I absolutely love seeing projects develop from the ground, thanks for constantly updating your development posts, the game is really looking nice!
Very cool! You don't see many people writing their own engines anymore, let alone their own physics library :)
Awesome update guys! Extremely glad I bought this it's a blast, out of curiosity, what physics library do you guys use? If you don't mind me asking.
Looks cool, really enjoyed the HL2 mod. I hope the same elements are present, the mace combat was really fun. Best of luck.
This looks very cool guys, best of luck!
Man you guys are pumping out updates! Sounds and looks really great, I would LOVE for situations where you are running low on ammo and need to forage for weapons/supplies off of enemies or teammates. I don't know if it's what you guys have planned but keeping frontlines supplied and not just blowing clips of ammo on bushes or holding fire until you get better shots would be a big refresher than the constant pray and spray of most modern shooters.
I think it's really great of you guys to have jumped into full on community news after your public annoucement and especially because I know in the other posts, you were kind enough to read/respond to comments. For being such a veteraned dev team it's really nice. Games looking great, can't wait to try it out!
I read an interesting article called "Write Games, Not Engines" and it was really great read. I play around with development and this really rings true. It is much easier to write specific custom elements than to try and make a system accessible so that in the future you can add those elements. I love modders don't get me wrong!, but I tend to find it much easier to develop with specific features in mind because you have the ability to manipulate the source code with ease.
Interesting, I am loving that rendering library (started working with it a little while ago). I really liked Iron Grip: Warlords so I will definitely have to check this out :)
Hey! This is made with Ogre3D right? I remember looking through a list of games and seeing a game quite similar (or I think the same) on youtube? Maybe I'm mistaken and I just saw gameplay of this somewhere else :) Either way looks great guys.
Looks fantastic, does it by any chance have seamless space to world loading like Spore (where theres no loading screen)? I've never really been into games like these but if so I would definitely get it just for the exploration looks great!
Reminds of Fury3 for some reason, that was like the first PC game I really ever played :)
It is always extremely interesting to see how other people work. I've done some 3d modelling and texturing in XSI self taught after some basic tutorials. I love seeing how other people model/map because there are always some techniques that you can improve on or that you never tried. Thanks for the post!
Man this thing is looking great, awesome job Vino!
First off, it's a model not just a black skin... Secondly you can download it... but that won't make people see you with it... Third, your not PAYING for a 'skin' I'm sure over 90% of the Special Edition preorders paid for the support of the team.
Awesome guys can't wait! I just noticed same release date as NS2 alpha, it's gunna be an exciting day!
Very nice, can't wait to get into this again. Was always a great mod and the updates kept me coming back :)
Very cool! Was really looking forward to the beta release, but I'm sure it will be worth the few weeks wait :)
Very cool, everything looks great.
Very cool looking, great looking atmosphere, can't wait :)
Very cool, looking forward to this mod :)
2000+ seems a little like overkill, unless it's a gaming laptop or something. 1200 bucks can get you a pretty nice rig that should be able to play anything, unless you buy it from Alienware or something :) Building your own FTW!
Keep up the great work!
It's been out for a very long time... One of the first full conversion medieval mods I played at least, not counting PVK since it's not really a strictly medieval mod (Although I love it).
Wow that really looks great :)
Wow that looks fantastic, I remember seeing all the call of juarez vids and was impressed by their graphics, thought it looked a bit like unreal 3 engine but this looks way better.
Looks great, played the first one a bit and enjoyed it.
I think they look awesome, keep it as is. This games going to rock.
Wow that does sound very interesting and fun, I'll be looking forward to this
Looks interesting :)
Some sounds and video was from the movie but it was meshed VERY WELL together with footage of the mall which looked amazing might I add. It was well done, looked good, and looks fun. The second video showed how it follows the movie... So to say he's done NOTHING is ignorant and you, in fact, are retarded!
You... are... amazing... Nice work on The Haunted! XD
psh could just pretend it looks fine to me :P I don't think people are going to stop mid firefight and complain.
