Very cool guys! I remember playing one of the more recent releases, very solid engine. Good luck with continuing development :)
Wow, very nicely done.
Must be exciting and a little daunting at the same time :) Best of luck with it!
Very impressive guys! I always thought that the game was more of a series of interesting tech-demos but it really does seem to be shaping up.
The feel of it is absolutely astounding with all of the systems in play. Once a little more game play comes out I think I'll finally have to get a copy :)
Great news! Been waiting since Oct 12th, and I think you guys are getting close so here's to hoping I snag a key!
Interesting read guys! I've been working with Ogre3D for quite a while now and recently implemented a Bullet Physics wrapper, I've kept it as a point to separate the graphics and physics code so that when I do start multithreading it will be a bit easier. Thanks for putting time into a technical post, I find they are just as awesome as media updates which always seem to dominate peoples interest :)
Hopefully get my game/engine looking decent enough to finally start some dev posting :)
Very awesome looking, can't wait to play the single player, it looks incredibly atmospheric. Hope we won't have to wait too long for the multiplayer after :)
I rather like the smaller gun models, games these days seem to be really magnifying how they look, like you would run around with the gun right up to your face or when you use the iron-sights you use them as a scope putting them an inch from your eye, at least with pistols.
Anyway, it looks great, can't wait to see more!
Great work guys, will this story telling be included in the game itself? If so I might have to avoid reading these! :)
Interesting stuff, I always liked the idea of caching time based deltas of the database image, then, when people connect you only have to check their 'sequence number' and apply the deltas since then (kind of like patching). Not sure how well it would work but indexing based on sequence values would make it fast, and it would not have to send updates on every entity.
Keep up the great work guys! Can't wait for an alpha key :)
Great update, love the music! The atmosphere surrounding this game is great. Can't wait to see the demo.
Very interesting, I really like the games direction. I really liked the trailer released last year, especially the music. Can't wait for the demo!
Although I've been playing around with developing my own, I think that engine licenses now are very reasonable being a lot are royalty free to an extent making them very accessible to low budget titles.
I just like the freedom of having access to all of the source code to tailor your own engine exactly how you want it :)
Looks great, I definitely think that the problem of vegetation disappearing in the distance is extremely annoying. I remember this being a big problem with BF2. Keep up the awesome work guys!
Looks great guys! I was playing the beta and at wave 19 I kill everything but it says theres still one guy left, I restarted the wave and the same thing happened. Still was a blast though, can't wait for new content :)
Thats great! I can't wait till the end of this semester, I bought the game and haven't had time to play it much.
This looks fantastic keep up the great work!
Waited too long to pick this up. Great job, certainly worth the price :)
Congrats Vino! I will have to coerce my friends into getting this with me :)
This is really cool great work guys! The ropes look fantastic.
Wish I could help, I thought that the game was fantastic last time I played it. Really fun game play with the spray painting for score, the music was also fantastic. Best of luck in finding people!
Looking forward to the client files :) Can't wait.
Oh wow, I didn't realize it was free either. I did love the FPS part about it too but this looks great!
Wow very awesome guys! I'll have to keep an eye on this. Never played Oblivion that much, this is a good reason to reinstall :)
Looks very nice guys.
I think he just said above that they do get the other game (in total own 2 copies of both) or can work out to receive a refund on one of them.
Wow looks really nice, love the poster :)
looks great, keep up the good work.
Nice! Looking better and better. Loving the weekly updates, can't wait for release.
Great update, can't wait for this to come out :)
Nice! been looking forward to this :)
Sounds pretty neat, I'll have to reinstall and check it out. I like the full caps description :)
As usual everything looks professionally done, great work guys. Really looking forward to next release :)
Wow looks great, keep up the awesome work!
lol looks great :)
The same John G from Momento? :O
No I'm not French, I was clueless on a SN so I figured eh, I took 3 years of French and developed the name "PierreWillRockYou" but when I start playing new games I use "PierreOfTheFrench" just in case I don't rock you :) Je connais un petite francais mais je habite USA dans NY (Yes I'm sure its flawed)
Looks good, for some reason it doesn't look completely real to me. But maybe its because of the rendering background setting or the rotation its at in the rendering. Maybe its the legs looking a bit thin to me. Anyway, don't mean to be too critical, looks great really looking forward to the mod :)
Very cool :)
Looks great! looking forward to this mod.
