I've been having difficulty getting this to run in Win8, the launcher opens fine and the download of v0.16 came through without a hitch but when I hit the "start game" button the launcher closes and that's it.
Can't see that anything's trying to run in the task manager too :S

They're not balanced yet! The intervals between firing was increased so we could increase the damage value of phasers, but the damage values have not been edited yet. Rest assured we're not going to release anything with such a big thing unbalanced

The boarding cruiser from Armada 2, the Suq'jaGh, is in the TNG fleet, that's when Armada 2 is set. You will be able to see it already in the current release :P

Perhaps genre specific awards would be a way to even the playing field? Like the Golden Joystick awards? I have favourite FPS and RTS etc games, it's a shame that all but the FPS gets recognised.

It'd be a nightmare to balance that out, it's a time old debate, thick hull and low tech vs shields+medium hull and high tech. Just using our balancing system a Halcyon would be a monster, but our balancing system doesn't take tech differences into account~

Indeed they are, they first appeared on the Saratoga in the 1st episode of DS9. They're a treat in-game and use the golden TNG phaser FX and sound. :)
It probably won't disappoint you by being overly resilient in Continuum too :P

The base model Excelsior has only been put in recently, we're considering having the extra bits for an upgrade (extra speed/something?), but you're right, the FX department at Paramount cut a few too many corners spamming TMP ships~ We're not cutting those corners!
As long as there is one of each of the three segments (Alpha, Beta, Gamma) then one "integrated" Prometheus can be recreated

Due to the way that Homeworld 2 works it's inadvisable that we emulate STO's weapon swapping capabilities.

Release Delta will be focussed on TOS era ships, so the original Connie will make an appearance in the mod too.
The docking/launching sequence is specific to the dock, not the ship that's launching I'm sorry, and if you have every single Connie taking a half hour to launch I'm sure no one would ever build one :P

We're re-purposing starting fleets and using special research items to split eras, this fits in best with other more important scripts that we have integrated into the mod.
The HWU system has everything in one race, that wont work for us.

I noticed that my comments on the other page are all disappearing, PBG is running that page like he tried to run the mod, but no matter, hopefully he can make his own flavour of good mod without any of the things we've asked him not to use!

We're the developers who left the ST:HW2 mod, we didn't want our work to go to waste or to be corrupted by PBG's attempted "leadership", so we started up Continuum! Read the description of the video, it will explain all!
I have also updated the mod's info at the top to explain the split better.

I'm glad you're airing all the ships before your release, you can pick up alot of errors like misspelling Melbourne and the B5 ship names by helpful community members! ;-)
I love it when mods start location specific articles... it's times like those I can enjoy the middle of summer, knowing that the alternative is a white Xmas under 3m of snow somewhere in the northern hemisphere :)

i'm not a real fan of the gou'auold (however it's spelt) having a city "ship". The model's good, It would make a great temple sort of thing. I guess I can't make a completely informed comment unless I know what's going on with it though...

There is one things though, on two of the missions (Surprise and another one) the shields take ages and ages to charge up and I invariably end up getting wasted.

A simple way for showing the upgrades could be just to add extra arms~
It makes it look like there's only 5 decks there in the main trunk...
It has a looming sort of feeling, it should be big and slow, not a battleship though, it doesn't look toothy enough. As ming600 said, this concept suits a carrier role.

One team begins off on a certain part of a large map which they have access to vehicles (Jeep, helicopter etc) as well as weapons. Team two is placed in the jungle where it is most dangerous. They only get flares to begin with and they must find weapons to defend themselves against dinosaurs while trying to trigure (trigger?) sensors placed around the map for the "rescuers" to find them.

So to get this straight, the Morpheus is a "next-gen" version of a Heavy Cruiser, so it's got less hit points than the BC-304 Battlecruiser but more potent everything else?

I'll be looking forward to seeing the single player aspect of this, so many steam mods are purely awesome multiplayer games, but the single player side of things, the telling a story side of gaming, is usually left out. Kudos to you lot for endevouring to include it!

And since we've seen colonial ships able to fly in atmo~ that means that their missiles should be multi-environmental. Why not defaut to designs that make them more efficient in one environment and don't effect performance in the other?

Actually any strip phaser on any star trek ship can be used as a point defence phaser, as demonstrated on the show. If this game can only have it one way or another then they should have an extra point defence phaser assigned too.
There should be about 4 or 5 types of phasers available to Star Trek ships, just number them. I think the Ent-E had type XII phasers, so they could count as heavy. you could have type XIII as light starbase phasers, type XIV as heavy starbase phasers, XI as phasers for cruiser class vessels (Excelsior & smaller?) and X for Frigates and Destroyers. Destroyers on the other hand could be outfitted with pulse phasers like the defiant class. Lots of possibilities!
Can we get a bigger version of your scale chart? The next time you release one I mean. The size difference between the largest and the smallest ships is so extreme that the dinky picture up the top doesn't give it all the *umph* it should have.
headcrab looks quite shiny, but i'm very glad you guys're putting in zombie variants! It wasn't just the scientists hetting "head-humped" (as it were)
