doesnt look to comfy doesnt it? istead of rounding just the edges, i would ugh how to putit? Pull out some polies a bit so it will look more comfy:P looks good otherwise, i would also take Wirds advices into account =)

seems to be a huge waste of polies at the barrels, and the barrels could use some more interesting texture on em, same for the "body", moar detail on texture!!and less bevels at the sides!
the spikes in the front, what are those? 32sided?
lower down the polycount a bit and make a UVmap, and make a nice texture with a bit more details and it will be grreat!
the metal is looking really plain and booring and the wood is way to bright and plastic looking. Model is looking fine
mm but better than red, as of now it blurrs into the backround, not good!

haha yeah, simple method though, add a "skylight" and enable "Light tracer", it is simple yet very effective^^ thanks
i can see there is a little bit of poly reduction which can be done^^ like i can see a unnecessary line going through the top + bottom + back and front of the model, but it looks great^^
i wonder where the clips go...? model looks great otherwise and the wood texture is just awesome, however cant say i like the bolts (they are huge and seem to do no good at all?) and the "paintings" on the "bodys" left side. other than that it is amazing

oh and you could easily take away a basicly all polygons from the clip and put into the model itself, same goes for the barrel, i guess at 18+ sided cylinder? now tell me WHY is that necessary? and why is every edge chamfered? that is just plainly a waste of polies
then bodies are a lot harder to make than M4s and require totally different modelling techniques.
u have to change some things at the handle, its probably becuz u triangulated it, can be changed if u remove the edges there and then cut new ones to make it triangulated ;) Great model otherwise^^ very accurate

Daz, there is never anything wrong with concepts as pictures from movies and such doesnt always give you the information needed to make that thing=P
that wasnt very good, did you subdivide it? if so there might be some problems right there with the low poly =P
try redoing that place from scratch

well, first, you already get too little ammo, why do so you get less? you get 600caps, you buy ammo for 600caps and BOOM theyre gone =P but i agree at the XP but thats about it =P
the graphics was good in FC2 =P i dont complain :P
