Wow... You guys have really done it with this mod.
The combination of the realistic environments and the gut-sinking background music make for an experience that slowly gnaws on you. It's very well-done. It's scary not just because of things jumping out of the dark, but the whole environment makes you feel unwelcome, uncomfortable. It truly captures the feeling of being awfully, painfully alone. This game somehow manages to be immersive past any other game that I have played.
And there is the GoldSrc engine thing where model props suddenly appear fullbright from a certain angle, but it actually fits here—it's like walking around in the dark, and something normal suddenly catches your eye for no reason, becoming urgent...
Going through the game, no matter how heavily armed Simon becomes, it always feels like you are intruding on something, you are somewhere you should not have gone, and your next step can be the one that does you in.
This thing looks like it could really blow someone away; it reminds me of how in WWII, soldiers would wrap metal wire around the wooden furniture of their rifles when using them to launch grenades, because the force of the grenade's propellant could cause the stock to crack apart
and about the file size... Remember: bigger = more detail! Which is good!
hospital: scariest place in AOMDC
hospital in this? I can't even imagine
in other news, I am an absolute pansy
This looks really good
Okay, this looks really good.
However, I do think that for the "creepy" version, his face should look more contorted, to create a more striking difference.
I drew up a quick sketch to show what I mean:
However, if this is not at all what you were going for, please feel free to disregard!
And please, do keep up the awesome work!
I'm really interested to see how you guys did this. I'm trying to imagine a practical way to create an escalator effect in GoldSrc, but I have no idea.
Exactly... If you had shown slow-moving clouds, people would be piping up and saying that it's just a texture.
They remind me of the baby Skaarj from Unreal
I think a big part of why it's so noticeable is because the clouds are moving so fast. If they were set to move at a more normal pace, I'm sure it would look fine.
Cleverly placed camera angle to obscure devtextured thing in background
besides, having internal magazine shotguns in games tends to be a balance thing, there are plenty of external magazine shotguns that would be faster to reload but they don't show up in games as much
your drawings are coming out skewed—from time to time you should look at your work upside down or in a mirror to check the symmetry
also, what Headcrusher said
well, at least you can kill people with your "sac"
This fine gentleman looks to be right ready to engage some lily-livered lackadaisies in a round of pugilism!
whoa, where'd this mod come from?
"hey, are those Battlefield 3 gloves?"
"One of the topics in the International Peace Treaty...is to banish all automatic man-carried weapons from the battlefields of the future."
I can see that our dear protagonist is not in favor of said banishment
Just need to call it "CRY OF ****: MOUTH WATERING 4" and it will get a lot of attention
I would guess so, but it would be pretty funny if after being in the promo material so much she didn't figure into the story at all
looks very... dilapidated
Loving the Jolly Rogers, nice touch
I'm still iffy on the tipping over while walking, but the aiming system looks really smooth and awesome.
Bought AAA games when they were on sale for ridiculous prices. $7 for Assassin's Creed 2, $5 for Mirror's Edge, $5 for a Bioshock and Oblivion bundle, $2 for Alpha Protocol.
Wow, I hadn't seen this trailer until now.
This is the kind of project that I would expect a game developer to have a hundred people working on.
i clicked on the link to this page because I initially thought it said "Guzman" and thought it was a game about Luis Guzmán
I'd say their groins are too low, by a little bit less than one head length (their entire bodies in proportion to the heads are about right, but the legs should be about 1/2 of the body, or maybe a little bit less)
what is that thing?
a boot gun?
