This is likely to be one of the best places for you to find motivation and dedication for a professional development environment. Several active modders are well capable of taking part in an actual and professional game development process. Who knows if we in the year to come will be able to build Act 2 and Act 3 even bigger than what is scheduled for now!
What I mean is that if Act 1 sells well we obviously will invest such funds into creating an even greater game in Act 2 and Act 3.

That category is a direct reflection of 'Zone Produced' diet.

One of the perks of the USS Sniper class is "Hunting" which lets him digest raw mutant meat with less side effects compared to the other 2 classes.

I really dig what you are doing here.
I thought about this exact sfx some time ago as I've always loved being in the field during rain.
Very atmospheric, plus it renders you much more stealthy (masks your steps).

Are you able to control the sound for each type of roof or will all use this type of sound?
Also, how are you controlling buildings with several floors in it as these shouldn't play (at least not at that volume).

Personally I do not share the same mindset that russians produce one thing and non-russians another. To my experience the non-russian community produces as much crap and quality as the russian community. Modders are very diverse even within the very same nation.

Obviously you know your way around GIMP and I have no doubt that this program is actually a perfect choice for most people. Photoshop is like the big Blockbuster but not necessarily the best product (especially not when looking at economy in this regard)

And I agree on a particle presentation vid.
Although you did a nice logo design for this enhanced aspect we all need to see the particles in action to really get a feel of your enhancements. Maybe even featuring a before and after in the video? I know that I am asking for much here. But as you are aware of I personally am in love with the new 'Smoke Upon Fire'-effect (after each shot). Sooo much better than the vanilla effect.

It's funny 'cause I thought the same thing when I worked on this. But unfortunately we are unable to script a terrible misfire explosion when using the grenade launcher on this baby.
It works like a charm... But does it matter really?
These RPK's are almost impossible to get your hands on anyways.

As logic and Stalker lore dictates, Pripyat should be the very hot-spot of Zone activity producing extremely hostile and tense envirnoment. Due to tweaked a-life, NPCs fight with each others on maps much more often. Due to AI Tweaks NPCs loot *all* bodies after skirmishes. Wanna know who's the real bad-***: trade with him and see what treasures he managed to gather on his endavours. Or try to kill him if you dare.

Desaturate it. Add a layer of dust and scratches with multiply. Cut an edge here and there. Give it some weak and parallel lines across the whole thing to look like it has been folded. Then add a layer of solid color that matches it surroundings and have it be a weak 10 % opacity.

But the medic applies these armbands the second he starts working on a wounded colleague.
That way he shows the enemy that he is not to be shot at according to global rules of engagement.
A medic with applied armbands that starts shooting makes himself a legal target according to RoE.
So in this case I would say that it is either a mad dutier or a very naive one who hopes that people in this place respect RoE and therefore can take the first shot in many situations...

Very nice guys! It looks like you are focusing on the environmental atmosphere and I have this one wish for you guys: Add stuff, detail and debris. And I am not talking about the texture resolution in itself here... For me (no matter how great a game is) it is a deal breaker if the world feels empty. Rooms need tools, paper, planks, furniture, glass splints, boxes, etc. The outside need stones, branches, dirt, dead animals, cigarette buts, etc. Get the grip? If the level design has a lot of detail content to explore the atmosphere is sure to be there also. And also it is the best way to cover a very bad eye catching link from one mesh texture to another if need be. Best wishes and good luck with your progress.

I am a little unsure about the price tag though..
With a single kit you are able to raise the condition of any weapon or suit by 35% up to a max of 85%. Only mechanics can fix a weapon to perfect condition

For you and every other developer that would like to take closeup shots (without binocular vision) I suggest you do the following: Edit a startout weapon to have extreme iron sight 'zoom in FOV' and disable 'show weapon' in the main menu. That will grant you extreme closeup vision ingame without any black overlay filters with a single click of the right mouse button.

I think these are extremely good designed as all the other units...
but if I am allowed to give just a small critigue that comes to my mind it would be that the fur in their helmets look a bit too massive and heavy.
Especially the one to the very right in the picture

Another thing: I agree the colors on these are dimmed compared to the other units. I think these look the best

I didn't plan for that actually as I aim for making this feature as interesting as possible without actually making 3 very different mods. Surge suppressor protects agains electricity.

Sounds like you are doing armour ruck to the steps (I am doing so myself as I really like that). Silenced shots sounds good and the echoes and bullet casing clings are great for the audio experience also.

Maybe that's exactly what needs to be done to it. It makes sense that you would prefer a lower recoil caliber round for an auto-shotgun like this.
My weapon lore stops here though: is a 'Saiga-12K 20 gauge' more likely to be present in The Zone in comparison to a '12 gauge version'?
Or is any Saiga-12 rifle actually compatible with both ammunition types?

This is good input also. I wondered if I could do something on the balancing part by using the fact that the weapon requires a certain type of clip in order for it to be used (but haven't figured that one out). But I have now made the Saiga very rare in The Zone and it is not attainable in the beginning of the game.

Shooting range material seems to show that true muscle is required to handle this one on auto. Had it used a special 12 gauge round I could limit the ammo for it and balance it out that way but it's regular 12x70 so I guess that I will have use a different approach

It's really a powerful weapon and I was actually amazed by the intensity of the fight when I was testing it ingame by giving it to a group of foes. I have not yet finished the part of scripting where I am making sure that the weapon doesn't make all other shotguns useless in comparison... There are several ways, but for one it won't be easily attainable..

Davidme, I feel as if we have pretty much the same approach to the game experience and oppinion on immersion. That's why it's cool to have your watchful eye on my development decisions and ideas.
There will be many AK's in The Zone but a Spas12 in a Zaton stash AND the Skadovsk tradeable stock? Not very likely.. That's my direction on weapon availability...

Actually I already made changes to the textures displayed:
Black duct tape also added around the scope body and red/orange parts on the scope (not really shown) are replaced with light metal grey materials.

They are not 100% real as the scope is too far away from your aiming eye. But they do use the cool effect of flexible zoom distance and look cool in terms of animation.

The black part is realistic so I will keep it there. It could be removed but that would give you a strange effect as everything around the scope would be zoomed in also. The thing you are wishing for is only realistic when using dot sights on weapons and that sort of 'scope view' seems to be popular in recent FPS games. However, it is not very authentic...

My Reconstruction of the weapons in ver.1.2: Gathered HIres textures from SoC,CS & CoP. Took parts from here and there to assemble each weapon. Cleaned them. Optmized visual quality. Coloured them. Designed unique amount of scratches, dirt and corrosion on each of them... Then I ReCustomized the audio..
