I dont make mods but I love playing them! I get mods for sins of a solar empire and star wars empire at war mostly, but I also play Garrysmod, If that even counts.......

Can't tell if you are modding or playing when sins comes up, the Dev mode still shows in steam as you playing it right?
oh, right, well I had put the extracted KOTOE V1 in the mods folder instead of the Knights_of_the_Old_Empire1, I had moved the data folder to the KOTOE V1 folder and deleted the other. Probably would have been simpler to do it the way you said, I was overthinking it.
well, nevermind, my computer is just stupid. I changed the KOTOE V1 to KOTOE_V1 and it worked....

well, I am trying to get it to work, your last version worked, and all other mods I try work, but for some reason this refuses to launch.
I put the .bat in the corruption folder and for some reason it launches vanilla EAW, not even FOC. then I use the thing in steam where you have to set a mod path and direct it to which mod you want it to use, but that launches normal FOC, even if I move my data folder in the mod from the sub folder to the main folder like other mods, it still launches vanilla.
Any other steam user help me with this?

well the base troop is tan, but I could have sworn the upgrade troops were green with the red star on the chest, and I assumed you were changing them all to be this tan color

They are basically Russia in this setting, that is why they are using Russian flags and such.

Personally I had never listened to this song before, but now I am torn between this one and Sabaton's. I like Sabaton's vocals better, but this one has the better guitar and such. Just my opinion, thanks for showing me another song I would have never found lol.

I figured, but just showing when you hover your mouse on a ship and for example it says "Missile damage: 100" could you not change missile to say, kinetic? or explosive? So missile ships would say "Kinetic damage: 100" instead of "Missile Damage: 100"
Just throwing an Idea out, instead of the usual missile, laser, and stuff for weapons, do you think using EM, Thermal, Kinetic, and explosive ratings for weapons better? I think it would fit rather well. Have the factions, or ships that usually do one damage type, do that instead of just "missile" or "laser" damage.
If that would become too hard or controversial to implement, how about just making missiles do explosive/kinetic, and lasers do EM and Therm Ect. Again, just throwing out an idea that would increase the EVEness a little bit.
I like it, but maybe he means slowing down the initial movement from the explosion? it seems to move very fast right after it explodes now that I look at it, but its nitpicking.
ah, I would have thought to increase variation between factions that there would only be a small amount of missile upgrades for them since they are largely Laser dependent, while the caldari should have a LOT of missile upgrades, and few turret upgrades since most caldari use missiles. I know I am generalizing, but it would increase the difference between factions a lot.
Great model and video as always, but what is that music? I think I have heard it before somewhere, but never found out what it was
I am not very ship savvy since I have been using the same one for a few years, but why do Amarr have missile upgrades? Aren't they usually all lasers?

Will the Mandelorians have a defiler like unit? I could never play vanilla FOC against the Consortium because they would destroy buildings of mine ALL THE TIME. I am talking like up to 5 in a galactic day. Its more annoying than cool, at least for the factions fighting them

If I remember right a comment or one of your old videos actually introduced me to Sabaton, and for that I am grateful. They are one of my favorite bands now.
Its looking great, but as you said about the missile trails, they don't particularly look like missiles to me. When I think of missiles, I think orange, yellow, or white, not really blue.
And I like Sabaton music a lot too, but if this is supposed to be just upgrading the vanilla game, shouldn't it just use the normal star wars music? Not complaining, I like the songs personally, I just don't think they fit well. Though I am a stickler for that stuff.

Its awesome we are finally getting an old republic and sith empire in a sins mod! I remember how you kept saying you didn't want to do it because the technology difference in canon and the old era ships would stand no chance against the new ones. That may be true, but thank you for balancing them anyway.

Sad they are so weak compared to SDs, if i had my way they would be even, if not better. They just look more intimidating, and look like they can carry more guns. Though, you are probably right as they had to be retrofitted and are old designs to begin with.

