I already bought it! As soon as I read about what happened I chipped in my fifteen bucks. (As an aside, it is a bit confusing how your pledge tiers work. I buy the game for $15 then tip you an additional x to get to a higher tier?)

Being an indie nobody isn't as bad of a thing nowadays. There are quality games being released by developers no one has heard about before.

I'm sure you've discussed this with your team, but please be very careful about Early Access. Its a pretty hostile environment because a lot of trusting people have gotten burned by it. If a reputable developer like DoubleFine can renege on their Early Access game "Spacebase DF-9" then all bets are off. EA can be very successful if you're active and responsive to the community that is invested in your game.

I've been following development of Shallow Space on Steam. While I knew that the fundraising campaign was coming up I still somehow managed to completely miss it. Learning about the failure is the first time I've heard about it happening at all.

Its unfortunate but you've got to move on, which is what you're doing. Keep up the hard work. Standing out in the crowd of fad-games shouldn't be your priority. Make the game that you would want to play and nothing less because that's what your supporters want as well.

Whew, just had my best run yet! I am really enjoying this game, its got a great vibe and artstyle. I will agree that the UI is a little bit clunky but not too bad once you get the hang of it.

If I complained about one thing, it would be how difficult it is to switch items inside of containers around. For example, putting painkillers from several different bottles into one bottle, or switching my low durability backpack out for a higher durability backpack. I understand that its sort of simulating the act of doing that by making it a pain in the butt to do (i.e. having to unpack your goodies before you can use them in a campsite) but its just such a pain that I end up not doing it at all.

I can't wait to see more content in this game, its fantastic and I reccomend it to all my friends. :D

The only problem I have with this update is that these new buildings (crude workbench, well, grove) are still not accessable from the bottom menu thing. Any plans on patching them in, or are you just waiting for when you do some other major change to the UI?

Woah! Thats awesome news! Sure, I have no idea who he is but if you're adding people to your team that must mean Indie Stone are feeling good about PZ. =D

Now, hurry up and release the newest build! MY GRUBBY PAWS WANT TO TOUCH IT.

Eh, Megaupload and pretty much all the other uploader sites are a huge haven for pirates. =( I wasn't so upset about it being taken down tbh.

I was about to say something along the same lines...except maybe in less caps.

I'm more interested in the existance that giant robo duck in the actual game. WILL THERE BE GIANT ROBOT DUCKS?

That would be a smart baby then.

Obviously the analogy is flawed, but in my opinion "alpha" means "As buggy and incomplete as a Bethesda game at launch"

...or maybe I just like making overcomplicated analogies...or similies or something...I suck at grammars so don't nitpick me about it.

Your crafting system shows promise, but try not to lock yourselves into the "Minecraft" way of thinking. Keep in mind how much information you're trying to convey in such a little space. Simple is good, but oversimplification of complicated crafting can only lead to confusion.

I like the idea of a crafting library. Mousing over on any of the crafting squares should give more information about what you're lacking. A red box around your wood definitely tells you that you dont have enough, but maybe knowing how many exactly would be beneficial.

Try to remember: this is a really early alpha build. Aww, look. Its a little baby game! I wouldn't expect a baby to write a dissertation on the modernization of farming techniques in medieval Europe, so don't expect this baby game to impress you with deep, complete gameplay mechanics. You can move and jump and there are graphics! Excitement! Thats all you can, and should expect at this point.
