I absolutely love seeing projects develop from the ground, thanks for constantly updating your development posts, the game is really looking nice!
Very cool! You don't see many people writing their own engines anymore, let alone their own physics library :)
Awesome update guys! Extremely glad I bought this it's a blast, out of curiosity, what physics library do you guys use? If you don't mind me asking.
Looks cool, really enjoyed the HL2 mod. I hope the same elements are present, the mace combat was really fun. Best of luck.
This looks very cool guys, best of luck!
Man you guys are pumping out updates! Sounds and looks really great, I would LOVE for situations where you are running low on ammo and need to forage for weapons/supplies off of enemies or teammates. I don't know if it's what you guys have planned but keeping frontlines supplied and not just blowing clips of ammo on bushes or holding fire until you get better shots would be a big refresher than the constant pray and spray of most modern shooters.
I think it's really great of you guys to have jumped into full on community news after your public annoucement and especially because I know in the other posts, you were kind enough to read/respond to comments. For being such a veteraned dev team it's really nice. Games looking great, can't wait to try it out!
I read an interesting article called "Write Games, Not Engines" and it was really great read. I play around with development and this really rings true. It is much easier to write specific custom elements than to try and make a system accessible so that in the future you can add those elements. I love modders don't get me wrong!, but I tend to find it much easier to develop with specific features in mind because you have the ability to manipulate the source code with ease.
Interesting, I am loving that rendering library (started working with it a little while ago). I really liked Iron Grip: Warlords so I will definitely have to check this out :)
Hey! This is made with Ogre3D right? I remember looking through a list of games and seeing a game quite similar (or I think the same) on youtube? Maybe I'm mistaken and I just saw gameplay of this somewhere else :) Either way looks great guys.
Looks fantastic, does it by any chance have seamless space to world loading like Spore (where theres no loading screen)? I've never really been into games like these but if so I would definitely get it just for the exploration looks great!
Reminds of Fury3 for some reason, that was like the first PC game I really ever played :)
It is always extremely interesting to see how other people work. I've done some 3d modelling and texturing in XSI self taught after some basic tutorials. I love seeing how other people model/map because there are always some techniques that you can improve on or that you never tried. Thanks for the post!
Man this thing is looking great, awesome job Vino!
First off, it's a model not just a black skin... Secondly you can download it... but that won't make people see you with it... Third, your not PAYING for a 'skin' I'm sure over 90% of the Special Edition preorders paid for the support of the team.
Awesome guys can't wait! I just noticed same release date as NS2 alpha, it's gunna be an exciting day!
Very nice, can't wait to get into this again. Was always a great mod and the updates kept me coming back :)
Very cool! Was really looking forward to the beta release, but I'm sure it will be worth the few weeks wait :)
Very cool, everything looks great.
Very cool looking, great looking atmosphere, can't wait :)
Very cool, looking forward to this mod :)
2000+ seems a little like overkill, unless it's a gaming laptop or something. 1200 bucks can get you a pretty nice rig that should be able to play anything, unless you buy it from Alienware or something :) Building your own FTW!
Keep up the great work!
It's been out for a very long time... One of the first full conversion medieval mods I played at least, not counting PVK since it's not really a strictly medieval mod (Although I love it).
Wow that really looks great :)
Wow that looks fantastic, I remember seeing all the call of juarez vids and was impressed by their graphics, thought it looked a bit like unreal 3 engine but this looks way better.
Looks great, played the first one a bit and enjoyed it.
I think they look awesome, keep it as is. This games going to rock.
Wow that does sound very interesting and fun, I'll be looking forward to this
Looks interesting :)
Some sounds and video was from the movie but it was meshed VERY WELL together with footage of the mall which looked amazing might I add. It was well done, looked good, and looks fun. The second video showed how it follows the movie... So to say he's done NOTHING is ignorant and you, in fact, are retarded!
You... are... amazing... Nice work on The Haunted! XD
psh could just pretend it looks fine to me :P I don't think people are going to stop mid firefight and complain.
Reminds me of AVP2 Multi player a little minus the wallwalking =D definitely looks like its going to be sweet :)
Looks very fun, models are outstanding I think and the movement of the models look fluid and realistic. The only thing is the Gears of War game has an amazing cover system which is the key to it's success among other things. I think if this first person concept was incorporated with the cover system it would be nothing short of amazing. Keep up the good work!
