Thanks! I actually have slightly different plans, this version of the game will basically be finished in the next update. At some point, I would like to possibly put together a kickstarter campaign for an expanded "sequel" that would include some of the numerous features that I (unfortunately) had to cut during the games lengthy development period.

For the first question regarding download and validating, I can't really help you, that sounds like something on desura's end (I've been noticing its acting a tad strange for me as well).

I'm not really sure what is going on with that second issue your having, it could simply be a performance issue related to a lower end PC playing it, not really positive to be honest, I'll see about looking into it though.

It's basically complete already, despite desura listing it as an alpha, its actually in late beta. I plan on doing a few minor updates still, but this version of ANoW will always be free.

That wouldn't be something I'd be able to help you with, it's something on desura's end.

You can already do that by going to the Unit Upgrades menu at the World Map.

I'll look into this, I assume that there are towns in the Area of Influence of the Town Hall for it to tax?

I doubt he even played enough to determine whether he enjoyed the game or not, his entire review devolves to "No customizable controls? THIS GAME SUCKS".

I plan on releasing at least 2 more free updates, the first will include the final shop item and a new gameplay mechanic (Pheonix Eggs the player can hatch for EXP). The second will include one final in-game reward for collecting all the Elemental Spheres!

Thanks! I agree, but I wanted to release it for free so that people would start to recognize my by name, give them the opportunity to see the quality of my games without taking any sort of financial risk.

At some point I plan on going back in and re-working the tutorial to be better at teaching the player, unfortunately a good tutorial is hard to build for many reasons, so it's not going to happen soon.

Probably not in this version. I think that the problem isn't so much that the game is particularly hard, more that it just drops the player into the action with not enough time spent explaining its concepts.

I cannot personally vouch for this, but if you really are interested in playing the game, I understand that some folks have gotten it running with Wine for Linux/Mac, unfortunately I have no knowledge of Wine so I can't say anything more!

Based on your review, you enjoy coming off as self-important and condescending. The game is free. If you don't like that as a result of that I had to cut some functionality from the game, then please, by all means, don't play it. My feelings won't be hurt!
