Should be something along the lines of cl_phys_timescale / phys_timescale with a value set to less than one (0.3 for example).
Or demo_timescale if you're playing back a demo file.
The beard shaving moment in the livestream proved to be a surprising tear jerker for me. We shall all miss you, John's beard.
I now expect the ritual burning of the beard as per ancient Norse ship burial tradition.
I think that a couple of pictures back it was said that the texture was a placeholder so I wouldn't worry so much.
And as an update, after numerous failed tries, the stone still doesn't break. If it's supposed not to, then color me incompetent, for I don't see a way to progress forward in the mod.
I'm having the same damn problem as Ekonk. From the mod's website, I gather that when you push the stone down the first floor of the main hall it should break and the skull should become usable, and the skeleton key is received AFTER you enter through the gate with the skulls, can I get that confirmed? Because the stone just fell down in my case and it's completely solid. Possible game-breaking bug that could be looked in to? I'll restart the level and see if it breaks once I push it again, but still, that's some lost effort on my and perhaps others' parts.
This screenshot is just sparkling!
Pretty awesome, reminds me of Silent Hill 2 and needless to say that's a good thing.
Nice write-up and a cool mod to kick-start the feature with. R&D is a joy to play, it's one mod that you'll come back to just because of the memorable moments and humor.
Hey guys, I see someone downvoted most of the comments on the mod. Quite mature. ._.
You need to jump on the catwalk you used to destroy the target cinder block, then go inside the hanging container and use the rail that's inside to walk on and navigate forward.
After playing this mod through and through two times I can state it's definitely more than I expected when looking at the media in every direction: overall length, mapping quality, originality and humor. Moments like fireproof and bullet-resistant antlions, room-clearing microwaves, demonic zombie emitting gnomes, unfortunate ceiling cats, Waste Transfer Facilities, vengeful zombie torsos, vehicle contraptions that fly in slow-motion, it just keeps on giving. Wasn't sure at first, but now I can safely back the opinions of a couple of other users that said this mod is the puzzle counterpart of the action blast that Minerva: Methastasis was.
By looking at the rank and views right now I'm more than happy to see that Research & Development is getting the recognition it deserves, because it's one mod that should be played.
By you.
Now.
I loved this part of the mod, swinging on those catwalks never gets old.
Name kinda reminds me of Mr. Whoopee from the GTA series ( Gta.wikia.com ). All it needs is a magical jingle every time it cuts a zombie in half and the experience would be complete!
There's also a "MS Paint crack & keygen" folder.
Damn those guys are leet.
ACK, it's so... tiny. ._.
Damn your teasing, guys.
I disagree.
Hey, hey, hey, nice concepts there Ballsopt! Remind me to buy you a beer later.
Oh man. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy this mod more than some triple A titles I've played.
Cannot wait.
That vaguely reminds me of Lord of the Rings, huh.
I can't wait for Overgrowth guys, you're doing such a real quality job, big props!
Jesus Christ, it's The Whaleman, get in the car!
I was so looking forward to this amazing mod.
Such a shame. Such a shame.
Seconded, I AM impressed. It really does justice to the whole Prottos-Zerg hybrid concept IMO.
Much love for Source from me, it's amazing what mods and indie games can achieve with it if they really want to, and its scalability is undeniable, still one of the greatest engines out there.
O hai guize, mod iz ded, ololol. [/oldjoke]
But seriously, rock on, BM peoples. "Your business is appreciated". (cookie to whoever gets the reference)
I'm also very glad to hear you aren't forgetting about us community folk, keeping us updated in one way or another, be it with nice features like the hands-on interview (which I really liked by the way) or media releases which, while far between, seem to rocket the mod's attention level to the skies. I sometimes fear the internet will break at the time you release it. :P
No need to mention the qualities of the mod, I can write down a million words and they still would not convey the awesomeness of the media you have released so far, I think people would agree when I say you fully deserve the public attention you've received with the latest screenshots and especially the trailer. Just wanted to wish you the best of luck. AND ROCK ON!
