What's to be said? I just a non-regular 21 year-old Argentinian :P I have a sharp interest in anything related to science and I love to put my mind into any subject, so beware to start a discussion with me! (chadaFACE would know). well, what else... I've had over 10k visitors to date, so that must mean that I'm quite popular (or so does my ego like to beleive). what else, what else... Oh I almost forgot. I'm a modest mission maker for the game Nexus: The jupiter incident, but I'll expand my horizons sooner than later. I'm currently working in the mod Stargate: War Begins (yeah, you've probably guessed I'm a stargate fan by now) as a mission maker and mild coder, and also trying to finish a damn book I've been writing since I was 12.

Even if there is an FS3, I doubt it'll be as good as this. Can't honestly wait to found out the outcome of the war between the UEF and the GTVA...
All I know is that it'll surely surprise me

Probably so. What KDE distro did you use? Please don't say Kubuntu...
And really? I found unity and GNOME 3 very... ugly. And impractical. But I didn't actually tried them, only saw them in a friend's computer.

I can't see why anyone puts up with that horrible GNOME thing... I'm more of a KDE guy myself. But yeah, Ubuntu's the best GNOME distro out there, that's for sure.

that's actually a funny concept... in Stargate most Alien races actually posed as gods but, did they have a religion? (I'm leaving the Goa'uld out of this, those probably worshiped themselvels...)
The Ancient, the Asgard... it's not something really covered in the series

take a look at the readme.txt file, the instalation instructions are laid down there.
Also, we recommend you play the regular game a bit before diving into the mod, otherwise you may find it a bit hard, as there aren't any good tutorial missions... at least not as good as the ones in the vanilla game

Yeah, the episode was great! Can't wait to see how this unfolds... literally. Working on WB storyline has been quite difficult not knowing what's going to happen with Destiny, the Lucian Alliance and all that...

yeah, we're still going through our options.
One alternative would be to have it as a fully fleged ship, once you "launch" it, it'll appear as any other ship, not a fighter. But this is all in the drawing room, for so to speack. We don't really know if we can pull it off, though.

the main_link.inc file is wrong. Open it up (it's path is universe/mod_missions/includes/main_link.inc) and find this two lines

M:GetMachine("Burst"):ChangeState(Default,0);
M:GetMachine("Beam"):ChangeState(Fire,0);

and replace them with

//M:GetMachine("Burst"):ChangeState(Default,0);
//M:GetMachine("Beam"):ChangeState(Fire,0);

It could be some of the random generated events... could you run it again on the mission editor? It's in the modding tools folder, it should give you a detailed explanation of the reason of your crash.

That's the problem with that mission, it has many random variables going arround, so finding a specific bug can be quite hard.

Mularac Apr 9 2011, 4:18pm replied:

that's the problem with Stargate, there was never an actual battle between Asgard ships and Goauld, so we can only speculate as to how powerful one is over the other.
But yeah, I also agree that a beliskner should be a bit tougher than what it is now.

Is SOD 5 released? I didn't know that.
I've only played SOD 4.57 and Warlords 2.+
I will give Warlords 3.0B a try as soon as I get Warband back in my system (had a very unfortunate incident whilst installing Arch Linux the other day... my ntfs partition kindda went puff)
I've installed regular M&B though, so I'll begin with SOD 5 then

I agree about the automatic upgrade, it's quite awesome indeed.
But I feel that you should keep the SOD system of upgrading the troops in your party only when you arrive at one of your castles/towns and that unit has had enough experience.
It gives an other feeling to the game, an added difficulty that makes it more fun to play. It kindda gives you a much needed RTS feeling to the game.

I've been playing this mod for some time and I really liked, the addition of fire arms and the new storyline is quite good, but it doesn't quite feel like the original SOD (well, at least yet anyway), if you don't mind me saying.
Are you planning on using SOD's troop improvement system? it was basically what made that mod unique.
