1- Install the game
2- Update to 1.1
3- Open a command prompt (Windows key > type "cmd" > run as admin)
4- Copy/paste the following line of text (you can right click to access the paste option)

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

5- If "Operation Completed Sucessfully" appears then restart your computer
6- When your computer comes back on right click on your Homeworld 2 shortcut and set it to ''Run as Administrator''
7- Press Allow and ENJOY!!!

P.S. You will need to allow the game to run as administrator every time you play

I've been having difficulty getting this to run in Win8, the launcher opens fine and the download of v0.16 came through without a hitch but when I hit the "start game" button the launcher closes and that's it.

The boarding cruiser from Armada 2, the Suq'jaGh, is in the TNG fleet, that's when Armada 2 is set. You will be able to see it already in the current release :P

That's how it looks for me, not sure why. What's really odd is that the transparency works in CFHodEd but not in game, so it can be rendered by my card :S

It's a mod... about Star Trek... which ditched all of that as a part of progress beyond 21st century on-the-drawing-boards-at-DARPA-this-minute tech...

Phasers are phased energy beams, more energy than lasers...

The weakest torps in Trek use antimatter warheads which are kilo-for-kilo much more destructive than a chemical missle...

Navigational sheilding on Trek ships negate the usefulness of any projectile weapon short of a Halo-style MAC cannon as space debris tend to have more kinetic energy in it than your average bullet...

And as for active defence systems, energy sheilds are pretty active when activated ;)

But honestly mate, are you deliberately being obtuse? I'm just curious...

All I did with this was revert back to what hw2 default is, it was a simple compare, copy and paste. I don't understand shaders and am unable to improve on them, this was just a step back to square 1 really.

The ship is at least partially transpaarent now, the effect is more subtle than we'd all like but it's still an improvement.

We are not planning other playable races because of the nature of planned future releases. However the Borg will be making an appearance in an Invasion (Siber's Survival) game type. Theoratically we could even have different "invasions", like a Dominion Invasion too, it all depends on the amount of work involved :P

This is the shiphold line we're using with the Federation Shipyard in the ST:HW2 mod:

addAbility (NewShipType, "ShipHold",1,40,1, "rallypoint", "Corvette, Utility, Frigate, SuperCap, BattleCruiser", 800)

If the last value, 800 in this case, is zero then it wont do anything...

There appears to be a graphical error with the UNCG destroyer's engine exhaust glow, it doesn't stay with the thrusters when the ship rotates and it sometimes moves into the ship when the ship stops.

Other than that I just finished a very enjoyable game :)

Permissions are done slightly differently in Win 7 so the default Program Files (x86) directory might not let some things be edited that need to be.

But default ZH works for me, via the Zero Hour Mod Manager some other mods too~ What a pain~

The Bussard Ramscoop yes, but the Ramjet wouldn't work outside of an atmosphere and there'd be more efficient ways to propel a ship than trying to feed enough oxygen into a Ramjet for it to work in space.

Perhaps you could go by something more exotic? A gravity drive? Some description of drive that "borrows" energy from the space time continuum and returns it in such a way as to propel and power the ship?

If you're looking for suggestions for tweaking by posting this then I agree with timi99. The lower legs are all good but the thighs (the top third segment of the legs) need to be about an extra 20% "wider" (front to back) and maybe 10% thicker.

Don't forget this was a pack hunter that ran for its food and then jumped on it after said run to make use of its unclipped toenails. It would have legs stronger than a Kangaroo at least!

the ring would be a habitat, artificial gravity isn't in the Halo franchise until just before the Autumn was refit for Keys if memory serves. Logically the UNSC would have had ringed ships with inertial gravity so that crews wouldn't atrophy in space!

In fact the only problem I have with any HW2 mod was with the BSG mod, which doesn't want to work now, it just gets to finish loading then the desktop comes back up.

But i assume different *.big files don't associate with each other, so it's nothing to do with your mod...

It might not be possible but is there a way to keep the shield bubble visible? Perhaps another thing too, when the shield goes down it should lose a chunk of health as well, due to explosive decompression damaging everything at once...

I think that you can avoid a lengthy delay to the mod by sitting down with the parties involved (or do an MSN chat or whatever) and figuring it all out.

People make nice ships to have them show up in good MODs, and typing a line of credits is much faster than doing a new model. logically.

If you want I can act as mediator, the "demands" sound simple enough :P

And after reading the above comment I don't forsee anyone making a huge fuss and hurling death threats about to an honest attempt to straighten things out.

Phasers are supposed to cut through armor and other physical things like a knife through butter... That's what shields are for and that's one thing SW units lack. They needed special planetside generators to get a shield around the Death Star they were building in one of the movies. You'd think if it was so big it could fit inside~ hah! go figure.

We're currently working on the TMP era ships, this will be release Gamma. Next will be TOS era ships (release Delta) and after that our interpretation of ENT era ships (release Epsilon).

Depending on the quantity of material we may space out the releases

Release Delta will be focussed on TOS era ships, so the original Connie will make an appearance in the mod too.

The docking/launching sequence is specific to the dock, not the ship that's launching I'm sorry, and if you have every single Connie taking a half hour to launch I'm sure no one would ever build one :P

I have a question, i downloaded the 1.4 install and it works great, right up until you choose a spawn point...

My mouse cursor isn't displayed when that comes up, I can hit escape to get into the main menu and it comes back, going back into the select spawn point screen makes the mouse cursor vanish again.

Any ideas?