Reminds me of AVP2 Multi player a little minus the wallwalking =D definitely looks like its going to be sweet :)
Looks very fun, models are outstanding I think and the movement of the models look fluid and realistic. The only thing is the Gears of War game has an amazing cover system which is the key to it's success among other things. I think if this first person concept was incorporated with the cover system it would be nothing short of amazing. Keep up the good work!
Wow that looks nice
Does look very good, I didn't even notice the trees until I saw the comment :P but they do look a little generic.
sorry, I find you really gay, make something better than
Very interesting, I really like the games direction. I really liked the trailer released last year, especially the music. Can't wait for the demo!
Looks awesome, I'm glad there was more than just 'point to point' generic melee attacks with several different weapon models, it's clear that this is going to be a fully featured game instead of a derivation of another but under water. Can't wait until there's something playable out through preorder or something! Best of luck.
Although I've been playing around with developing my own, I think that engine licenses now are very reasonable being a lot are royalty free to an extent making them very accessible to low budget titles.
I just like the freedom of having access to all of the source code to tailor your own engine exactly how you want it :)
Awesome update guys, still cannot connect to any servers though which is a major bummer!
Looks great, I definitely think that the problem of vegetation disappearing in the distance is extremely annoying. I remember this being a big problem with BF2. Keep up the awesome work guys!
It's always much easier to re-create things, you never have to start from scratch once you've done something once :) I bought Project Zomboid on Desura a few weeks ago, can't wait to see you guys get back on your feet it definitely held a lot of promise!
With that said, reddit/twitter was seemed like a pretty big PR disaster... It seemed like a lot of people were trolling as expected so, but I think that could have been handled a bit better there was a lot of back and forth on twitter until the account was deleted. I think that should have been handled a bit more delicately and not just a volley of insults.
Anyway, best of luck guys, maybe you will catch a break and recover the stolen property.
I wonder how many were signed up before the announcement here the other day, I signed up right after I noticed it in the morning, hopefully pretty close to the front of the queue now :)
It's a key that will give you access to their alpha build so you can test it much like a beta but one step before, you should know this! :)
Looks fantastic! Hope I can snag an alpha key myself :) Played Battleground Europe for a bit but couldn't get anyone to play with me because of the graphics.
You need to right click on it and switch the versions in Desura, I didn't notice until after I played for 30 minutes :P
Wow, I've been looking at this games news a lot and finally tried it out! Wish I would have sooner it's fantastic. I plan on buying it but am having troubles with connecting to servers. Firewalls not blocking it and I run it as Administrator but usually can't connect to any of the servers (I did once it was a blast). Anyone else experience similar issue before? Thanks.
There were several games exactly like angry birds long before it came out... I have more respect for Notch than the angry bird developers, for me, I'm more interesting in seeing original awesome games like Frozen Synapse and Minecraft than games like angry birds. From a business perspective angry birds made the money but it seems for the most part people are here for the love of making games, not money. Just my two cents.
Looks great guys! I was playing the beta and at wave 19 I kill everything but it says theres still one guy left, I restarted the wave and the same thing happened. Still was a blast though, can't wait for new content :)
That's great to hear! It's been a while since I've seen a true indie game coming out that the developers seem interested in the community. Best of luck with development guys.
A little off topic here but the university you guys are from, is that anywhere near Göteborg? A friend of mine is studying abroad over there so just curious :)
Looks great guys! When I first looked at the screen I thought it looked a bit steep of price also but after reading through / watching all of the media I feel like it is certainly a reasonable price. I might pick up the coop pack, was never a huge tower defense buff but enjoyed Iron Grip and this looks very in-depth.
New alien vision mode and prototype DI very awesome update!
Very cool, I like the originality it's definitely a unique mod. I will have to download it and give it a try :)
I think the ammo system is fantastic, you wouldn't want it to drop the type you have selected because what if an ally needs some different type of ammo you have? I think from looking at it for the first time it might seem a bit complicated but in time it will probably just become second nature to drop certain ammo. I think it adds a lot more depth to the game great job guys!
