I dont make mods but I love playing them! I get mods for sins of a solar empire and star wars empire at war mostly, but I also play Garrysmod, If that even counts.......
Very nice, adds a lot of atmosphere to bases instead of them just sitting there. Gonna have something like a practice range next to the barracks or something?
ah, I would have thought to increase variation between factions that there would only be a small amount of missile upgrades for them since they are largely Laser dependent, while the caldari should have a LOT of missile upgrades, and few turret upgrades since most caldari use missiles. I know I am generalizing, but it would increase the difference between factions a lot.
I am not very ship savvy since I have been using the same one for a few years, but why do Amarr have missile upgrades? Aren't they usually all lasers?
I like the "old" keys look, in the remakes they made him look WAY too young, he has a daughter that is also a captain, and he has been in service a long time, but the remake makes him look like he is 30
Why can people not see that mods are not for profit and are being done in average people's spare time? Its not like they paid for it and are waiting for it to come out. Its free and a mod, be patient people!
That was awesome, good editing, nice smooth camera angles, and decent voice acting.

That is why that mod lags like hell, the engine can't handle all those high poly models, custom rotating turrets, and effects.
honestly I did not have time to play it very much, I only got to conquer my small star system, but I did not get lucky enough to see one of these.
Thrawn would have loved having two SSDs in my game, one to draw the fire while the other goes invisible and circles around the back to pincer them between two SSDs. No quarter.
Star swarm with sins would be amazing, though like you said, That looks like it would be more for massive amounts of smaller ships, not super high poly ones.
I just nerd out every time I think about if sins used that engine and made it as moddable as the original, but also being 64 bit and multi threaded *drool* Oh how epic these star wars battles would be then :D
Jesus, what is the point in having a model that detailed if basically nothing can run it? I also think that Geronimo put a pic of a Harrower done by that guy on his ORAW a long while ago. The only game that might be able to run a model that detailed would have to be star citizen, that game runs the highest poly ships of any game I know can.

Are you going with SOTP's method of planet invasion instead of bombardment, or are you staying with that? Would be cool if you got the mandalorian raptor research you could actually see those launching from your ships with, or instead of the normal landers. That's what I meant by actually seeing your upgrades, things that aren't just stats.

if only there were some way to make a galactic conquest map. Even just static pictures that you start out from one planet and you have to take over one to get to others and such. Would make the appeal last longer imo.

I apologize for sounding harsh, I just thought you put this out there to say "to all you people asking for a sith/old republic faction, here you go" and giving them all like 1 shield point, hull, and weapon damage to prove your point. sometimes I wonder why people take all this stuff so seriously. ITS A MOD on a FICTIONAL universe. Its not like it has to be historically accurate or anything, its Fictional, and its non official. Personally I would just balance them to be on par with the rest of the factions.

i don't remember what it is called, but will this mod include baliknights (i think)effects mod? It made the explosions on capital ships and starbases amazing instead of a poof. the function in the vid would be very good for assaulting starbases and one of your SDs get low on health

Will it have Co-Op survival, like in a skirmish when both people are being the same faction, you build units out of the same station, could that be used here for survival? and since the station is the same model for all factions, if there was co-op survival, could they be different factions and fight one of the other ones? Great concept though, never thought about a game like this having that mode, but it looks awesome

well some people use the industry ships to mine, however ineffective it may be, but you dont even see them mine in sins, so they actually are just hauling it
Me and my friends all thing this will end horribly. It could either go very well, or horribly wrong. I personally liked episodes 1-3. only time will tell how well this goes. I just dont know how they are going to get actors to fill the roles of the faces we know so well from the old movies. I heard though that it may be an all original writing and have nothing to do with the original 6. who knows, only time will tell

once I had it glitch so the main cannon fired automaticaly when I told the station to kill something. It shot so fast that when someone sent a capital at me, it was dead in 5-10 seconds. then they ragequit :p

I had that problem, use chrome, it let me get it from here this time, but other mods I have to use chrome to go to gamefront and it works fine
took forever but I got my PSP to download it. Sucks I am gonna have to do that with every mod now :(
the modb download button only says download from gamefront, which crashes my internet on all of these mods now :(
anyone know why gamefront keeps crashing my internet saying it was recovered then does it like 3 more times and says it cant connect to the site anymore? I cant get anything from there anymore. what happened from it downloading straight from moddb?
I think each race is going to use the industry ships for their refinery ships, and their haulers (ex Charon for caldari) for trade ships, I dont know though, thats just what I think is logical
one thing I forgot, will those skyboxes make some peoples pc's lag? I think Mine would be fine, but people that have troubles already, will this cause even more slowdowns or will it be the same as if you had the default colored skyboxes?

Sad they are so weak compared to SDs, if i had my way they would be even, if not better. They just look more intimidating, and look like they can carry more guns. Though, you are probably right as they had to be retrofitted and are old designs to begin with.

Exactly....I am very torn lol, I like having versatility and ability to make more ships on the fly and having sight of my enemy, but just having the raw firepower would also be great. If you produce ships from the station during a battle, will they stay in the fleet at GC? Or stay as a reinforcement unit when another battle in that system starts like TR? or will they just go away?
nearby as in one planet adjacent to the one its built in? if so, this is a really hard decision. Could put it at a choke point for extra reinforcements and being able to see enemy planets on the other side and from beginning of battle, or just have a crapton of firepower and a few reinforcements. Man, you made these one of the hardest things I have to decide between than any other mod has lol.
Hmm lots of reinforcements but weaker station, or strong station, but less reinforcing ships....choices choices....

True, but as I said, personally I like having a lot of planets to keep me coming back to playing it. When I finish a GC I have a hard time getting myself to start another or replay as the same faction. but that's just me.
I like to have tons of planets to keep me playing longer. I can beat a vanilla galactic conquest in probably 6 hours guessing conservatively. Mods like TR have almost 100 planets I have never actually finished lol.
not the stronghold, in campaign the first area of land you can take that is not a warp gate. I can kill them easily, but I destroyed their main camp, but they somehow keep making units and bonesingers that run around the map making invisible buildings faster than I can find them. The only unit that can see them are scarabs and they die really easy and are very slow.
And what I meant was, I think it would be hard for any faction if they keep doing this tactic, but other factions have a lot more detection units.
Ok, can someone explain to me how to beat the eldar as necrons? I was on my first battle with them for almost 2 hours! I use the scarabs to see their bases then take my force and go kill it. But it is not over. I go to every cap point on the map and kill all the outposts and webway gates they put next to them. I did that in a cricle for almost 2 hours before finally giving up. I know that is what they specialize in, but how they keep getting around me and building bases faster than I can kill them is ridiculous. so I can't play Necrons in campaign now, and I can't imagine playing any other faction will be any different either.
the campaign works so far, am playing it on steam right now!
Even on easy, its much harder. I primarily play Tau and the kroot were good against the orcs, now they lose unless you have nearly 2x the amount of kroot per ork. (And I got steamrolled in my first battle because they rushed a titan and I had nothing to counter it lol)
will the filefront mirror work soon? Says file is not available, and all moddb servers say 17 hours to download when filefront is normally just a couple hours.

ah well, will enjoy this much more when campaign is there. I don't deny at all that this mod is spectacular, but I like to have some sort of feeling of what I am doing matters, not just doing skirmish rounds that don't really lead to anything. Having that little bit of a meta greatly increases the enjoy-ability for me.

I thought I saw somewhere that you could play the campaign with this mod, but it does not show up on the main menu screen. Maybe I saw it wrong, but it would be awesome to be able to do campaign and just have the new unlocks for the base factions and the addon factions only in skirmish.