Exactly....I am very torn lol, I like having versatility and ability to make more ships on the fly and having sight of my enemy, but just having the raw firepower would also be great. If you produce ships from the station during a battle, will they stay in the fleet at GC? Or stay as a reinforcement unit when another battle in that system starts like TR? or will they just go away?
nearby as in one planet adjacent to the one its built in? if so, this is a really hard decision. Could put it at a choke point for extra reinforcements and being able to see enemy planets on the other side and from beginning of battle, or just have a crapton of firepower and a few reinforcements. Man, you made these one of the hardest things I have to decide between than any other mod has lol.
Hmm lots of reinforcements but weaker station, or strong station, but less reinforcing ships....choices choices....
also, does this actually give sight to enemy planets near ones you have these built on?
The compass thing shows other players? Not sure if I like that, I try to hide myself and my base as much as possible to avoid greifing and stealing in multiplayer, and with that they would be able to find you right away.

halo 2 was my favorite aesthetically and in the one I played multi in the most. I am completely against remakes most of the time, but it should be interesting to see. from the footage at E3, sounds like the grunts are still using the voices from Halo 2 as well, I love lines they say. Halo 3+ grunts are boring and ugly (Imo)
I would still like a release of knights, the current one is extremely boring since the AI does not fight back at all. Even if it is a bit buggy (as long as it is stable) I would take anything at this point lol

and thats what i thought, your other mod was in there too, maybe i should actually do a game with the vanilla races again if you say its stable on reccomended. I just disabled them because i was always afraid of minidumping in the middle of a game.

so if i kept all the factions from the previous version you put out what is changed in this version besides compatiblilty with the DLC? also I sort of wish you would have let me know ahead of time because i found out where it plays the music and I wanted the files I gave you re numbered so I could have given them back to you. apparently it likes to play the first 2 tracks when in small combat such as fighting milita, and the second 2 are for idle. the way i had it when i gave them to you was randomly numbered, so it played higher tempo combat music during idle time, and quiet music when in a fight. I can get them to you if you want.

I don't have the dlc yet, so I don't know how you enable it, will it be a thing you can enable/disable in the mods screen or something? my main concern is if I have the DLC and a friend does not, and we go to play a mod like this one that is compatible with it and will use it but not be required, will my friend be able to play with me still? (hope that is not too confusing)
Those effect settings seem to let you go much higher than before. I thought they used to be lower. good thing you fixed the random minidumps, I would get pretty far in a game and have it randomly crash. also, did you get a chance to fix the galaxy files differing from host error on multiplayer?

if its a predermined map from the list, no. at least I dont think so. I know they are not affiliated with SOGE, but in thier star wars universe all the planets are named appropriately as long as you choose the star wars map from the list. this I think is a good size, compared to thier large map which has 500 planets :p
so just wondering, what made you change your mind and work on this some more? not that I want you to stop :p

What did you use to record your video and compress it? Fraps leavs a logo, and Xfire's sizes are huge. And only windows movie maker to render it....

cool, sounds nice. will they be on the appropriate stars? (gold sun on gold sky, blue sun on blue sky ect) but like I said, anything is better than default. the default skyboxes dont even work in the previous version, the structures would just glow the color of that sun.
If only the skyboxes would look as good as the EVE trinity trailer, but I know its not possible.....

In maelstrom there are planets that have animations besides just the rotation of the planet. Wish someone coulc figure out how to make turrets and ships have their own animations.
If he was paired with cheif they would have to be on the UNSC side, but I think they should be seperate because in halo 2 they didnt work together until the end. so unless you are going to have an ingame timescale that makes elites come to UNSC at some point I would keep them seperate.
I think he just changed the gun to match the armor color, I thought it was pretty stupid to have two of almost the same gun in halo 2, the brute one just shot faster and overheated faster.
so this Is going to have the one big turret from halo 3? those two small turrets that were automatic that were on each side of the front from halo 2 were cool too, but its your decision
hmm AI can be strange picking what it wants to be good at. Maybe the plague corrupted the AI making it work better for them but worse for the others >:)
