Triple A Studio Games and engines are there as a business its perfectly fair to charge for the game engines.
Take a render at a good camera angle this a really bad view to upload pics at.
Have you ever thought of taking this stand alone so far the content shown of crysis 2 do not really warrant the need to have crysis 2 installed i do not have crysis 2 and really want to play this.
Thats not really the engine thats physics settings and coding since Unity has a few options to change physics and mass of objects.

@Jokerme comparing this to old Source shots since i have followed Raindrops progress a while i disagree. I have looked into both engines myself and Unity is basically like a blank canvass imho you program in lighting features and graphical features as needed where as source to a degree is all provided for you. However both engines while Source i consider a little dated are good with pros and cons on each.
More Source fans. Perhaps they are planning to make the game like this in the first place plus the fact you cant tell what mood the game is portraying in this screenshot looks a damn sight better than anything I have seen done with source engine. Why is it mods or games get so much crap when they make a decision to move off source engine there are other good engines out there and if all good developers used source engine it would be severely limiting what they can achieve. Karma me down if you want but i feel we should be more accompanying to developers choice of engine that's all.

@Mrksmt9 Looks like a gym so i see nothing wrong with the placement of the equipment and such theres generally not much in Gyms from what i have seen.

Looks to be some nice progress however im concerned that the pistol looks to be a far better quality model to every other gun i hope you will be remaking some models or atleast go over the textures again.

hmm i think the best way would either a low-ish poly sphere halved and welded to the mesh or planar modeling the eye shape out and welding to the mesh.

I really like the lighting but not the textures. On the closest building just look really fake. Also idk if its because this isnt done but the missing bits near the van are also a bit dodgy. Also i like the lamppost model but its texture is again very plain and the model itself appears to be hovering

Halo dropship style has been around since 90's sci movies and games. I have to say looks really good not sure what the front clyinders are looks like missile launchers if so theres a bit too overkill on how many there are.

Just one thing if your gonna use the gasmask for a bad guy could you alter the eye holes design a bit atm it looks a bit unnatural possibly even comical.
A very nice piece of concept art i agree with WNxKraid change the gasmask too as it is making the character look a bit evil. I think a half gasmask or no gas mask or one showing someway of seing the face behind it clearly would go along way to making sure the player knows friend or foe.

if they didnt how easy do u think it is to tell a fake from a real at a distance. Anyway i like the detail on the flash hider also the the handguard looks like it could be a bit smoother. If you want to use this as a portfolio piece i would work on making the model smoother highpoly and really add as much detail as you feel it needs. Then it needs texturing and rendering.
i havent forgot and oh i thought it was just release my bad $15 is good value and i love to see the dev process well then if you try on kickstarter im sure ill find money to donate and i do appreciate you bascially have coded your own engine is indeed very impressive (i cant comprehend how hard that is im an artist) i hope you get the funding you need and release. id love to make maps for this which is one thing this has above ravaged atm. also if you released the engine to let others make indies id love to use this engine for my game project it looks like it could be better than udk one of the best indie made engines i have ever seen.
on kickstarter this would be competing against ravaged both this and ravaged are looking very awesome but the main reason i donnated to ravaged was to do with the fact for $25 i get alot of content (game copy and beta/alpha) making it seem like a worth while purchase but unfortunatley i dont have enough money to spare for this one which seems equally awesome but doesnt look near enough finished. Still anxiously await this game and if you launch i kickstarter later i may donate.

With a big city there is several locations that would be less generic with horrors its now difficult to scare anyone in the typical locations as its been done so many times they know what to expect.

The subject matter is good but the modeling is letting this down. I also love the lighting.
Generally u are allowed some artistic license with that to make the blade just curve in so you cant see the progression from flat of the blade to the point but i will look at the pic as i do not know the actual model. I also like how you have payed attention to details like screws and bolts on the handle :)

Thats not just a good model imo that would be selling it short thats a very good well detailed correctly proportioned model with no real errors i can see at all very well done duke. Other than a grey on grey render i see nothing really at fault. AO render would be nice to properly show the details in the model but congrats on a fine model.

