I'm planning on releasing a triple C title this holiday season (forget about holiday season - When It's Done ;) - but soon) 8)<directX 11 required, pong-like graphics>
Well it's an Unity engine and so far they don't support linux.
Don't worry, I'm not saying it's a copy or anything, but I do remember an awesome game from my youth and addons that were commercially released in it's time. I wish you all the best luck, and I'll be sure playing it :)
Huh, does anyone remember this: Images2.wikia.nocookie.net :)
This is great and all, but IMO Unreal tools are the most polished ones, being battle-tested and decade-and-a-half in the making.
Top stuff, the very best I've seen done in UDK so far!
If you have multiple paths, all available at the same time people are more likely to split than if you have only one and perhaps one minor detour possible. That's (probably) the reason why they did L4D2 this way (multiple paths are an option that only AI director 2.0 chooses - but the main path is always only one). The only reasonable way to make multiple paths is if you enable players to switch them instantly (like in the final bridge level in L4D - you can choose different "corridors" to go, but at all times you are a few seconds away from option to go to other "corridor").
I played it and I love it, however there is still some room for improvements - what bothered me the most is that last couple of maps are very dark - so dark in fact that your flashlight is of a little use. The other thing that should -in my humble opinion- be fixed is multiple paths trough level. This is a very cool concept on paper and it definitely is lots of fun and of replay value when playing with friends and having a headset with mike, but what tends to happen on pubs(my observation) is that couple of people go one way, the other two some other way and it spoils some fun. I hope my comment wasn't too harsh - truth be told your map pack is a long and joyful ride en par with valve's maps and definitely the best user made campaign for L4D by far. P.S. It'd be really cool if you converted this map pack for L4D2 as well - finale would rock in versus (charger powah!). P.P.S. I can't wait to see what surprises your future projects hold:)
Standalone version, this should be great!
Looks great, could you enlighten us as to what engine you're using ?
Looks great, including the right tree.
Excellent feature, I think we'd all like to see more of these.
This was a damn good map!
Wow, you have a really supportive wife, nice!
That comment made me laugh :)
What a month!!!
And they're working on demo (very good idea!).
Congrats on obtaining the engine license: Edge-online.com
Well done guys, DLing now (btw, make bigger announcement so that we'll have enough servers to play on :)
Looks awesome, I can't believe it's really a Unity engine game... You're probably using pro version, aren't you ?
Khm... the name of our capital is "Ljubljana" ;)
*deleted. Sorry but there seems to be a bug with reply system (or I might have erroneously clicked the wrong post ;)
This game looks great guys, and I like your video a lot :)
En pozdrav pošiljam nazaj.
Pa ne samo to - Slovenija je najstarejša geografska grupa na MODDBju hehehe :)
RIP Hitchens, a great thinker and humanist!
I don't really expose myself as an atheist (though I most certainly am) and I won't join that group for that matter because absence of any religious belief is simply who I am but I'd like to post an awesome series that you can watch on googlevideo called "Atheism tapes". These are interviews with "famous" atheist like Arthur Miller, R. Dawkins, Steven Weinberg etc. My favorite interview is with English philosopher Colin McGinn - Video.google.com it's a must see, enjoy.
@ZombineVelancious - If you're talking Stalin, Mao, Hitler (supposedly an atheist) or some other "secular" murderer you can clearly see the difference between them and say inquisition. Inquisition killed in with religious motives, and Stalin,Hitler and others didn't kill BECAUSE they were atheist but simply because they were very obviously mentally ill paranoid people.
No, they have it right, you have to put "an" instead of "a" if the word starts with a vocal (a,e,i,o,u). :)
Everything looks really really good!
Nice job, keep up the good work!
Come on, you can't shoot illegal immigrants ffs! You should make something more light-hearted like "The last of the meheecans" episode of the South Park.
Look at it from the bright side - I almost forgot about Project Zomboid but this theft reminded me that this awesome project exists and now I'm scraping my money to buy it, which I probably would have done otherwise :)
Now this lighting looks A LOT better than in previous iterations. Still I'm not exactly 100% sure that Unity is a viable engine for FPS, especially now that Epic are integrating their UE3 with Flash.
