the developers are either dumb as **** or egoistic to no limits

no reason why there can not be an alpha like before , i have no idea why they are so afraid to do what every dev is doing these days

Oh yeh ? almost an year since last major update or blog , You are the dumb one to believe this will ever come out

it has been YEARS! since then greg , if it flopped it flopped , the thing to do is move on and give it a chance at least . Times have changed , early access is a thing , If open beta failed back then there is no reason it would fail again . If anything projects and games are benefiting from Open betas and such . Following a one dimensional path never benefits anyone

i disagree again with the last part , the moment you upload this on this site this is no longer the teams own project , there is love from thousands of fans that deserve a few answers i think . In no way im attacking you greg . im just baffled by the reasoning

its not even about that , its just very laughable how safe guarded it is, i get it its free , but to be honest? its just a insult to the people here now . It is still on a public and social site .

There is no logical reason it keep it so safeguarded unless its something commercial or anything

My point is , i just dont see the logic in every thing being non open sourced and non transparent in this project . What hurt would it bring if it was released as it is with continued development going on behind the scenes and it would also create an opportunity for other novice and adept programmers and such to fiddle with the source

If no cash or anything is involved , why not make the source code public ? its the only logical thing to do , what harm will come with it ? if anything people will try their hand at fixing things

but just because the community acted like ******** once in the past does not mean they will do the same with a limited but bugfree build of esf final ? or even a beta ? and if they do lash out , ignore them , what if they get letter to discontinue to project from the authorities ?it has happened before , better release something in some form . i cant force them i know that but what i can do is put my opinion forward

i see you guys increasing features by the day rather than focusing on a smaller goal and finishing it , its just my observation , why not release the limited characters that are done 100% and focus on fixing bugs . once a stable build is out you guys can always work on more content thru updates

MAN now the debug shortcut gives all kinds of violation errors after the latest 6mb update >.> cant never seem to make a map i guess

it kinda does not compare to even the 3 year old shots , maybe the settings are low ? the city looks like sorta a 1.2.3 map

i think its about time you guys release this by squashing the bugs and add content later slowly , or at least release whats there already .

Thank you , i was worried if this is still alive or not , been following in the dark since the first old release :D .
Also i followed the dev-data thing and i made sure it loaded things from there from the console but the level editor would still ask for the dev data folder or the texture folder thingy

ok so why cant i register to the forums ? i tried 3 emails and it never sends an activation link.

also i did everything in the tutorial to get the dev build working but it still asks for the folder when i try to create a new level in the editor even tho now i have one . talking about the latest release
