After studying scenic arts (theoretical and practical research in theatre, the new media and especially in between ;)) at the university of Hildesheim, Germany, I am now looking forward to become a writer and editor of texts for games and other media! :) My interest in modding is not only scientific (diploma thesis on the deve- lopment of computer game modifications) but also artistically minded, as in my first project, the Far Cry "SturmMOD", in which William Shakespeare's play "The Tem- pest" meets Far Cry... Although I`m currently busy writing for commercial adventure games, I try to help where I can, so if you got a problem or questions or simply want to chat, don`t hesitate to contact me! :)

Intriguing idea... maybe the killer could mark the person he wants to hit in a certain way before the kill, like by shooting a paintball-bullet which sprays invisible ink, unnoticed by the victim, but can be seen through special lenses by the killer or the ink is lowly radioactive and can thus be located through walls by using something like a Geiger counter... ;)

In this installation we used a Wacom pen tablet connected to a Max / MSP patch and a beamer in order to draw with light. In the picture the body of a performer is extended into the body of the creature Caliban by adding the light layer. In a later production Ro- bin and Sami even managed to animate the drawings during the performance by first saving each frame and than looping them... :)

I would suggest that what is considered a "game modification" has evolved over time, often changes its meaning and each definition is what modders and players of a certain time have agreed on.
Before there was a separation of "engine(s)" and "content" games were one piece of code and if you altered something the whole game was changed, maybe with the exception of savegame hacks in the time before Doom offered an own structure for Mods, the PWAD, and more importantly established that everyone who wanted to play a mod should buy the game not the shareware version.
The games thus became a platform for modifications which became downloadable entities, called "Mods" (Partial Conversion). Soon standalone mods were prohibited through the EULA and (most of the) mods didn`t change files of the main game but got loaded into the game. CS`s success led to the public definition of a mod as "changing the (whole) game" though it was a particular form of the "Mods" Doom had made popular, a Total Conversion.
To sum up: Whether you call it a model pack or a mod depends on your point of view... Models pack may have been called mods some years ago and today are considered only to be addons, because "mods" nowadays often are actually "new games", some people don`t call modifications to a game a mod if there is no new content though the gameplay is changed, others think only modifications which change the code should be called mods. Interestingly, a TC for Doom may not count for some people today for a TC because only the graphics were changed and not the code and there is little difference (maybe the commercial aspect) technically between a TC and a game company which licenses an engine and creates new assets for it (see Valve who modified the Quake2 Engine in order to produce Half Life!)...
Excuse my English, it`s hard to translate my thoughts exactly... >_<

So your zombies are fast ones? This really would be awesome, to have a fast zombie running in the direction of the players and maybe set some of them on fire, too, like in a Kamikaze mode! Will the zombies only burn when shot at with special weapons like a flame thrower or grenades or will the zombies occasionally decide to run into fires burning at some places on every map in order to turn themselves into an even deadlier weapon, a living torch? :)

Enjoyed listening to this track, it`s indeed uplifting, the only thing I`d recommend would be to diversify the hearing experience by adding more parts in between which evolve the theme in a different way, e.g. change the key, introduce a side theme which has a different mood (for example quieter) and than return to the main theme in its full glory... :)

Been involved myself both in developing a serious game and in a conference about this topic and both times most of the people thought about the games part in "serious games" as a trojan horse which smuggles "serious content and knowledge" into your brain though games like the "Shogun" - series already did that without the "I AM SERIOUS" - sticker attached >_<. My only concern is that the menu occupies a lot of space in the player`s view which could be fatal if enemies are close. But I assume that you will have shortcut keys anyway to trigger a command if a player wants to have an unblocked view?
