I like mods. A lot. Also, I play drums. I am going to the Art Institute of Philadelphia for Film.
Damn, I'm just glad to hear something about the mod.
What can I say? I like what you're doing. In these shots, it's clear that you have a realistically proportioned sense of architecture.
Everything's starting to take shape.
Stop making me want it more!
Despite needing a few touch-ups, which you've mentioned, looks great!
This is probably the best reason I've ever heard to delay a mod. You've got my support; won't stop tracking.
Mapping was basic and mod lacked polish. Having said that, I saw some really great ideas here. The part with the hallway and the mirrors breaking and the part right at the end were done pretty well. More non-HL monsters would be cool. Custom content is paramount in horror mods especially. For people that have played HL2 and any of the plethora of mods available, familiarity takes away from the horror atmosphere. Good so far, keep it up!
So I would know too if I was in or within close proximity to the United Kingdom?
Well now this is an odd picture. Only in the sense that I can't connect it with any part of the story of the original.
I love video updates.
You don't need to know a language to know good acting, and that was good acting. Though that's judging from a small sample. ONLY thing I might suggest is a better mic, but the quality wasn't bad.
As always, excellent textures regardless of differential theme. Also, what did valve do?
Really hope you guys find a coder. I'm looking forward to this.
Well, now I'm a lot more excited for this mod. It looks like it's going to turn out to be incredibly faithful to Wolfenstein 3d. The attention to recreate the environments shows an intimacy towards the source material.
Yeah. The primary source of frustration came mostly towards the end and also the very end of the game. Whenever you were trying to ascend a series of objects especially as in the finale was really annoying because they kept knocking me off. Again, I did like the mod. I, like you, gave it an 8 when it came out in 2009.
I liked Korsakovia, just not as much as Dear Esther. My only gripes are the combat and the mapping. The maps I felt were too open spaced at parts, while some of the indoor environments were too alike, too monotonous. Fighting the invisible creatures, which as everyone knows were invisible fast zombies, was annoying I found. Mainly a nuisance at the end of the game when you are ascending that surreal junk pile. Personally, I felt that the way the enemies were designed and implemented into the mod actually broke my immersion a little bit. It's cool that Chinese Room keep trying new things, but I flat out didn't like dealing with the enemies. What I'm dying to wait for is the Dear Esther remake.
It's awesome how it's hard to tell which angle this is from. God I can't wait to play this!
Well, I hope to a certain extent you are. That would increase the immersion factor certainly.
Looks great, especially for half-life. It's kinda early over here, you know...
Pretty skilled modeling here.
The arms and face are a little blocky and the hands are too thin but overall an excellent job! Hans Grosse turned out excellent as well.
****! I am obsessing over this mod these days... It's hard to convey to you, the developers of this game, how much anticipation is building up. This relatively uneventful in-game picture you guys submitted has at least partially succeeded in satiating my irrational hunger for content from this mod. In short: looking forward to it.
I liked this mod. It was what it set out to be. I had fun for 15 minutes. That's pretty much it.
Jesus Christ, take Ritalin!
This is good stuff man. I mean, there's so many things in this picture that give insight into who this guy is and how he lives his life.
It looks Silent Hill-esque but still somewhat original. That's cool.
lol guess it's never coming out.
This actually looks pretty good.
There an update on the horizon perhaps?
Low poly? They seem pretty well detailed to me.
It's very well detailed.
Waiting is getting very hard. This is shaping up to be ferociously excellent.
I'm watching a lot of mods right now, but this is one of three mods that I get really happy after an update.
Are you guys still working on this? I hope so, because it showed a lot of promise.
I must say, of all the mods I'm tracking, getting an update from this one makes me the most happy.
The lighting is just perfect.
@ leilei What? It's just a model pose.
That Legion ad sure is annoying. I like the presence of the games.
It was still a cool trailer.
I mean, I guess I could see how you might see it as a zombie game given the trailer. It's a tad misleading but trust that it will be awesome.
What's up with all of these ridiculously stupid comments? Anyway, I absolutely cannot wait to play this.
Looks good, though in my opinion I don't think fighting hordes of zombies, as the trailer suggests, would be that fun for me. Though based on the first game, I'm betting this will not be the case anyway. Looking SO forward to this!
Awesome design, pretty imaginative.
It just HAD to be spiders...
Fantastic level design.
What is a "scren?" It looks cool whatever it is.
I do really like the textures. It seems a little empty in that large room, but obviously you're going to fill it with furniture and whatever items later.
Christ, good luck to you man. This looks pretty awesome.
I don't think that's true. If we are talking about retail games, then plenty of DLC content that requires a separate purchase is worth it. However, I'm curious to know which games you played that had free DLC that you think are greater than games that charge for them.
I think this looks pretty good, I love the idea of horror mods on half-life 1 now.
Really happy to see progress.
I like how the absence of light is used.
That sucks, didn't see you guys there.
I'm really excited to see this develop.
Yeah, it's breathtaking.
It's awesome how I get a severe sense of foreboding not just because of the content of the picture, which screams atmosphere, but because of who made the mod.
As long as it maintains the exponential growth in creativity seen in the first two episodes, take as long as you want.
Yeah, definitely agree with the dream comparison. It's true, I've had dreams of long hallways that looked only somewhat detailed like this. Excellent work, though I certainly hope that the lights at the end of the hall flicker or something.
Loving it. I like how the light reaches out just enough to present the ominous darkness further in the cave. As a side note, I hate using phrases like "ominous darkness."
Definitely showing signs of improvement. I'll be waiting to see your next mod too!
Oh okay, in that case it's awesome.
I love this shot. The barbed wire is a really nice effect, as well as the perspective from the POV. But that tree second from the right looks a little bit lop-sided doesn't it? Maybe it's supposed to be like that...
Loving the textures.
I like how it's specifically colorful in these pictures. It provides a nice contrast to what will come.