Damn, thats over the top intense, looks sick XD
Complain about the stupid stuff like when a mini-mod (skins or models) are posted like 7 times in a row on the main page... not for things as epic as this. :)
Looks interesting :)
Looks high scale and pretty epic :)
Looks neat, i'll have to reinstall and check it out :)
I didn't notice any lag before and I'm on University internet, which sucks lol
I had no idea there was a mapping contest!! nooooooooo lol. Looks good though :)
Downloaded the first one but didn't see many players on, I guess i'll try again, looked fun :)
Yes, it's very good looking but not quite CryEngine2... lol
That looks amazing nice work.
This game looked very interesting, I might have to purchase it.
If I knew where my CDs were id reinstall, this was my favorite game way back when lol =D
Wow looks really fun, this for PC also? I didn't see it mentioned.
EDIT: Noticed that it is being ported :P
Looks well done, does look a little small but other than that looks like it was well thought out and developed.
Thats awesome! One (of many) things I loved about the DoW series now in Lotro, going to have to reinstall it. thanks
Out of curiosity why is the barrel of the gun so narrow? I thought this was a grenade launcher. Either way, its a very nice update from the last model, keep up the good work.
Everyone starts somewhere Dredile :P, it could use a little spicing up like some props just so it doesn't look as barren maybe some lights to go with the the env_lights you have with some glow effects around it. Still looks alright, with the dim creepy look and the blood decals are a nice effect. Other than those things keep up the good work
I installed it and everything but it crashes every time it loads. Mod looks insane wish it would work :(
I think it's a good start. I would suggest making a few subtle instances similar to this, where you are not necessarily looking straight at the entities. This would give you that sensation of "What was that? Did I just imagine that?" Anyway, good luck :)
Ah good to know. Thanks
I love this mod so much but for some reason like all the animations get screwed up for me. Occasionally when I'm spectating there will be no run animations playing, just people hovering around, when sprinting the animations will flip between walking and sprinting and a whole bunch of animation twitching. I remember aiming at an proned enemy and when they went to stand up their model got disfigured and I completely missed my shot in the confusion >.< I was told on the servers that it was something to do with SourceSDK Base 2007 but others were telling me they were not having such issues. Either way, I love the new additions, very awesome guys keep up the great work :)
Played quite a bit of Age of Chivalry, really enjoyed it. I will definitely keep an eye on this. Looks very nice. I hope the fluid movement system is truly fluid. There are very few games that capture realistic movement and combat. Assassins Creed is a good example, having a non-button combo fighting system (Like Mount&Blade) but still that fluid feel like Creed did would probably make me cry with epic. All the best of luck :)
Wow the model is amazing, and the environment looks sick too. Great job!
Looking forward to this game! Will definitely purchase. Looks like the most fun dinosaur game since one of my all time favorites Carnivores :)
Very nice, can't wait to get into this again. Was always a great mod and the updates kept me coming back :)
Nice, I saw this during the Indie game of the year event. It looks really great, I might have to get it :) Was always a fan of tactical games.
That is hilarious, I bought mw2 and regretted it immediately, ended up just uninstalling it after the 3 hr single player to play more Red Orchestra :) great article / April fools.
