Designer extraordinaire, I suppose.
The wall is actually exactly 3 units across. Place it next to a regular barricade, it'll sync up exactly, which we need for when people place their walls, then sell a hole in it. If I made the gate wider, it would no longer fit. It's because of the wall hub being tiny.
My compromise is I'm going to put bars coming out the side.
That's actually kind of clever :P
I hope you get to romance Dr. Thrax.
"The sexual tension... it's killing you!"
I know, right!
Limited to certain infantry; The Syndicate's core 3 and Auxies, PKs, Scripts, Noble Officers and ppppoooooossibly Minutemen. (Minutepeople?)
Man, nobody around here can spell Rarity properly...
It's just a sketch. I was more concerned with the armour and wings.
She's an Arab, though.
I only used it ironically. I was way past half-screws before you ever heard of them.
You gotta run a sharpen on those icons.
Feels too armoured, and perhaps too anime, to be Allied. Try breaking it up more; more straps, more soft armour pieces, etc. Too much shell comes off wrong.
This guy is my pick. Also, your powersuit-focused Soviets are totally awesome :D
These guys are most definately going to be my favourite faction. Stop setting the bar so high for RTS modders :P
You could also try making a cross-shaped set of planar textures.
It is a commonly seen trend that, the shorter the life expectancy in a society, the more children those people have and the greater strain is placed on resources. In the poorest places of the world, society strains against the local population threashold and resource limit. In these places where success is measured merely by the number of children that reach adulthood, there is no incentive against having as many children as you can. Compare first world nations, where the population is naturally in decline in many of these places.
In places like Africa or the poorer parts of Southeast Asia, it's impossible to build infastructure because people there are sick or dying too fast for education to take, for work to be done, or for social change to be enacted. The first step to improving quality of life is to provide stability and give people reason to plan for the future. It's hard to tell somebody "It'll be an improvement in ten years" when the guy will, statistically, be dead within 8.
THAT is all Bill Gates is talking about.
There is this concept that we shouldn't bother confronting people with extreme views because you assume it doesn't warrent argument. The problem is, if you take they approach, the other guy is the only guy talking!
Besides, you don't debate against people to change their minds. You do it for the people who are on the fence.
Not this patch.
I'm just going to point out that both Bush and Reagan had other officials lay the wreath other years...
You know, I was going to science at you and talk about mass and fusion initiatation and stuff, but you know what, it's cool.
Just an FYI though, another world for microstar is "fusion reaction". You know, like fusion bombs. En.wikipedia.org
You need a vacation dude.
Is it built out of pieces of old Empire structures and psychic doodads?
Whatever you say, pal.
We, uh, did it already...
The honestly look "deiselpunk" to me.
Wow, it looks kinda like a green Barkhausen Projector (microwave tank) from a distance. Awesome though.
The Carryall is no more ridiculous then combat mecha, lightning throwers, or space-time warping teleporters. Also, if it looks any bigger, it'll look really stupid when transporting small vehicles.
This copter can't carry anything. You'll want to look at the next photo with the mighty Carryall, which is purpose built to lift heavy vehicles.
8. Four was WAY too few.
Nono, Drill Missiles work fine. The idea of torpedoes that would transition from water to land to do the same thing is what is dicey, code-wise.
That was actually my original original idea, but I worried (with justification, as it turns out) about it's viability code-wise, and so I switched it to a ballistic missile while keeping the torpedoes as damage-over-time harassment systems.
Conscripts for example, with the molotovs.
I wasn't thinking of the lighting when I took this shot; I actually chose the map because it allows me to zoom in so far, which in hindsight was not a great choice considering the diffused lighting.
Ugh, plasma. I believe I've made my feelings clear regarding plasma weapons in other posts.
However, the model itself is wonderful! One of your best efforts, certainly, it has a very nice shape and good details. Thumbs up.
The list is just a guideline for you and for us. As stuff gets added to the game, coding issues, new discoveries and balance will cause various changes to that list, and we don't have the time to update the list constantly. We'll get to it, but content is priority.
I could patch them up no problem, I think.
Dude, just go to customize/statistics/show statistics in active viewport.
The plane is actually fairly tall due to it's size. It's like saying the B-2 Spirit is too flat to be a bomber.