Man, this looks better than I anticipated! Movement code and ironsights seem to have a really "right" feel to them as opposed to most amateur FPSs (*khm*BeGone*khm*). Good work, I'll be following :)
Is this game made with XNA?
Download the installer then.
That is one damn fine mod!
In our country it was called A je to! - awesome childhood memories :).
Looks really good, the only thing bothering me is rain effect, perhaps you could make it a little more "dim". :) Good work!
Hahaha, that was a good laugh :) Great video, XNA FTW :)
Since Zenimax owns Arkane they most certainly do!
Mark my words: this guy is going to get hired by Valve!
It will sure be interesting to look at their code, perhaps there's another fast inverse square root function-like thing in there :)
This was damn awesome!
Beautiful artwork !
I suggest you go easier on the grass decals, they're taking too much processing power probably. Level should be more enclosed as well. Still, this is one of the most promising Unity projects and one of the most promising FPSes on the MODDB. Can't wait for the future updates.
Going into a burning coal mine is beyond insane.
Do they sell "Paysafe" cards in your place by any chance? You can use them to pay stuff on steam.
OMG, that looks so much better than I expected, I like all the aspects of the game very much, but I especially like audio - great work guys and gals!
Awesome stuff, great trailer :)
I wonder who made this map KF guys or Valve guys :) It looks really good.
Congrats to MMT!
Simo Häyhä ftw :)
AAA level design, that's for sure!
I haven't (by some strange chance) played it yet so I'm definitely gonna wait for commercial release and skip free version (I'll probably play it after remake). Anyways, thanks for the (re)upload.
Imo the "leg feature" in L4D looked really weird.
Wow really, really tough competition for Seumas McNally (may he rest in peace) Grand Prize this year I see.
Wow, that was really good!
Excellent interview, we want moooooore!
More than Crysis it reminds me of Dead Space.
I like your promo art!
Looking great, now I want to see army of Austria-Hungary :)
Wow, it looks super fun, good job man, btw have you used any open source stuff such as gfx renderer for your game?
Wow, I didn't have much fate in your game at first, but now things are looking really pro. You also had a couple of mentions on RockPaperShotgun and Shacknews if I remember correctly, congratulations and keep up the good work.
Hahaha, really nice art style :) Tracking.
I wish you best of luck, tracking.
Wow, I really hope that gameplay will be en-par with fantastic art. Reminds me of Call of Cthulhu game btw.
Cool, you have to speed it up a bit IMHO.
Quote from unity blog: Secondly, we understand that people who recently bought Unity Indie might feel really unlucky. Every single Unity 2.x Indie license owner will be offered to upgrade to Unity Pro or to add Unity iPhone Basic to their license for a big discount. And everyone who bought Unity Indie in the last sixty days are alternately being offered full refunds if they don’t wish to upgrade. Source: Blogs.unity3d.com
Good choice of an engine indeed!
Duke Nukem 3D is my all time favorite game (nostalgia).
One of the most interesting mods on moddb!
Excellent interview, I <3 Noesis for doing 'em :)
Khm, It's a GAME you know.
THE mod to watch for!
I <3 Noesis Interviews, very informative!
I've been following ZC from the beginning, and I have my fingers crossed for this one, (can't wait for IGF as well!).
Se pridružujem :)
I have to admit it - I played IG:W demo a lot more than L4D demo, It's top notch quality - light years away from the (what I see) broken IG:Opression, I will sure buy it when it comes to Steam or something(i.e. when it expands it's playerbase a little more). Playing IGW with 8 good players on hard is EXTREME fun, all of you MODDB members are obliged to try the demo! I wish the team good luck in their commercial pursuit.
The best interview yet...
Looks excellent, great artwork and all!
This is THE most interesting mod on moddb! It is done the way pple used to do 'em - for FUN! Hats off!!!
Looks awesome, will reinstall FC in a couple of days! Great work!
The 1st two shots are reskinned CS:S models...
