Welcome to Proteus Pixel. We’re an indie game development team started in 2014, and we will be using this page to update dev status on our first title, Ted by Dawn. It’s an old school challenging platformer with a shotgun. The apocalypse is well underway, and our hero Ted is just trying to get by. He’ll be eaten alive, infected, pelted with rotting zombie ribs, caught on fire, impaled, and a host of other things, or he just might survive! We’ll be using 8-bit graphics and a custom soundtrack, and we’ll be posting dev updates, screenshots, trailers, and all other information about our first title right here.

We lovingly refer to our debut game, Ted by Dawn, as the red-headed step child of a Mario, MegaMan, and Army of Darkness love cocktail. It's a platformer at heart, and we do our best to make sure it's a fun, very fast paced experience.

There are countless ways to be killed in Ted By Dawn. You only get 1 hitpoint at the beginning of each stage, and if you die, you get to start at the beginning of the stage. No checkpoints in this bad boy. It'll quickly flash up the way in which you died and respawn you at the beginning of the stage. No menu prompts, no questions, no doddling, we just throw you back into the action as quickly as possible.

We constantly update our devblog at proteuspixel.tumblr.com, and we're just now beginning to push content here.

So, to any of you reading this, thanks for your time (and hopefully interest) in our tough as nails platformer that we'll be placing into the running on Steam Greenlight in the next few weeks.