Of course, it'll be excellent in such a role. However, by T3 most sides will have scouting units of similar prowess. In addition, it's a pretty expensive scout (likely around 2000) and some forms of damage may still effect the vehicle.
Treads are usually not pulled so tightly over the wheels; they should sag a little at the top, I think.
Basically. The Con Yard projects a very small radius so you can get started though you'll still need a dozer for the build queue. However, you have a great deal of flexiblity; playing a 2 player game on a 5 player map with the confederates basically means you have 4 starting locations :)
Of course, though I can't promise it'll be those exactly. However, I'm not telling you what they are; half the fun is finding out!
Dude. Remember Dr. Manhatten's clockwork floaty thing?
Like that. Just evil.
I'm the modeler and also a HUGE neo-victorian, I can assure the model got a little bit of a steampunk treatment!
True, but that wouldn't blend as well as a model. Additionally, one would imagine dirt would move it's way back as the drill spun.
Basically, one of these vehicles can effectively strike a whole squadron of enemy planes at the same time; rather than firing one shot, it hits a radius above it. It's not the greatest for killing individual heavy air units like Kirovs, Starspirits or Flying Junks, but it's absolute murder against Twinblade swarms, Vindicator runs or masses of Tengu.
Airfield long in all dimensions.
Actually, the Icon is really huge, seeing as it's a superweapon. Airfield huge.
It actually goes the exact same speed as the Guardian.
I wasn't even reading your comments anymore, just deleting them on principle. I have no problem with criticism, hell I'll gladly accept it if offered politely, but there is a big difference between criticism and insulting remarks, the sort of difference that gets all of your posts, positive, negative or otherwise, deleted for a few days.
Sweet Jesus. That tank does play around!
How about you give honest opinions, without being insulting? That's all I ask.
The Confederates are intended to have much more conventional shapes then the other factions, as their vehicles are considerably older and less advanced.
I'm aware, it's just part of the balance thing, with China having difficulty across water.
Hey Halo3, still kicking around? Good to see you still working on stuff! (though you might want to apply some smoothing groups to the front of that copter, BTW)
I'm not really seeing how this wall will turn at corners; the towers appear to be part of the wall itself, so any turn will leave an untextured corner.
That's no problem, as whatever happens in Uprising will be effectively non-canon for the purposes of Paradox's story. We will not being using any new units introduced in Uprising.
My modeller just sorta placed bullets in the clip to make it look good. In game they will stack properly and the I-18 will have a 28 shot clip.
They look rather meaty for tau, don't they?
They are just yellow painted tips on the ends of the rotors.
There is a reason for that; they are very similar in many ways in terms of gameplay, though divergent in others.
I actually really dig that idea.
My terrible Japanese skills are revealed for the world to see!
The intent of the joke was like a name tag for a department store employee. The Tanaka was chosen because it is part of a running gag in the Fast Karate for the Gentlemen podcast.
I assume there is going to be some serious directional armour in effect.
It almost makes me think this would be better on the Company of Heroes engine.
Make them big, easier to work with.
... you are aware it's a book, right? From 1898? The very first alien invasion story?
The AI probably wasn't even conscious until the Catalyst was activated. It's not a being, but an interface.
Gonna be at PAX East in my Paradox shirt! Anyone else in attendance?
What you don't know is that this is an ingame effect.
Smoke weed e'ery day.
That's because this is a composite concept art.
I consider this the best thing that could have happened ever.
R3ven is casting as we finish up Apoc!
We're all getting it. We have no idea what the eff is happening.
Something has wigged with procaster and it's screwing us all over.
My computer is built for rendering, so it's got some pretty beastly stats. It's like a small deity encased in a box under my desk.
This is amazing.
Bigger. +50% on the Assault Destroyer bigger.
Nah I just needed to use that gif on something.
Seriously though we've been over the idea of the unknowable and the false divide of personal and scientific knowledge.
It's just you. Very little has actually changed.
The exact stats are on the wiki.
The game wasn't even a game. Everyone who pines over it is just being a silly fanboy. Had they released it, it would have been hated by everyone; you lot only like it because you can't play it.
Yeah, we're back into boring background setup work mode.
If you want to contribute in a small way to Paradox, here is your chance. Submit propaganda poster designs for the Allies and Confederates so we can plaster them onto American buildings in Release 1!
But of course.