Ah okay, that clarifies things. I think that is great, this way it feels like it compliments Steam much more, can't wait to see how it goes in the future :)
This is fantastic! I really like how it's like a moddb/indiedb condensed with downloading available which makes it much easier to download and maintain games. Looks really slick too guys great job. So this will not be a replacement/competition for steam? From the vibe I get and what is mentioned games like CoD will not be sold through Desura?
Thats great! I can't wait till the end of this semester, I bought the game and haven't had time to play it much.
This looks fantastic keep up the great work!
Waited too long to pick this up. Great job, certainly worth the price :)
In a single player game I doubt there is any networking code at all, at least it would be pretty useless since sending packets to only 1 machine being the machine it is running on has no purpose.
Lag is network based.
FPS is rendering/computation based.
This looks absolutely awesome, I was a huge fan Rainbow 6 when it came out. Looking forward to it!
Looking awesome as usual :) Any eta on multiplayer? It's great fun now, but with other people I think it would be fantastic.
These updates are really cool, in-game shots look really nice. Can't wait to see more updates you guys seem like you are powering through content!
Looks fantastic guys. I always loved Chivalry mod, this expands on the gameplay mechanics and looks absolutely gorgeous, can't wait for beta and the inevitable purchase :) Keep up the great work!
Well if the quality of the game play is anything like the media releases you guys have shown off between the graphics and audio, I really can't wait :)
Really cool premise, is there an ETA on the demo that was announced a while back? I'm not a huge fan of single player games but this sounds really interesting. Best of luck guys!
Yeah I think we are interpreting the article in two different perspectives :) I see what you are saying with the first part, I agree, ALL information including non-privileged should NOT be sent for the client to self-regulate. It was my understanding that the data in question was just extremely large amounts of situation report data that was static and could be seen by anyone.
When they say server should just handle logins, I was thinking they were talking about the Campaign server itself (since from what I know about the game, each battle is instanced separately (so collision/physics would not apply to this server/article and instead to a separate set of servers)
I don't believe this article includes anything secretive, the flow diagram seems to show more situation report based objects (like locations of battlefields/factories).
Since they said it was mostly static, it won't be data manipulation as much as data storage and cache accessing that will need to be updated when information is stale.
"- lagging: to counter this the client should forecast" I don't think network interpolation applies here either, I don't think this type of data needs sub-second response. Unless I missed something too! :)
This is great, I will certainly be using some of them at least temporarily. Thanks guys!
Steam deals are the best, don't mainly pirate! At least don't pirate indie :) they deserve all they can get.
Does this game have seamless loading from space to world terrain (like Spore)? I asked this on the trailer but I'm guessing here is where it's most likely to get answered :)
Either way looks fantastic! A genre I never really explored probably because there are very few games (if any) like it. Will certainly have to keep an eye on it, best of luck.
Even though I only played the second one, this looks fantastic, nice work.
Amazing mod, great update! Everything is looking fantastic, starting to not be able to tell it's even a source mod, great work.
Very cool, looking forward to this :)
Nice this keeps looking better and better :)
Wow that really does look great :)
Looks very nice I'll be downloading it shortly :)
Everything looks great, The Imperial Guardsman seem a little down to earth though without their helmets and such. But I can't wait for this mod!
Wow great job getting a patch up really fast and addressing so many of the major issues. It's great to see devs respond so fast. I like how the manalishi poison-spike-kamikaze damage was reduced it seems thats all people do is spam that. Great work guys!
SHAWEEEEEEEEEEEEET... Wow that video was amazing and the music was sick too. Not to mention all the additions to the mod :) Amazing work guys!
looks good, keep up the good work :)
This mod is looks like it will be amazing, keep up the good work.
This mod is very well done and extremely fun. It's got great creative game play modes, completely different purchase system based on different events. It's nowhere close to CS, that was an ignorant comment. The quality of the mod is superb and a lot of hard work was put into making it. Stop talking, and yes I see your attempted recovery post and still I don't care.
Amazing as usual, keep up the great work
I think it's a one person team, and maybe one other helper :P But he/they are doing an amazing job.
Looks amazing, nice work
