After studying scenic arts (theoretical and practical research in theatre, the new media and especially in between ;)) at the university of Hildesheim, Germany, I am now looking forward to become a writer and editor of texts for games and other media! :) My interest in modding is not only scientific (diploma thesis on the deve- lopment of computer game modifications) but also artistically minded, as in my first project, the Far Cry "SturmMOD", in which William Shakespeare's play "The Tem- pest" meets Far Cry... Although I`m currently busy writing for commercial adventure games, I try to help where I can, so if you got a problem or questions or simply want to chat, don`t hesitate to contact me! :)

Are you refering to this book Ssl.safaribooksonline.com which explains level design in the Far Cry sandbox editor by building a "Prospero`s Island"? In this case I should clarify that the idea for the SturmMOD did not come from this book, in fact I initially learnt about its existence after the release of our mod. While the basic idea may be similar, the level design book used the story of "The Tempest" only loosely as a reference for a FPS in which you killed Caliban zombies in order to get to a castle where Prospero awaits the player as a boss enemy. The SturmMOD on the other hand was built from scratch after the descriptions given in William Shakespeare`s play. Furthermore it aims to offer the opportunity to explore the scenery of the drama as well as to find and re-play traces of the events and characters from the play and of performances by "Projekt A.R.I.E.L.". ;)

Have to agree with RustySpannerz here, you should try to put it into a nutshell, like for example get rid of "Try to" in "Try to load / save new life" or omit "What the..." in "What the... Did you have friends!?" You wouldn`t lose anything of the meaning that way IMHO but the whole menu would become clearer... ;) Apart from that: great job, I`m a huge fan of custom menus that already convey what one can expect when playing the mod! :)

An immersive system indeed, great work! :) Will there be an indicator of the player`s position on the map as well? If not maybe, as the player presses a certain key, the player character could point to the current position with a finger while holding the map with the other hand?

Found a solution:

1. Make sure FarCry has a "Mods" folder.
Example C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ FarCry \ Mods
2. Extract the SturmMOD folder you find in the zip archive you downloaded into this "Mods" folder.
Example Result C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ FarCry \ Mods \ SturmModv1.1
3. Create a shortcut on your desktop or whereever you like pointing to the FarCry.exe.
Example "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ FarCry \ Bin32 \ Farcry.exe"
4. Right-click on the shortcut, choose "Properties", add -mod:SturmMod or -mod:SturmModv1.1 to the path displayed, depending on the version you downloaded.
Example "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ FarCry \ Bin32 \ Farcry.exe" -mod:SturmModv1.1
5. Use the shortcut to start FarCry with the SturmMOD and have fun playing! :)
