I've done that before actually, it's almost as simple as it sounds. I'm pretty sure that I made a backup of the FoC directory and then overrode it with all files from each mod that applied and would merge well, except for the ones that involved menu changes (texture files are okay though). After you do that try to sort out all of the inconsistencies and ugliness. This should take a lot of tweaking (Star Wars units may show up from time to time), so keep that FoC directory backup handy in case of the need for a restart of tweaking in a particular section. Just make sure that when your merging the folders that you use the default menu files instead of the modded ones, that's the biggest problem.
Sorry that I can't really give you precise directions, screwing around with overrides is an inexact science. This takes a bit of know-how. I ended up not keeping my FoC this way because the quality of work didn't really match up. (Farseer does a professional and uniform job, while the First Offensive team is made up of more than one nonprofessional person and thus harbors inconsistencies)

I think that he's sticking to the theme of Halo 1-3, with the Forerunner being an indigenous faction rather than a full fledged faction. I'm making assumptions though, he hasn't even finished the core factions of the game yet. Also, there aren't quite enough Forerunner space units to fulfill all of the space combat roles necessary, and the ones that are available are grossly overpowered in comparison to their Covenant/UNSC counterparts.
Reminds me of Fallout 3 weapons...
Keep in mind that this is an RTS. Models don't need to be smooth, only relatively accurate.
MA5B is the Halo CE assault rifle (the epic one with 60 rounds), rather than the MA5C D or K which were in other games or books.

Yeah, but in this one it appears that you get allies and you aren't just fighting banshees. Hopefully there aren't too many ground targets to take out.

Man, there are so many mods that I want to help out on. It sucks being a mediocre modder(the only thing I can competently handle is small texture, model edits and Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout). Maybe wherever I go to college there will be some kind of class that I can take on the side to improve skills, so I can help out with things like this in my free time.

That tutorial did at least help me understand the process we're looking at a little better. I think I can pick up the actual artistic part fairly easily, but pasting the texture on the model I still don't fully understand. You just look at a particular side of your model, create a linear outline and start painting away? How one places that side texture on the model is still a mystery to me, but I'll worry about that later. I foresee many youtube videos in my future.
I should be able to learn most of the basics on my own, but I'll make sure to get back to you if I'm having trouble. Thanks, offering to help really means a lot.

Anyway, like everybody else I would absolutely love to help, but don't have the skills. I've said that a lot and should probably do something about it. I'm guessing texture artists are harder to come by than modelers? What do I start playing with to learn about texturing models? I'm not completely new at messing with textures, but have no idea how UV mapping and grafting textures to models or anything like that works. If somebody wants to send me a quick message about this stuff and where to start, that'd be cool. I realize I probably won't be able to help you guys for a while, but at least I could be of some use at some point.

That'd be pretty nice, but vehicle repair stations don't take up reinforcement points and would likely heal things faster. Also, I have a hard time imagining a UNSC vehicle that can heal other vehicles. What would it look like?

Oh man, it'll suck having to fight those freakin choppers! Although I doubt the AI will use them how the should be used. I'll send them past the infantry to run them over, not just to hit them with the guns. Like the cavalry from LotR BfME2.

Are they going to be like they are in Halo Wars in that the ghosts have so little damage that an entire full population of them can't beat a scorpion? I'm talkin 40 ghosts vs 1 tank and the tank comes out on top.
The UNSC frigate is bigger and firing a ton of missiles, looks like it's going to at kill most of those spooks and maybe a frigate with it's MAC gun. I could be completely wrong because I'm just guessing that the frigate is better than 3 of those spooks. Oh crap! Didn't see those seraphs...
