Greetings stranger, who has arrived at my Moddb page. I'm a Source Modder playing MW2 in most of my spare time. I'm an experienced mapper, and I'm open to help you with all your mapping problems. Also, feel free to ask me to make a model for your mod, I'm happy to do it, especially if it's guns. This looks awesome, you should (because you have a 40k avatar) know that Marines spend most of their free time with decorating stuff, and why not their armor? I meen there's even a machine gost in there, so why not do something like this? It looks really like 40k, of course this should be a veteran marine, but then it's just perfect, I love the detail.

Use a displacement with blend textures,a bit more props and change the lights ( as said before) and it should turn out pretty nice.

Well it's too gray it will get boring when you play it, and also in sowiet installations there weren't red stars everywhere, that'S just a cliche, and it'S kinda weird to see the same red star in the same damage state everywhere.

It could use some details on the displacements. I suppose you replace the erath by cliffs/rocks using the ep2 cave stuff (maybe). Like this it has also too little colour variety.

Other then that it looks really good, i like the bridge, it kinda reminds me of black mesa :D

Looks good as it is, it isn't really bright at night, I think the lighting captures the night time atmosphere pretty well, and from what I can see (:D) it has the hl-2 atomsphere.

Yea open areas should be in the mod. The look of this reminds me of one of the best part of Get a Life when you came out of the school severs and were running throungh these abandoned buildings filled with zombies with a helicopter just flying by.

Nah I dont think so, not everything in hl2 has to be full with trash. And also, here you can see that the mapper tried to add intresting brushwork (and succeeded), so not many props are necessary.

Yea make lightning a bit darker and it will look really good. And yea a tip: use little (junk) props (found in props_junk for example), they often pimp the atmosphere, and make places look dirty and lost ( which is good for ya mod). And yea keep up working, your mod keeps improving :D

Lol, wtf? This aint NO generic zombiemod, this is about the resonance cascade/portal storms which is much more intresting then most of the zombie Hl2 mods... And yea Joure the screenie looks really totally awesome, but I still say that the graffity decals are being a bit too bright, make'em darker and it will look perfect :D

I mean they look good, they just dont fit in the are because the look too ''new'', while the wall looks fairly old and dusty. On other places the decal should look great, it's just wrong for the ''feel'' of the area here .

Yea, it's good that you will do not so much underground maps, because one thing I hate about a lot of source mod's is that they play in bunker-like areas, which have not even a trace of a ''free-choice'' feeling. But your mod has this feeling, which makes it a lot better then a lot of other SP mods! :D

They can be both, such buildings, made out of this kind of bricks are usually older then those made of concrete blocks. My grandma lived in a block which looked pretty similr to that one :D

Yea, could be, I also think that most of the people went to the cities, since it seems the logical solution, and also most fansites say that. Also I think that the military also held some bases in the forests and the areas surrounding the cities, since they would need some food supplies too. So the story you have seems to be really fitting, since the sub-urb you start in doesn't look really big, and you can assume that most of the population fled when the first monsters started to wreck havoc. And yea, awesome mapping!

Use photos samples. This has no architecture, just a square brush witha texture on it... Look on a picture of an old town building, and think about its looking like it is, ok.. And then look at this, without the texture, and think what it looks like... See the difference? Even without the texture the brushes should look like a building...

OK now it looks better, but the combine wall now looks a bit wrong... Just change it to brick to and then this looks OK, but the walls seem a bit bland, maybe you should add some architecture to it, you know make some more brushes, or maybe not, i dont know... Also the top texture is the same as on the walls, which is a bad practice. You should better use another texture there, maybe just another brick texture, i dont know, cause i cant map atm so im just commenting on other mods :D

The bridge just has a texture which doesnt fit there, and its only one but if you change it, it will look great. But actually i really cant understand why the guys said that its too far from the original... This mod looks really fantastic, and if they change a door, it doesnt mean they made something ''wrong''. To port an old game to a newer engine its not only necessary to add never models and textures, but also change some things, because the requirements for games did so, too, and that's exactly what the mod does.

Dude, it's about how effective a unit is, and "fear factor" could be applied to any vehicle, why don't armies today make all combat vehicles look like spiders?

The design presented here is really fragile, and would be destroyed easily. Not so NOD-like, since flame tanks are more expensive, unlike the usual cannon-fodder they use. Instead, they should be more stealthy and maybe be able to dig themselves or something. That would resemble the Brotherhood's doctrine a lot more.

You should plan how you will do a gun, for example it's easier to do rounded parts from already 3d shapes, while other parts that are mostly flat either way can be done perfectly well with extrunding. Just hinting ;D

Doesn't it block the field of view a bit? Like this it blocks out a large part.

This game sucked balls so hard, all the missions actually ended up by killing someone, sandbox feeling practically wasn't there because of these ''checkpoints'' every 100 meters, which made it impossible to explore the world and the story was practically nonexistent, since you mostly ended up killing people.

The houses on the pictures could take a little more brushwork, because right now they look like squares with building textures on them. You should add some more detail to them by adding stuff like balconies and so on. Also you could use the destroeyd buildingparts in the HL2 debris models folder. The area right above the street looks good ;D
