Actually either spelling is acceptable, but they both mean slightly different things.
Vampyre is the one meaning the humanoid undead form viz long, pointy teef.
Vampire is the one meaning a parasetic lifeform living off the blood of another creature e.g. vampire bat. Leeches are also technically vampires.
And I agree, that's some cool artwork.