Face texture is a bit odd but everything else is good
I don't think the floor texture looks right it seems stretch fitted not scaled properly from this shot. But i generally think that the floor texture doesn't suit the environment. Also the arc as Cybertrance mentioned too doesn't fit Black Mesa style. However i like most of the map otherwise
Dam makes my zombie look crap it really looks like a quite classic style which is nice change great detailing of the face looks anotomicaly correct. The hair for me at the moment looks too out of place not realistic like the rest of the face. All in all very good work

I love the model but i agree with DeviantGerman about the scratch effects and i also feel the texture could do with a shinier specular atm it feels to me like the texture is too matte

I understand it not a lot into modern art thought the talent doesn't seems to be there so much as other art styles however i do know Picasso is widely regarded as a top artist and definitely forefront figure of modern art :D i just think its not that great xD.(Thus proves i know a bit about art)
its quite good id like to see a non textured version so i can see the details on the helicopter as id really love to see all the metal plate joinings and other small details which would make this model amazing :)

if thats the case then lower the polygon detail around the trigger and ring making it a simple flat shape and smoothing on 3ds max doesn't up the polygon.
no... l4d is an arcade run and gun with zombies we are attempting something like the realism in mods like insurgency but with a zombie enemy and other unique features. I hope that this will be nothing like l4d accept they both have zombies and guns.
we never really left its just progress has slowed a bit all mods and indies go through bad timing :)

the texture is nice but presumably if a rowing boat has sunk it would take some damage like broken wood in the hull and damaged oars for me the model needs that bit of work

well its not how i would model a gun using planes can be a bit awkward i prefer to start it with a box and just add polygons using a symmetry modifier on the other side
Good work for me the model is great but the gun metal texture could do with being a bit brighter on specular and i dont remember seeing a tokarev in a dark grey colour i always thought they were light grey.Also some scratches as from looking at the texture it looks like your going for a well used style i love the red star texture in the handle though. All in all i like it nice work Wird :)

Looks okay although you should of used a tube for the barrel that bit doesn't look right also doesn't look very low poly. I also find it horrible to stick the photo as a texture and i would of just left it one material until i had a texture ready

Its quite a nice model accept there seems to be quite a few polygon errors and no smoothing groups which deffinatley need working on if your going to use this for a game or mod. However coloured backround renders look terrible with a non textured model imo.

You need to look into getting a more curved shape at the moment it looks like a 2d shape extruded

metal looks a bit too rusty but i like the scratches. Plus the metal rust is spotty which is a bit off. Model seems fine tho and i like your attention to details with the label.

I think for a render like this you really need a texture for the floor and walls if you are going to do a leaning against the wall shot texture and mode look decent tho good work.

i think that you should consider making the headshot gib happen only with a large caliber weapon imo it would just look weird if you shot a headshot with pistol and the head exploded

I got a couple of old models on my profile but i have gotten alot better since then also unfortunatley i cant do you hand models im more a environment and weapon artist. I can make models and texture them to a decent standard if you pm a weapon you want ill model it show you.
Will you be keeping hl2 weapons i feel this mod could do with custom weapons especially considering the reskinned usp imo just looks out of place. If you need a weapon modeler i could do you some. Big fan of this mod so far keep it up.

Was having huge issue defining the lips (more practice required) fortunately the top lip is mostly hidden by facial hair on my concept which is the main issue not sure on the jaw i have thinned it out a little bit since posting this but the reference photo i'm using the guy has quite a pronounced jaw line. On the subject of the eyes though i couldn't agree more still trying to detail the eye lids. Thanks for the feedback most of this will be taken into consideration on my next character model rather than too much changes to this one as unfortunately i have a deadline coming up :/.

Seems like a good base for the recreation but i feel you have missed important details such as there's a metal plate along the venting as the wall is a bit dirtier in the hl 1 one its little details that help make good textures.
Well i feel this needs at least a 2d space picture background Also im unsure from this angle whether or not it has been textured due to the intense lighting from the guns. However i like the ship designs.

