I really like to complain about, well, anything... thanks for visiting my profile.
Some people say that I'm a cynical asshole...
No, you need to own a copy of Half-Life 2 on steam, otherwise it won't work
I do have a couple more things to do before I'll give up smod modding, but after that I'm planning to go into indie dev, not alone ofc.
Yes, check the newest article to know what's going on.
There's an article awaiting approval.
All I can say is this: You won't be disappointed.
And yes, the initial release was somewhere around two years ago
I've been helping with revival of Half-Life 2 :Substance Moddb.com + I'm currently working on updating SMOD Standalone.
All that stuff caused a "slight" delay. but this mod is not abandoned.
no... why there would be one? it has nothing to do with redux.
I've said I won't be sharing this video, but heck, why not?
It's 2 hour stream with Biz, Spas and Me all about SMOD: Crylife (mostly)
May contain swearing, rambling, bad spelling and nuts:
It's BIZ playing -not me
Actual stream starts at 6:00
Bow is going to be a stealth-centered weapon:
It has slow firerate, ammo is rare(very) but it DOES NOT DECLOAK player while shooting, plus it has enough power to nail combine to a wall
(only in difficulties normal and below, on hard and ultimate player needs to be in Max Strength mode to one-shot an enemy)
There will be bulletime, different for maximum speed mode and different in remaining NHEV modes
after the CBT.
it may take a week or a few months, it depends.
It's not anti-material and this kind of bulletproof armour will only appear on highest difficulty levels.
What's Simtopolis? I don't think that was me.
what made you think so?
I can make an addon pack that'll enable default hl2 weapons (maybe some custom attachments for them?)
I can't make animations for picking stuff like you have in crysis, but I can at least add some kind of animation for "telekinesis"
As I must agree with you about availability, and the evolution of the mod, but there's one thing that made us take such decision:
Valve update of SDK 2006 that broke Lua code.
And now SDK updated again, and broke vpk.exe making Smod:Standalone
not playable/installable for most users.
If you want to re-download the mod, id suggest geting beta versions: Bsnooch.com
As soon as vpk.exe will be working again, I going to remaster 1.5.8 on a standalone engine. to make it slightly more enjoyable, and bug free.
We're not using any content from Crytek.
And yes, greenlight won't work here because it's an smod mod.
good.. another stalker to the accompany in the zone.
Because this is SMOD40aq NOT SMOD REDUX (the one you are talking about)
Install this and add SMOD redux to it, instructions are included within download or here :
this is 0.3 version, there's going to at least one more release of SMOD Stdl before Crylife 2.0.
Most of SMOD tutorials can be easily adapted for SMOD Stdl anyway
-game "modfoldername" works
License. Read License before Installation...
Yes, it's possible.
This particular version of SMOD is designed to revive any old SMOD mod.
Engine documentation is supplied within installation or you can find it here:
There's a temporary solution right now, but I'm afraid there won't be any other way to fix it :/
Not In a official release, currently there's too much work done on current models to suddenly switch to new ones and re-do everything from scratch.
Crylife 2.0 will support addons, so it'll get probably released as an addon/replacement of stock weapons
That's because of missing precache in mapadd, you can copy-paste the mapadd files from the lates beta to 1.5.9 version. it should help
You shouldn't load a map with the console unless it's map from HL2 and you're using "giveall"
Mouse wheel is not supported in 1.5.9
"latest SDK2006 update broke some of the maps (mostly CSS, but also some from Half-Life 2"
Is this problem from 1.6.9 (that's latest public beta) or an official 1.5.9 release? if it's from beta please email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or make a thread on our board Bsnooch.com
Fresh upload ;)
