Though this does bring to mind how disproportionately huge the engine area of the Thermopylae is to the rest of the UNSC fleet's ship to engine ratio. Shaving off the bottom two thrusters would make it look normal, but I guess the UNSC doesn't really mind having unnecessarily large amounts of thrust.

I suppose the alloys used to construct the ships could be different colors, the Infinity is a much newer ship than a Paris class after all. But it would certainly be more pleasing to the eye if it fell more in line with the other ships.

Ship color hue continuity makes a mod feel much more like a game. :) And vice versa. The color difference between a covenant destroyer and the rest of the covenant fleet that our friends at Ensemble came up with has always bugged me to no end.

That tutorial did at least help me understand the process we're looking at a little better. I think I can pick up the actual artistic part fairly easily, but pasting the texture on the model I still don't fully understand. You just look at a particular side of your model, create a linear outline and start painting away? How one places that side texture on the model is still a mystery to me, but I'll worry about that later. I foresee many youtube videos in my future.

Anyway, like everybody else I would absolutely love to help, but don't have the skills. I've said that a lot and should probably do something about it. I'm guessing texture artists are harder to come by than modelers? What do I start playing with to learn about texturing models? I'm not completely new at messing with textures, but have no idea how UV mapping and grafting textures to models or anything like that works. If somebody wants to send me a quick message about this stuff and where to start, that'd be cool. I realize I probably won't be able to help you guys for a while, but at least I could be of some use at some point.
