What's to be said? I just a non-regular 21 year-old Argentinian :P I have a sharp interest in anything related to science and I love to put my mind into any subject, so beware to start a discussion with me! (chadaFACE would know). well, what else... I've had over 10k visitors to date, so that must mean that I'm quite popular (or so does my ego like to beleive). what else, what else... Oh I almost forgot. I'm a modest mission maker for the game Nexus: The jupiter incident, but I'll expand my horizons sooner than later. I'm currently working in the mod Stargate: War Begins (yeah, you've probably guessed I'm a stargate fan by now) as a mission maker and mild coder, and also trying to finish a damn book I've been writing since I was 12.

no, not an actual keyboard buttom. it's a mix up of mine, as I always refer to the buttoms in nexus panel as f1,f2,...,f13, regardless of their binding to the actual keyboard keys with those names.

counter-clock wise, starting from the one in the upper left:

-Regular railgun (the ones already in the mod, a support weapon, can't really do a lot of damage on itself)
-Flak railgun: Anti-fighter railgun, fires smaller slugs at an incredibly rapid rate but with little accuracy
-Heavy railgun: Much bigger slugs fired in a burst-mode, can't really do much damage to a shield, but it's quite usefull against hulls (it'll make it's appearence in the prequel campaign and forward)

Yeah, you should. Those files have been heavily updated, and now include a great deal of the mod's new features, including the command panel (they're not mod compatible, though)

It is possible and we're already working on two campaigns: The prequel campaign, featuring 10 missions and a linear storyline and then the actual campaign, that'll have about 15 or more missions (the actual numbers depends on your choices) and a non-linear storyline.

we've decided not to stay too close to cannon in this mod. Remember that the space aspect of Stargate was a secondary part of the series, so it was never given a great deal of attention, so sticking up to it seems rather foolish. Have you ever seen a chapter where railguns were actually useful at something other than mowing down fighters?

keep in mind that most of the destructive force of a nuclear blast is not the blast itself but the wind it generates. And since there's no air in space, the power of the bomb is quite diminished.

we're currently busy with the Prequel Campaign. We're aiming for an alpha (or beta) internal release by this december. And if we meet that schedual, then the public beta won't be too far away. But I can't give you a more especific date, since this type of coding (campaign one) is pretty new to us all, and there're bound to be a legion of bugs for us to fight through before that happens.

(campaigns are not covered in the game's mod tools, and that means that there are no documentation or tools or anything the devs laid out for us, and to date only one mod has ever made a custom campaign)
