Very cool guys! I remember playing one of the more recent releases, very solid engine. Good luck with continuing development :)
Wow, very nicely done.
Must be exciting and a little daunting at the same time :) Best of luck with it!
Very impressive guys! I always thought that the game was more of a series of interesting tech-demos but it really does seem to be shaping up.
The feel of it is absolutely astounding with all of the systems in play. Once a little more game play comes out I think I'll finally have to get a copy :)
Great news! Been waiting since Oct 12th, and I think you guys are getting close so here's to hoping I snag a key!
Interesting read guys! I've been working with Ogre3D for quite a while now and recently implemented a Bullet Physics wrapper, I've kept it as a point to separate the graphics and physics code so that when I do start multithreading it will be a bit easier. Thanks for putting time into a technical post, I find they are just as awesome as media updates which always seem to dominate peoples interest :)
Hopefully get my game/engine looking decent enough to finally start some dev posting :)
Very awesome looking, can't wait to play the single player, it looks incredibly atmospheric. Hope we won't have to wait too long for the multiplayer after :)
I rather like the smaller gun models, games these days seem to be really magnifying how they look, like you would run around with the gun right up to your face or when you use the iron-sights you use them as a scope putting them an inch from your eye, at least with pistols.
Anyway, it looks great, can't wait to see more!
Great work guys, will this story telling be included in the game itself? If so I might have to avoid reading these! :)
Interesting stuff, I always liked the idea of caching time based deltas of the database image, then, when people connect you only have to check their 'sequence number' and apply the deltas since then (kind of like patching). Not sure how well it would work but indexing based on sequence values would make it fast, and it would not have to send updates on every entity.
Keep up the great work guys! Can't wait for an alpha key :)
Great update, love the music! The atmosphere surrounding this game is great. Can't wait to see the demo.
Very interesting, I really like the games direction. I really liked the trailer released last year, especially the music. Can't wait for the demo!
Although I've been playing around with developing my own, I think that engine licenses now are very reasonable being a lot are royalty free to an extent making them very accessible to low budget titles.
I just like the freedom of having access to all of the source code to tailor your own engine exactly how you want it :)
Looks great, I definitely think that the problem of vegetation disappearing in the distance is extremely annoying. I remember this being a big problem with BF2. Keep up the awesome work guys!
Looks great guys! I was playing the beta and at wave 19 I kill everything but it says theres still one guy left, I restarted the wave and the same thing happened. Still was a blast though, can't wait for new content :)
Thats great! I can't wait till the end of this semester, I bought the game and haven't had time to play it much.
This looks fantastic keep up the great work!
Waited too long to pick this up. Great job, certainly worth the price :)
Congrats Vino! I will have to coerce my friends into getting this with me :)
This is really cool great work guys! The ropes look fantastic.
Wish I could help, I thought that the game was fantastic last time I played it. Really fun game play with the spray painting for score, the music was also fantastic. Best of luck in finding people!
Looking forward to the client files :) Can't wait.
Oh wow, I didn't realize it was free either. I did love the FPS part about it too but this looks great!
Wow very awesome guys! I'll have to keep an eye on this. Never played Oblivion that much, this is a good reason to reinstall :)
Looks very nice guys.
I think he just said above that they do get the other game (in total own 2 copies of both) or can work out to receive a refund on one of them.
Wow looks really nice, love the poster :)
looks great, keep up the good work.
Nice! Looking better and better. Loving the weekly updates, can't wait for release.
Great update, can't wait for this to come out :)
Nice! been looking forward to this :)
Sounds pretty neat, I'll have to reinstall and check it out. I like the full caps description :)
As usual everything looks professionally done, great work guys. Really looking forward to next release :)
Wow looks great, keep up the awesome work!
lol looks great :)
The same John G from Momento? :O
No I'm not French, I was clueless on a SN so I figured eh, I took 3 years of French and developed the name "PierreWillRockYou" but when I start playing new games I use "PierreOfTheFrench" just in case I don't rock you :) Je connais un petite francais mais je habite USA dans NY (Yes I'm sure its flawed)
Looks good, for some reason it doesn't look completely real to me. But maybe its because of the rendering background setting or the rotation its at in the rendering. Maybe its the legs looking a bit thin to me. Anyway, don't mean to be too critical, looks great really looking forward to the mod :)
Very cool :)
Looks great! looking forward to this mod.