Oh, well that is good :) I would love to start a big project like this, something with replay value and a strong community base. I'd think it would be a grand resume builder (If you are going into the industry). Can never find graphic artists though :P
I'm surprised you felt that you could not learn anything from this. Assuming your next game is still in 2D (since you mentioned same engine) I would think that you could still implement knew things into this project that would help you learn. I've been learning a lot of SDL and SDL_Net on my own time and it seems that anything no matter how useless it might seem when your done gives you great experience, practice, and forethought for the next implementation. PokeWorld seems like it would be a great learning experience even after completion, the concept is very popular. I'm looking forward to the post-mortem to see what you thought you weren't doing. Best of luck.
Very cool! Was really looking forward to the beta release, but I'm sure it will be worth the few weeks wait :)
They said "proud to announce that the alpha is coming soon to preorders" however that was Jan 5th and I think someone said something about they said weeks away but it is still in the air as far as I know. I can't wait for it xD
Nice! I was really looking forward to this mod :)
Yeah, I mean it is still in pre alpha stages. I am surprised to see that footage first only here, considering the hunger for footage on the UW forums :) That and I'm sure they haven't put in all the optimization codes for like rendering objects that are no where near in sight or stuff like that.
I don't think killing was put into that version of NS2, at 1:36 that is either some really pro shooting or intentional missing :)
Nice, yeah that Overgrowth & NS2 pack was awesome. I love the in game footage for NS2! (Although the fps in the video looks a little low :P)
Go indie game developers! Looks fantastic can't wait to see how it turns out. It reminds me of the Carnivores and those good ol' days where the eyes were the targets for the T-Rex. I hope there are some unique gameplay elements, I saw that it was to be described as an arcade shooter but I hope it doesn't have that UT3 gun fighting style and maybe something a bit more elaborate, iron sights are always a plus. :)
This looks great can't wait to try it out!
Nice! So many cool innovative indie games coming out, this is another one I have to look forward to now :)
Your opinion is that, you don't need to trash talk a game. I think Overgrowth looks fantastic, the Dev's are extremely nice from what I've seen/heard and they constantly update their engine. I also think the artwork they do also looks awesome, you don't need to act like a ****.
Even though I only played the second one, this looks fantastic, nice work.
Amazing mod, great update! Everything is looking fantastic, starting to not be able to tell it's even a source mod, great work.
On their page they mentioned a playable alpha will be released soon!
Overgrowth will definitively come out on Steam I think they mentioned (when it is released), NS2 is optimistic about the preorders being transferable to Steam but they do not have it confirmed right now. I don't think they will be in retail outlets but I might be wrong.
"Will the carpet match the drapes?" hahahaha that's great I hope you guys get a ton of orders, really deserve it.
I wonder how many were signed up before the announcement here the other day, I signed up right after I noticed it in the morning, hopefully pretty close to the front of the queue now :)
Very cool! That gameplay looked great. I'll have to reinstall GoW :) Keep up the great work.
Oh wow, I'm surprised I never noticed that. I used to play it a lot too :P Maybe the projectile speed was decreased? Or maybe I was just lagging lol
It's really great. Fantastic work guys, this post is a little late, the game was up for download yesterday morning or something. Was happy to see so many people playing it. I'm not sure if this is true but it seems as if the bullets are now fast projectiles and not like instant calculations like in Counter Strike. I'm not sure if thats true but that's what it feels like. Either way really loving it keep it up :)
Wow, everything looks downright amazing! great work guys.
Bummer cannot find any games online, been playing the mod since last release and its really fun XD hope you guys can get some basic bot support in that would be awesome :)
edit: Scratch that I think there are several internet games but something wrong with mine :P When im creating a character theres nothing there and when I join online games I get errors about missing things >.<
Great article, completely agree.
This mod continues to amaze me great work guys.
I thought the mace attacks were not based off of set animations and it was controlled purely with the mouse and the movements mimick the ones you make. Maybe not, either way this mod is going to rock :)
Wow those models are amzing =D
Nice update, I thought complex looked awesome already :P Keep up the great work!
I think its supposed to be like that... I love the fact that the mod is very realistic with the movements and such. I like how the aiming is really nice, the camera follows realistic head movements. If the framerates are low you might start to get nauseous and that could be the reason.