You might of waited a while before posting this atm all there is to see is a badly rendered grey blocky layout.
No it is a fail it doesn't matter than mac's can run windows it makes no sense that Microsoft wouldn't have a windows based laptop for its presentation.
It could be that the mutants or whatever hang up the skeletons of their enemies for a number reasons mainly to scare but its not like it hasn't happened throughout history. Where often enemies, criminals etc were mostly hung up as a warning or to set an example.
Looks fine to me wish i could texture that well and maybe character model at all xD

Also less is more when it comes to horror the less you see of the thing scaring you the more your brain tries to imagine what it is but if you can clearly see it coming in detail it wont have anything more than shock when it happens.
Its most likely done using two photos in the same position split in Photoshop looks pretty good for hammer brushwork.

The closest answer i can give to whats wrong with it is its not in correct proportion the eyes are way too far apart from the nose and the giant eyebrows i feel it has little to do with the texture or any shader or specular you may or may not have applied and that it is purely anatomical error this gives the whole uncanny valey effect of attempting to look human but not quite looking like an actual person.
The skeleton animation really reminds me of the stop motion animation skeletons of Jason and the Argonaughts film Youtube.com

Edit just saw your wire frame on your profile you need to also make sure you use as little triangular geometry as possible as it will produce bugs in the lighting and make correct uv mapping a lot more difficult.
Atm there are way too many hard edges for my liking it seems like you have a grasp of the basic shape but you need to work on making the geometrey clean and cut some more polygons in the corner to give the effect of a smooth curve. Keep at it though its looking good.

I would think about putting some fortification walls around the castle or add a similar amount of detail as the terrain is atm the tower looks far too clean. With it being in such a hostile environment as fire and brimstone look it might be worth making the stone work look weathered cracked and some visible damage in places maybe chunks missing from the stone work that is obvious from a distance. Other than that its a really awesome looking environment, interesting to look at good modeling and texture work and well planned out. Looking forward to getting this.

ye i would agree with Sniper there is mismatched texture resolutions going on other than that the layout is really nice.

For something like this id say to get it right you would have to make the material yourself in photoshop or something similar anyway if u did that you would have a really nice 3d model.
This is seriously becoming the best zombie survival game i have ever played it really gets the adrenaline going when an alarm goes off nearby and the sheer amount of zombies that follow.
Looks good i would say the model looks fine i presume its a highpoly model other than that id say the textures could use some work the foam pads look like sand paper material to me and the plastic could some reflection but other than that good work all round mate.
The map looks good but the zombies sorta look like they are dancing :)

I reackon the actual hand is disproportionate scale wise to the arms but the hand texture is ok but why is the sleeves yellow?

Indeed there is a nice amount of detail on the model and shape looks smooth no errors would be nice to see a texture.
In that shot the are plenty examples of the Zone looking as good
One thing ill point out is the wood texture looks very rough with the sharp specular while i believe wooden rifle bodies are varnished so i would increase the spread on the specular a little bit or maybe try fading out the wood a bit more other wise as i have said before its a good model the metal bits look great.

As much as this is really nice you cant honnestly think that there isnt 3d models as nice as this and renders in a game thats a bit narrow minded but this is an amazing 3d render non the less not sure on the blue hints.
Looks like he painted all of it to me and used a few layers or so of shading on top. It does look preety good nicely shaded on the body of the pepper it almost looks like a photo nice work.

Really love the lighting in this scene and the prop placement however the buildings look really blocky and uniformal i would suggest varrying the shape and window placement on the buildings and added some details close to where the player can see.

If its anything like these binocs there should be some sort of leather grip or the whole case should have that coating plus the cylinders that join the two scopes togther also might look better with the screw heads placed on the texture
also the zoom clyinder tends to have grooves on. Just little bits of detail that could be added to the texture.

depends on what sort of zombie your going for. Mutatated ala L4d Virus Ala 28 days later or zombies similar to that of the night of the living dead or even ones like the walking dead which hagamablabla point would be valid in acording to the tv series :)

try learning something new then if you use photoshop to make the backgrounds learn to do digital art in photoshop or something. i love to draw concept art and make textures in photoshop and posters and allsorts :)

in UK from where i have found art shops acrylics are bit more plus other art expenses such as canvas or good paper and brushes traditional is good yes but i dont think that traditional is neccesarily better than digital which seems to be a opinion held by alot of people. I mostly combine pencil and colour in digital.
Preety good stuff acrylic paint is expensive though thats why i tend to use digital.

polycounts have to hit the 500,000 to make an impact on pc in editor.