Damn, thats over the top intense, looks sick XD
Complain about the stupid stuff like when a mini-mod (skins or models) are posted like 7 times in a row on the main page... not for things as epic as this. :)
Looks interesting :)
Looks high scale and pretty epic :)
Looks neat, i'll have to reinstall and check it out :)
I didn't notice any lag before and I'm on University internet, which sucks lol
I had no idea there was a mapping contest!! nooooooooo lol. Looks good though :)
Downloaded the first one but didn't see many players on, I guess i'll try again, looked fun :)
Yes, it's very good looking but not quite CryEngine2... lol
That looks amazing nice work.
This game looked very interesting, I might have to purchase it.
If I knew where my CDs were id reinstall, this was my favorite game way back when lol =D
Wow looks really fun, this for PC also? I didn't see it mentioned.
EDIT: Noticed that it is being ported :P
Looks well done, does look a little small but other than that looks like it was well thought out and developed.
Thats awesome! One (of many) things I loved about the DoW series now in Lotro, going to have to reinstall it. thanks
Out of curiosity why is the barrel of the gun so narrow? I thought this was a grenade launcher. Either way, its a very nice update from the last model, keep up the good work.
Everyone starts somewhere Dredile :P, it could use a little spicing up like some props just so it doesn't look as barren maybe some lights to go with the the env_lights you have with some glow effects around it. Still looks alright, with the dim creepy look and the blood decals are a nice effect. Other than those things keep up the good work
I installed it and everything but it crashes every time it loads. Mod looks insane wish it would work :(
Wow that was nice, the first time I saw news about this mod was like 2 days ago and now there is a public release! Looking forward to playing it :)
It's been out for a very long time... One of the first full conversion medieval mods I played at least, not counting PVK since it's not really a strictly medieval mod (Although I love it).
Looks amazing as usual :) Can't wait.
I think basically anything you guys do just exceeds expectations over and over. Keep the news coming, it's always a treat to see how you guys think and work. Great job with the translucency, I can't wait for release :)
2.5 is released!!! Why it's not on here makes me sad :( I found it on fileplanet.
Wow that really looks great :)
Wow for hl1, these graphics and effects look outstanding. Great work :)
Call of Juarez BiB uses a fantastic cover system also I've seen from playing the demo.
Wow, great deal on steam for the hl games! I was waiting for a deal like this so I could play NS :)
Wow that really does look great :)
I'm thinking it may be for the PSP? The banner makes me think that and the models look low poly count so it would make sense if it was going for the portability :)
Looks fantastic can't wait for it :)
If your planning on getting it in the future you might as well get it now since you get in the super secret alpha forums :) and access to all the alphas. Plus you can provide the financial support now :P
The rabbit in the first one looks cool as hell. If the game models looks as badass as that rabbit I will cry with joy.
Wow, everything looks downright amazing! great work guys.
Never mind, I just preordered it :)
They said probably 2.0 if anyone is wondering, and yes you do get access to weekly updated alphas
Wait, I just read that if you preorder you get the game as is right now with it constantly being updated and released until the full game is out. Does that mean we gain access to the sunlight editor and things like this??? If so, I'm getting it now XD
Also, I see there are no system requirements available now but I was wondering if it requires pixel shader 3.0 or not? I have two computers ones really nice but I don't always have access to it. Just curious
Looks great really looking forward to this mod :) On a side note, I was just reading about Sonata Arctica's former lead guitarist Jani, and he got imprisoned for not fulfilling his mandatory service of the same thing I think, strange coincidence.
You guys are amazing, at life, I can't wait to see this game. At this point I'm going to buy because of the scenery. I've been following all your updates and the whole engine looks fantastic, I'm not even worried about game play at this point :)
I think it was supposed to be. I don't see why Valve wouldn't let them or why they wouldn't. When age of chivalry and all those mods got released on steam there was a huge spike in players. Personally, I think PVK2 is the best and most well done HL2 total conversion out there and can't wait to see it on steam.
