0 comments by PlanMan on May 1st, 2015

Today, I'm going to talk some about the weapon system in Defense in Depth. Now, in most cases weapons back then were very heavy. Which is true, especially for the BAR which was very heavy (still probably my favorite though.) Therefore, most weapons will have significant sway which will make it difficult to keep a weapon sighted on a target, to counter this however I plan on implementing weapon resting. I will also likely implement means by which to improve one's steadiness by changing posturing.

Speaking of weapon resting, machine guns will essentially function the same with deployment; the thing is, I feel if I don't it won't be consistent. Also, have you played Verdun and tried setting up a machine gun? It can be rather clunky. Rather with my system, it'll be more like a direct thing above whatever you're trying to put said gun on. I really want a system where the main challenge is getting a good position, otherwise a reasonable range shot is going to be very hard. I still think that most accurate shots are in a rested position.

I use a program called Wings3D, it's not the best mind you, but it's free, and far simpler then Blender.