Looks somewhat better than crysis 2 from a game design perspective and its good to hear that you have got some great voice acting talent on your team. I remember playing Trapped and always thought that the voice acting of that guy Edwyn played was awesomely creepy and also any of the voice acting from the worry of newport is really good.
make the wooden texture yourself also vary the box with marks and scratches bits of detail
I like it alot too a different style concept i would like to see the foreground wall and window more defined then the outside background to show depth of field :)

well when texturing try to go use a reference pic the texturing is actually not bad cept the hair seems to look stitched on
wouldnt be too difficult you would use this as the highpoly base mesh and then start to cut out polys or remake the blade lowerpoly then use a normal map bake to project high poly onto low if you want it to still look awesome
Its a very good model and now that u have fixed the blade issue i have no real issues with it congratulations on a fine model
I agree nice model one minor point is the flat of the blade doesnt curve to a point without an obvious triangle shape try to avoid this by adding more verts on curving overwise nice model like the style good details

Yep that would work also $H@D()W no matter how well u texture that it will always look too smooth its a fault in the model and textures cannot fix that

Hmm i always hated for the screen to be cut to letterbox outside of cutscenes as it doesnt show off the skill of the levels and disrupts visibility. I like the style of the hud the lines on the numbers could be a bit bolder

Since this is mainly placeholding models there isnt that much point in adding blood decals around corpse models that we are hopefully going to replace sometime. Plus the blood got removed while trying a reflective floor test.

its a very nice model but it would look amazing if you rendered it with scene lights and possible a simple ambient occlusion setting as it enhances the view of detailed parts shading them making the really fine detail easy to see even if its very small perfect for high detailed hard surface no texture models such as this.

Its a preety cool design but for some reason that helmet reminds me of zerg off toy story on another not i cant see anything wrong its well modeled, good design and detail well done
As a model i cant really judge but as art it looks really nice the bit at the end of the tunnel could use some work maybe blur it as it has intense heat.

i would say for one smooth it and work on your geometry their seems to be quite a few errors on the model due to unclean geometry for such a simple model also i feel that the handle needs a lot of work in shaping it to fit reference. Having said all that its not bad and it will look quite good if u fix it up

The pipe attach to the grip looks great to me dont get rid of it however smoothing and a trigger is needed other than that clean geometry nice detail perhaps a better render its very nice

yes always the best approach with detailed parts
then placing them on the model and again with animatable parts like the cocking mechanism atm though im not modeling the sight until i can find suitable reference also when modeling guns always use a symertry modifier so the gun parts are equal size on the otherside then take it off if you dont want it mirrored
sure thing the wood is a bit too undamaged on an old gun it looks like it should have some nicks out of the wood some fade and and maybe a few scratches for me just a cloud render in photoshop over the top would make the wood more varied and natural.
For me what i notice is wrong is the face which lacks human features and the arms which are too thin in proportion to the body however its a really nice model and an interesting armor design
the texture isnt great for me the wood doesn't look real the metal is okay could possibly use either some scratches or higher resolution metal to sharpen it a bit as the metal looks a bit blurry overall though its a nice piece well done
its UDK for the game and thanks i wasnt sure how to hide the seams the model isnt very high poly and i have heard of normals but i didnt have a high poly version of this model and didnt think it needed it. 1024 is just what i made it at for ingame depending on how many of these there are i will make 512. thanks m8 for the in detailed critism ill upload my next version of this soon taking onboard your advice.

exceptional work there Shallows :) i love the attention to detail and really have no crit to the model what so ever. I got to do a Dragunov SVD soon it will be interesting to see how mine will compare :D. However you could put a bit more effort into the render :D
as stocko said handle is nice however it looks like the wrong type of wood everthing else needs work however model itself is nice
Individual pannels gives you real problems later if i want to put it ingame and it can screw up the model when i attatch the pannels. Your model is okay but a little different to mine as this is a more complex curve shape thats why individual pannels do not work so well
you do like your bionicle dont you :) i cant really crit the model to well as i cant see it clearly but it looks nice
