I'm Jameson Pate, 22 years old and currently living in the state of Wyoming(at an Air force base). I like football, basketball, weight lifting and other sports, 3d modeling is a hobby that have been doing for quite a few years now.
I love stuff like this, just bought the whole quake series and experiencing dark places/quake for the first time.
I tried this and noticed that it and epsilon are very similar, their are some key differences though. This has more gore, the weap sounds are new, and some of the textures look different. Epsilon has more graphical differences(the lobby level when you start the game for example and E1M4(the fog at the bottom of the pit when you swim up out of the water). I think i noticed a few more environmental things in epsilon like rain in certain areas as well. For now i will stick with that as it adds more atmosphere, if you add these things i'll gladly switch!
I do have a question though. How do you properly install and run the mission packs under dark places? They are in the main dark places directory along with the Id1 folder. When i try and run them under the mod section in dark places they run(under the -sdl.exe only) and when i start the game it crashes because it can't find "think_rain"(in epsilon) I tried this mod and it was something about cant find seven_...(idk) but either way its always something. I have the mission packs off steam so i know how the folders are supposed to be set up. Dark places just finds a reason to crash.
Is this better than epsilon quake? If so how?

Are you working on any independent or other game projects at the moment?
From what the description says, you need both the main and expansion pack with the links posted above. If you arent sure that you have the latest main version just redownload/install that along with the exp version.

I miss the good ol days of guns, aiming if you want to, and blowing your enemies to bits. This looks very polished for alpha footage and i wish you guys the best. Keep working hard! Good choice on UE3!

This was a great game, had a lot of hard levels and the plot was pretty demented. I remember using my meat cleaver gun to chop angry cows heads off and the boss fights were pretty memorable and challenging. The camera angles always sucked *** but the game was one that i could never finish as a kid, there was always an area my camera would now show me so i couldn't progress into the final levels.
Seriously? a 6/10 rating? I just gave it a 10/10 hoping to balance it out a little bit.
This is by far the most original and crazy doom 1(and 2) doom mod i've ever played. The new enemies are hilariously brought to life and the music and sounds just add to the atmosphere. This isn't your amazing 3d graphic new doom2 mod but ****, i played this on the doomsday engine and the lighting and colors are just fantastic on said engine.
Give this a real shot before you knock it, definitely in my top three doom total conversions.

I used the load level cheat "idclev xx" cheat and got it to load doom2 levels just fine so i got it working one way or another lol. After i beat a level it loads fine.
One thing you guys probably already know is that at wider/higher resolutions the 3d models tend to not stretch with the screen so they tear or they appear floating above my hud(weapons and arms).
having some trouble using skull tag...
Whenever i start the game it only allows me to play doom 1 with the mod, i select doom2 in the skull tag menu but it loads doom1 and if i remove the doom1 wad it wont let me play at all. any help? its patched and my copy of doom2 works fine.
Thank you for making me fall in love with doom all over again! This mod really shows you how creative people can be, please keep updating it :]

Which doom port that this is compatible is the best in all areas? I don't want to try them all, i use to love Jdoom because it was graphically the best.
