I found these things to be hard to read, because of the small area that a large amount of text is squeezed into, combined with the low color contrast between the text and its background. Having larger, scrollable text might help.

Though a lot of original HL2 content is being used, it's being utilised well. This mod is using these tired old graphics in a way that takes them out of their original context, giving them new life.

This mod was great. It's as if you guys took the best parts of Half-Life and made them into a full-length mod—the pacing and difficulty were excellent, and I never got stuck for long.

While this mod isn't really remaking Half-Life, the Black Mesa team are getting a real run for their money (the non-existent money to be made in mods, that is!) in recreating the Black Mesa experience.

I think a big part of why it's so noticeable is because the clouds are moving so fast. If they were set to move at a more normal pace, I'm sure it would look fine.
besides, having internal magazine shotguns in games tends to be a balance thing, there are plenty of external magazine shotguns that would be faster to reload but they don't show up in games as much
your drawings are coming out skewed—from time to time you should look at your work upside down or in a mirror to check the symmetry

My own living room is a lot more like the left one, but I would much rather have the right one in a game; in presenting the player with an unfamiliar environment, you don't really want to overload their senses, I think. Otherwise, the eyes will constantly dart around, making the whole thing uncomfortable to look at.
Also, if you have that much stuff the player is more likely to think there is something significant among the mess, and if there IS something significant, the rest of the stuff will fiercely compete with it for the player's attention.
On the other hand, having a lot of stuff can make a room seem more lived in, and therefore more natural.
A way to balance this is to put things in more out-of-the-way places, for example if you mostly set stuff on counters or tables or in shelves, but leave much of the walkable room uncluttered.

Looks really nice, but you might want to make a blend texture for the displacement maps; it repeats a bit too much. Adding some rocks or something sitting around in the more empty stretches could work, too.