Oh okay cool. After playing it I'm not surprised why everyone likes it so much! :) Well worth it, best of luck with continued development.
I love seeing a well built interesting game, and then seeing it's made with Ogre, been using it for 2 and a half years and absolutely love it. Definitely picking this up for the weekend :)
Out of curiosity what do you guys use for UI? CEGUI?
This is looking really nice guys! I remember using Game Maker forever ago when it was relatively new and it looks like it's come a long way. The game looks fantastic and the material idea sounds awesome. Best of luck on development.
I think the ammo system is fantastic, you wouldn't want it to drop the type you have selected because what if an ally needs some different type of ammo you have? I think from looking at it for the first time it might seem a bit complicated but in time it will probably just become second nature to drop certain ammo. I think it adds a lot more depth to the game great job guys!
Ah okay, that clarifies things. I think that is great, this way it feels like it compliments Steam much more, can't wait to see how it goes in the future :)
This is fantastic! I really like how it's like a moddb/indiedb condensed with downloading available which makes it much easier to download and maintain games. Looks really slick too guys great job. So this will not be a replacement/competition for steam? From the vibe I get and what is mentioned games like CoD will not be sold through Desura?
Really great guys, nice atmosphere, music was nice, looks like it will be really good. I was going to mention some little things but you said they were placeholders :)
Looks nice, you don't need to have a poly count range to be a good model, it's about the details you can get on the model without drastically increasing poly count. Especially since you guys plan on doing large scenes you may want a lot of low detail models. You should encourage anyone to try modelling you might find someone learning and getting better who really has potential.
I've only pirated a game when I already have owned it but have lost the cds or cd keys.
Check out the wiki it has all the info about the game.
Wow, looks fantastic! Faces/Men of war is such a great game with more people played it.
I've used SDL_Net which is really nice. I don't know if that would even be useful though. I coded up some Huffman Coding trees and just sent packed memory buffers using it for a 2d tanks game that was kind of lame but an exciting project it's always fun to figure stuff out :P
I think it's a good start. I would suggest making a few subtle instances similar to this, where you are not necessarily looking straight at the entities. This would give you that sensation of "What was that? Did I just imagine that?" Anyway, good luck :)
Played quite a bit of Age of Chivalry, really enjoyed it. I will definitely keep an eye on this. Looks very nice. I hope the fluid movement system is truly fluid. There are very few games that capture realistic movement and combat. Assassins Creed is a good example, having a non-button combo fighting system (Like Mount&Blade) but still that fluid feel like Creed did would probably make me cry with epic. All the best of luck :)
They said "proud to announce that the alpha is coming soon to preorders" however that was Jan 5th and I think someone said something about they said weeks away but it is still in the air as far as I know. I can't wait for it xD
If you look at the forum post there are several other pictures, many of them showing off really cool lighting techniques like those in the engine walk through video including a few with light shining through several fan blades, and vents if I remember correctly, looks really great.
Their treatment of players and modders? Valve is always very attentive to their players, constantly patching, releasing content, and functioning around what players want the most not what they think will sell the most. Also, how the hell do they treat their modders poorly? How many other games do you know of (or engines rather) that you can create a full conversion mod for with fair ease with all of the tutorials and sdk tools... You have not played L4D2 yet have you? I personally probably will not be buying it until the price goes down but you don't need to be a ****. One thing you think is a poor choice and all of the developers are ****?
I think that releasing a L4D2 at full price may be a little inappropriate, if it were released for 30 dollars I would be glad to get it since from screens it basically very similar in terms of graphics and mechanics an such. 30 dollars would give them good revenue and still be affordable (similar to Crysis: Warhead)
Beautiful landscape, great work.
Looks great, keep up the awesome work!
This engine looks incredible, I cannot wait for this game to be released. Great work guys!
keep up the great work!
This keeps looking better and better, it must be fun developing this engine and showing it off :)
looks great guys :)
Looking forward to this mods release =D
This is so awesome. Best UT3 Mod i've ever seen EXCELLENT work guys :)
Can't wait till open beta.
This would be crazy cool, but it does seem like a little stretch and it's April fools so...
Thanks a lot, dabbling around aimlessly was fun but this looks like it could go in a direction =D
