In a single player game I doubt there is any networking code at all, at least it would be pretty useless since sending packets to only 1 machine being the machine it is running on has no purpose.
Lag is network based.
FPS is rendering/computation based.
Really great guys, nice atmosphere, music was nice, looks like it will be really good. I was going to mention some little things but you said they were placeholders :)
Looks nice, you don't need to have a poly count range to be a good model, it's about the details you can get on the model without drastically increasing poly count. Especially since you guys plan on doing large scenes you may want a lot of low detail models. You should encourage anyone to try modelling you might find someone learning and getting better who really has potential.
I know, I've been following since the early screens :) I really like the game concept I just don't know how I feel about the TF2 like classes. I loved 'Carnivores' if you ever played that. I won't judge it until I see it in action of course which I am really looking forward to.
Looks absolutely awesome! Visually astounding, great work guys. I definitely looking forward to getting this. Still a bit on the fence about the classes and special abilities bit but never the less, keep up the great work!
Wish I could help, I thought that the game was fantastic last time I played it. Really fun game play with the spray painting for score, the music was also fantastic. Best of luck in finding people!
Nice, I bought the game the other day and it is fantastic, so the goal is to make the single player experience an online one too? I was hoping to mine stuff with friends like in single player too :) Best of luck with getting things sorted out with PayPal.
Does this game have seamless loading from space to world terrain (like Spore)? I asked this on the trailer but I'm guessing here is where it's most likely to get answered :)
Either way looks fantastic! A genre I never really explored probably because there are very few games (if any) like it. Will certainly have to keep an eye on it, best of luck.
Looks fantastic, does it by any chance have seamless space to world loading like Spore (where theres no loading screen)? I've never really been into games like these but if so I would definitely get it just for the exploration looks great!
Reminds of Fury3 for some reason, that was like the first PC game I really ever played :)
It is always extremely interesting to see how other people work. I've done some 3d modelling and texturing in XSI self taught after some basic tutorials. I love seeing how other people model/map because there are always some techniques that you can improve on or that you never tried. Thanks for the post!
First off, it's a model not just a black skin... Secondly you can download it... but that won't make people see you with it... Third, your not PAYING for a 'skin' I'm sure over 90% of the Special Edition preorders paid for the support of the team.
I visit both, the problem is a lot of news is shown on both so it is a bit annoying to be checking both sites for maybe 1 post thats on one and not the other. I do like the look of it though, I think separating them is okay but getting them both at one source didn't feel overwhelming. Just my thoughts :)
It was most likely the documentation/examples. I could find only a single wiki page of a really vague example. Took a lot of randomly trying stuff to get some server->clients and client->server packets flowing.
I've used SDL_Net which is really nice. I don't know if that would even be useful though. I coded up some Huffman Coding trees and just sent packed memory buffers using it for a 2d tanks game that was kind of lame but an exciting project it's always fun to figure stuff out :P

It's a bit of an inside joke, the beard is worshiped over @ wolfire.com :P
Congrats Vino! I will have to coerce my friends into getting this with me :)
This is great, I will certainly be using some of them at least temporarily. Thanks guys!
Steam deals are the best, don't mainly pirate! At least don't pirate indie :) they deserve all they can get.

I've only pirated a game when I already have owned it but have lost the cds or cd keys.
Great, thanks.
Is this compatible with the Steam version of BF2? I have the cds but they are always a hassle to find >.<
This is really cool great work guys! The ropes look fantastic.

Check out the wiki it has all the info about the game.

Fantastic! I've been into this mod since it was fairly young and always liked the idea, can't wait!

I like the amount of film grain makes it look super creepy :) Best of luck guys!
Looking forward to the client files :) Can't wait.

Wow, looks fantastic! Faces/Men of war is such a great game with more people played it.
Oh wow, I didn't realize it was free either. I did love the FPS part about it too but this looks great!
Man this thing is looking great, awesome job Vino!
