Don't worry, we've never come close to crashing before and we aren't going to. But unless we get some more artists it's going to take time. Any good skinners and texture artists out there please apply on our forums, we could really do with the help. The more skilled help the quicker this mod gets released.

G36 is on the maybe list at the moment. It'll probably go in but whether it stays in is a matter of gameplay balance. It's easy to give the humans loads and loads of weapons but what do the Goa'uld get in return?

Receiver detail is in the textures, strap clip isn't in the v_model iirc, and that isn't the charger handle, it's the release catch for the carry handle/sights. Charger isn't on the model as it's not visible in game. Might add it later on though, or more likely give it to Aurel, who's another modeller, him being in the US Army helps for accuracy such as this.

Yeah the bumpmap is a bit overkill, iirc I've already toned it down. And the lights and models aren't in the wrong position, because there is no right position...

It's a pseudo DoF shader. The centre is clear and it's blurred at the edges.
Centre of the screen is unblurred :) if you click on "View original" just above the image you can see it full size, note the archway in the distance is crystal clear.
Good luck but I don't think you're gonna get far. You are billing this as an entire mod and yet all you have to show is an SGC that is out of proportion. You need a hell of a lot more than a map.

Yes, by all means use Blender as it is indeed free. Personally I prefer Max myself having started off years ago on Milkshape which is THE program to use if you want to play around with HL2 models and see how they work.
1)Get a modelling program such as Max, Maya, or XSI.
2)Learn to model
3)Learn to UV map
4)Learn to texture
5)Learn to skin
6)Learn to weightmap
7)Learn to export and compile for Source
Should only take you about 3 years or so, if you're dedicated.

Nah, just me thanks. And yes, I have a problem - you claim to be alive and yet there is absolutely no evidence for this. While I may be in competition with you, that is not the point. The point is that you are messing your fanbase about - you claim to be coming back, well give evidence for it. Your website and forums have been down for months, how hard can it be to start a new forum or website? I could do it in 10 minutes.
And on my first post, as a competitor, of course I'm happy to see your mod is dead. But that's just as a competitor. As one developer to another, I hope you do come back with something, because in a way that will push both of us to do better. But you need to back up what you say.

No, at the moment we aren't even having anything from Atlantis - we're concentrating on the time period between seasons 3 and 8 of Stargate SG-1. However don't rule out Atlantis content entirely, but we're trying to keep things simple at the moment.
I wonder how much of that will be in response to Legacy beta 2...