Wow that looks nice
Does look very good, I didn't even notice the trees until I saw the comment :P but they do look a little generic.
sorry, I find you really gay, make something better than
Everything looks great, The Imperial Guardsman seem a little down to earth though without their helmets and such. But I can't wait for this mod!
I've been following the Overgrowth news segments and such since the blood effects and I think it's going to be amazing. The updates are great and provide an extremely interesting view on how you go about developing your game and its greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work! I was wondering where one would go if they wanted to look more into the programming aspect and such of developing your own game/engine. Thanks :)
Looking forward to this mod XD
This engine looks incredible, I cannot wait for this game to be released. Great work guys!
I bought the full retail of this Mod and have to say its absolutely amazing, but I like the AUG in the mod more than the retail idk y XD
3 Days after its "Release Date" and no mod, or explanation... I think people would be much less condemning if some news was released or an explanation on whats going on and why it's still not out 3 days after the release. I don't think you need someone to promote your mod as much as the need for a PR Advisor at this point...
Wow, the rating is taking a beating lol. This morning it was 9.2 now its to 6.4. I gave up waiting for this and just bought Killing Floor and have been playing that XD
I'm going to keep it at a one until its released and if its a 10 quality the max ill actually give it is an 8. XD
Yes I noticed that earlier I changed my rating when I changed mine it was at 9.2 now look where it is lol
"And again, about the release: Curse episodes will not be available on May 18th here, watch FilePlanet for an announcement." Note the "HERE" meaning that it will be released on the 18th... but not here... so they did lie... lol
I agree when mods get delayed it can be frustrating but understandable, however, saying it will certainly be released on a date and forcing people to constantly refresh Fileplanet and it not coming out shows lack of awareness and support of the community. I'm still looking forward to it because it does look insane but now just slightly more disappointed, just try and keep in mind it was a one man (for the most part) show so it's mostly understandable.
I don't think that is is delayed but I agree, FilePlanet... not cool lol :)
I thought the combat system was like fluid and follows the motions of the mouse, I didn't know it was just directional attacks like Dark Messiah M&M (Not that thats bad since I loved M&M) Really looking forward to it XD
keep up the great work!
Looks high scale and pretty epic :)
ahhh! all I did was go downloads and get the alpha >.< lol
Whenever I try and play online it just throws me into a Unreal 3 game... not the mods anyone else notice this?
Looks great keep it up XD
Finally got it to work and have to say that this mod is absolutely amazing, the changes between the two updates are great looks astonishing with the new visuals keep up the great work guys!
Bummer cannot find any games online, been playing the mod since last release and its really fun XD hope you guys can get some basic bot support in that would be awesome :)
edit: Scratch that I think there are several internet games but something wrong with mine :P When im creating a character theres nothing there and when I join online games I get errors about missing things >.<
3 MOAR DAYS!!!!
This keeps looking better and better, it must be fun developing this engine and showing it off :)
Looks neat, i'll have to reinstall and check it out :)
Looks good, I think it looks well done could use some polishing but I think some people don't understand the difficulty of developing a mod. I think it looks good, keep up the work.
They do mostly chronological to who signed up first, but they also throw in a few random and they've started asking for clan signups for alpha keys.
Been waiting since Oct 12th and I haven't seen a key yet, which is depressing because on the forums you see people who signed up much later with keys playing :(
Fantastic! I've been into this mod since it was fairly young and always liked the idea, can't wait!
Yeah, I mean it is still in pre alpha stages. I am surprised to see that footage first only here, considering the hunger for footage on the UW forums :) That and I'm sure they haven't put in all the optimization codes for like rendering objects that are no where near in sight or stuff like that.
Nice, yeah that Overgrowth & NS2 pack was awesome. I love the in game footage for NS2! (Although the fps in the video looks a little low :P)
Looks amazing, the pistol seems a little overpowered and the animation of the fire looks a little odd, but great music, awesome explosion effects :) Can't wait.
hahah ya, Never underestimate the power of the people, user content available when valve software is purchased is both exceptional in quality and price (price being free). If they for whatever reason charge for the DLC I will disappointed and shocked. <3 Valve
That looked great, the commentary put it over the top amazing :P I like how at the end you said if I can make it to the Mall you can see it and after a while of zombie screaming it just ended so I'm assuming that you didn't quite make it. Really wanted to see the mall from the screenshots it looks crazy. Keep up the great work I'm sure everyone is looking foward to this campaign.
