Lookin pretty sweet guys, hopefully some gameplay videos next!
(and would that be the same Blake Allen, sound designer, who used to work for Noesis Interactive? If it is, you've made an excellent choice!)
We'll do our best to be there!
Way to go Desura, this is very cool!
We'll be at GDC on the 10th, where will your presentation be taking place?
Seriously. Ok, Desura/ModDB, let's figure out a way to start up the first annual MDC!
This is a pretty interesting idea. Why aren't there any conferences that focus on mods and the people who make them? My guess is because conferences are usually driven my money and sponsors and modding isn't exactly known for either of these. It would definitely be awesome to have some sort of modding focused event that is similar to the GDC (but most likely on a much smaller scale).
Whoo hoo! Stoked on the update!
Thanks a lot for sticking with this mod and continuing to develop for it! Really looking forward to seeing some new Hardcore maps.
Ok everbody, time for you to load up Eternal Silence and fill up those servers! NOW!
Congratulations to all the winners and runner ups!!! (and really, congratulations to all the modders and developers who released anything this past year as well). You guys really know how to make great games. Let's hope the video game industry takes some notes from the awesome community on ModDB. Cheers!
As always, Noesis Interactive will be at the Game Developers Conference! Send us a message if you want to meet up at some point, and you can also come check us out at the Unity booth! (general exhibit show floor, booth 1112).
Neglected Fern is an epic win!
Umm yeah...
* Press F to lock onto any enemy or objective location
* Shooting accurately is pretty easy if you aim at the target icons (usually leading the targeted enemy ship)
* 3rd person flying perspective is already in the game
Try to actually be informed before you start making comments.
Eternal Silence is one of the best mods out there and I'm really happy to hear that there is new development starting to take place! Keep up the great work ES team!
Currently Source fanboy and now a Unity fanboy as well!
(Unreal is pretty sweet though, we'll have do something with it in the future)
Yeah, the poll should've had more options!
Namely:
Cyanide and Happiness - Explosm.net
and
Chainsawsuit - Chainsawsuit.com
Yes, the same tutorials that will be used in the school courses will eventually be available for individuals. We'll make another news post once they're released.
The free version of Unity is really close the full commercial version so check it out and get started on those games!
Of course this map deserves a profile! (even if it wasn't going to be built out to a whole campaign)
I had the privilege of playing it pre-release and it kicks much ***! Excellent mapping and gameplay options! Do yourself a favor and play it RIGHT NOW!
Keep up the great work Wills!
Nice releases!
You can definitely kill the capital ships from the outside and its a very effective strategy to have bombers hitting the capital ship while the rest of the team attacks the inside of it.
I love this mod most of all. It has become like an addiction.
"Neo-Galactic Nut Jobs!"
Hmmmm
Nice review. Good releases.
(but what does TOPF stand for in the Slipstream title? I guess it must be "The Of Price Freedom")
Whoo Hoo! The Nameless Mod FTW!
Seems like a good time to drop a link on ya:
Youtube.com
(a higher quality version of the interview is also on Facebook but you will have to add Noesis as a friend to view it)
new......feature......article.....everyday.....?
How can you consider it dead if people are still playing it, and there are still new updates being released?
Just because not enough people play a mod doesn't mean it is dead.
You probably got downrated because you called it "a mod that's nearly dead". Do you even play Eternal Silence?
I play ES every day and I would say its far from dead.
Ummm yeah. Are you serious? No backstory?
Its more like a freakin novel!
Eternal-silence.net
Great idea, looking forward to it! It will be really interesting to see what makes the grade.
sidenotes:
I find it really funny that the U.S. Airforce is advertising on ModDB because it seems like none of the guys who work for ModDB are actually from the U.S.!
I also like how the little attempt-to-connect statement says "So enjoy a new crop of mods on us and have a summer of button-mashing fun".
1. The USAF didn't make any mods and we would be enjoying a new crop of mods even if they didn't exist.
2. Isn't button mashing supposed to be a bad thing?
Summer of Mods and Indies FTW!
Well......Henley posted it and he WORKS for ModDB so I kinda doubt it's a case of "ModDB letting people put this crap on here".
ha ha hahenley
Ok, you wanna be in charge of creating it then? I know you gots the texturing skills, ha ha
Be sure to check out Noesis Interactive's upcoming tutorial!
"Nude Character Design and Integration with the Source Engine"
(yeah......that will never happen, ha ha)
"Hello all, my name is Michael Taylor and I'm a 3D artist. I've been using Autodesk Softimage since 2005,"
How is that even possible? Did you get a really early release or something? Autodesk Softimage has only been around since 2008.
(just messin with ya of course, ha ha)
I find it absolutely hilarious that they created the L4D2 boycott group ON STEAM! It would be even more hilarious if Valve deleted the Steam group and it mysteriously disappears, much to the outrage of all its members.
