It'd be a nightmare to balance that out, it's a time old debate, thick hull and low tech vs shields+medium hull and high tech. Just using our balancing system a Halcyon would be a monster, but our balancing system doesn't take tech differences into account~

Indeed they are, they first appeared on the Saratoga in the 1st episode of DS9. They're a treat in-game and use the golden TNG phaser FX and sound. :)

The base model Excelsior has only been put in recently, we're considering having the extra bits for an upgrade (extra speed/something?), but you're right, the FX department at Paramount cut a few too many corners spamming TMP ships~ We're not cutting those corners!
The Black Hole is actually an object on the map that is "attacking" the ships, that's why the notification is going off there. I'll have a look and see if I can exclude it from the notifications, thanks for the tip :)
As for the fonts, the option in the launcher should work, it essentially adds or removed "stc_fonts.big" to the shortcut path. One sure fire way of never seeing the fonts again is to copy the shader 2 big file and rename it as stc_fonts. Not recommended, but if nothing else works it's something you can try

Noted, an excellent idea, especially if we put badges in prominent positions on ships, like where the Terran Empire emblem sits on mirror universe Federation ships. Turning that off would be important.

That's how it looks for me, not sure why. What's really odd is that the transparency works in CFHodEd but not in game, so it can be rendered by my card :S
